YAY!!!!
I did my first of many minniemouse-dots fabric. And my first applique.
This is pattern #5419 McCalls 99 cents at Walmart with my ad from Hancock![]()

She loves it and I had a hard time taking it off her so "it wouldn't be dirty when we see Minnie".
Things I "learnt"...
1. The dots wont turn pink
2. Applique is easy if you secure the applique to your top. Not by pinning.![]()
3. Rick Rack will hide a somewhat imperfect seam.![]()
4. We need yellow, black, or red CROCs. and her Hair bows for this outfit need to be BIGger and contain black (a mickey head in the center?) Somehow there needs to be an accent of yellow? In the hair bow? A button? A bow on the minnie? ((edited to add- I DID put a little yellow bow on top of the applique to the left a little...cuuuute!)
5. I love this pattern.
6. I'm wayyyyy more confident
Can I just tell you how super impressed I am with you! This does not look like a made by Mom outfit. It is adorable and you should be very proud of yourself! I agree the bows need to be BIG! She looks great and Minnie will love it.
ps. I have the same pattern (.99) and the same fabric. I guess great minds really do think alike!
AB FAB!!!!
I cheated so now I will applique a square on the t-shirt instead.

I've pricked myself too often and bled on my sewing so learned to use pins only when nothing else would work. I use Heat N Bond Lite and have been very satisfied with the results. I tried a few different brands but that is my favorite - plus I like that it's available by the yard from JoAnn's so the buyer can get as little or as much as wanted.
