Thank you all for the wonderful compliments on my Wiggles outfit.

I wish my DD loved it as much as everyone else :) She put it on once for the picture looked at the back of the camera and said "awww cute" and will NOT try it on again. I have tried everything. She is so stubborn. My husband says she gets it from me :confused3

Anyway- I am still having problems with the appliqués. I thought I found a seamstress to put them on for me. But, I called this morning and she is at the hospital with her mom. So I am now back at square one. I have to find a new seamstress, since I can not risk doing it myself. I should post pictures of the hack job I did on it.

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the compliments.

Sounds like my DD. I've found that casually commenting "well I guess I'll give it to X" will usually make her realize she does want it after all. ;)

My sister and I (plus our kids and our mom) were absolutely ecstatic over the opening of a new WalMart in my sister's hometown. Wanna know the BEST PART!?!?!?!?! They have a fabric department. We took photos with my camera phone to mark this glorious occasion.

I thought we were going to try to look silly, but my sister had to look all cute.(I'm in blue, she's in black)

We sure are! Our poor Mom is rather dorky too, but she didn't seem to get our excitement over the fabric department! I was making that face just before Corey took the picture! After you guys left, we actually went back in for a little while, and I had to check the fabric again! The ladies said there is MORE in the back that they hadn't gotten out yet! I offered to go help them put it up, but they thought I was kidding!

I'm sure people wondered what the heck we were doing! I spent a little more than I'd like to admit, but I got some gorgeous stuff!!! Now, to figure out what to do with it!

Okay, on my quest for Jack Skellingotn/NBC outfit. I still have not found an outline drawing for Jack Skellington or Zero. Anyone want to give it a whirl? Also, How many yards of fabric do you think there are in sheets? I am looking at buying full sheets or queen sheets, but don't really know how to figure that out. Any help greatly appreciated!

This lady has some really good tutorials on her site. I try to keep them all listed in the bookmarks page too. She has a twirly patchwork skirt pattern that I'm itching to try!

So did you add that peasant top? I have to quit chatting and look I guess. How bout the petal skirt pattern? Thanks!

Hi Castle Creations -

What if you just went for some knit shorts (or you could make some shorts in a disney pattern) and then a cool t- shirt with an applique or an iron on made on the creative designs board - that would make a simple yet cooler outfit - and maybe you could do some shoes or hairbows to go with it????

The peasant top was added a week or so ago. I don't see the petal skirt pattern, could you post the link? The only petal skirt I have is from a different site.
TIA!

I bought 25 yards of fabric for $25!! They had some really pretty $1/yard fabric. Actually, they had racks and racks of $1/yard fabric. It was a bargain shoppers heaven! I didn't buy any Disney fabric, but I bought some asian-looking fabric that I may try to make a Mulan costume out of.

The peasant top is in the links along with a few other versions of it. Just bookmark Teresajoy's link site for easy reference. I haven't seen the petal skirt pattern, so either post the link or PM it to one of us and we'll add it to the links.

Very cute pumpkin, I like how the green "collar" looks Did you see the hershey kiss???? Very cute. If I could just get the hat and then make a silver tutu (Yes I'm very hung up on this tutu idea)

She's 3 1/2 months....and not a bit spoiled:rotfl2: The pic in my sig is from the hospital you can see my boys are simply in love with her:love: They are pushing for her to be tinkerbell. I want to avoid the wings till she's walking. I think they'll be a pain to wear in the stroller. I think all my friends will be shocked she's not something disney related but I'm not in the mood for princess and I can't think of anything else fun so I'm on to other things this year.

How about the Princess from "It's a Bugs Life"...I can't remember her name, but my girls thought it'd be cute to do a baby in that kind of costume....problem is we have no babies and nope, not gonna go there! :rotfl2:

Hi Ladies, and Tom...:rotfl:
I need some help. I'm trying to decide what my girls should wear on their MK day. :confused3 I'm so confused. They usually do princess dresses complete with tiara, glitter in hair, full princess make up....the works... They get tons of attention, and I love their photos with the princesses...but this year, it's just too hot, so I don't know what they should wear...
These are the things I don't want them to wear...
Pillowcase dresses....they get sunburn easily, and I'm worried about their shoulders being exposed all day
Denim Minnie halter overalls....even if they are halteralls....the denim is just too hot...we had a bad experience with a pair of those....
So any ideas would be great.
I'm working on the (*&^%$#$%^&*(* Tinkerbell outfit....It's going great :headache: NOT!!!!! More on that later...
I just got done eating a huge piece of birthday cake to make myself feel better...it's my mom's birthday....LOL

I would do a princess like outfit. You could make super cute light weight princess twirling skirts. You have to have the dance factor. You could then do matching tees or tanks. An appliqued Minnie princess head with polka dot/flowered trims. I would also do super cute hairbows and fipper floppers.

Also if they wanted to bring a costume. I vote for Tinkerbell. It is not as hot but you get the magical effect. Bring a little glitter and pull their hair to the top of their heads. Tie it with a green bow. The nice thing about Tink is not many girls dress up as her.

Does anyone have experience working with lame fabric is it easy should I even bother making the twins skirts to wear to DL on Sunday? Please help.:confused3 Thank you.

I will give it a shot. What exactly are you looking for?

Do you want the head or the whole body? Let me know and I will see what I can do.

I bought a queen size FLAT sheet and it's 100" long (2.78 yards) and 88" wide (2.44 yards) It's a lot of fabric! The measurements DO NOT include the inches that will have to be cut off because of the hems. If you really wanted more out of it you could take the seam ripper to it and add a couple inches to the length.

Here's a Jack Head for you!:)
