She loves it and I had a hard time taking it off her so "it wouldn't be dirty when we see Minnie".

Things I "learnt"...
1. The dots wont turn pink
2. Applique is easy if you secure the applique to your top. Not by pinning.
3. Rick Rack will hide a somewhat imperfect seam.:rolleyes1
4. We need yellow, black, or red CROCs. and her Hair bows for this outfit need to be BIGger and contain black (a mickey head in the center?) Somehow there needs to be an accent of yellow? In the hair bow? A button? A bow on the minnie? ((edited to add- I DID put a little yellow bow on top of the applique to the left a little...cuuuute!)
5. I love this pattern.
6. I'm wayyyyy more confident

Can I just tell you how super impressed I am with you! This does not look like a made by Mom outfit. It is adorable and you should be very proud of yourself! I agree the bows need to be BIG! She looks great and Minnie will love it.

ps. I have the same pattern (.99) and the same fabric. I guess great minds really do think alike!

AB FAB!!!!

Another great designer is Pat.

Pat is super nice. She has done a couple things for me and has great invites to all those character meals.

Are these dimentional designs - or iron ons?

I am on a fabric finding frenzy! In addition to tinkerbell fabric, I am looking for something similar to this

f1e4_1.jpg

Has anyone ever seen it?

I was just going to ask if anyone has ever done a Chip and Dale outfit? My DS loves them. Of couse, this fabric above is too girly for my guy;)

Great Job!
I have found that the right stabilizer makes all the difference. Or at least saves a lot of time with the seam ripper ;)
It looks great and your little one looks quite happy with it as well.

Ok, So I am wimping out a bit on the Applique onto T-shirt thing. I was going to do a paw print in a animal print fabric on T-shirts for the kids for our AK day, but instead of doing all those curves on the t-shirt :scared1: I cheated so now I will applique a square on the t-shirt instead.
This is what I did.....
pawprint.jpg

And I still need to put it on a T-shirt....ahh, but what color shirt is now my question? I am thinking red for my DS, but what for DD?
Don't look to close at my applique technique. I am thankful the print fabric hides it a bit....even more from a reasonable distance ;)

That's the same very first pattern I used! I've used it three times now! Way to go! It looks awesome!

hmm..does anyone want to help me "design" an outfit for DS?
I have fabric just like this :
http://cgi.ebay.com/Disney-Mickey-Mouse-Surf-Fabric-Goofy-Surfing-Donald_W0QQitemZ130120560424QQcmdZViewItem
but I got it at Hancocks lol..I am making board shorts out of it
I also got some coordinating fabric so I can applique surf boards onto a shirt, (3 of them ) I just do not know how to get the Mickey Ears in there..like maybe behind the surfboards? Or in front of?? It has to be pretty simple..as in I can't make a cool Mickey leaning on a a surfboard or anything lol..I would love any ideas!!

Hi all I love lots of the outfits you have all been making they are great. A couple of people asked me to try and find some Wiggles fabric in Australia. Sorry it has taken so long my DD has been sick and I have not been able to get out much. Anyway this is my first post with pictures attached so I hope it works if not I will try again. The fabric is all 120cm or 48 inches wide(sorry we are in centimetres over here) it is $8.99 Australian per metre. I think that maybe expensive for what you guys are used to paying not sure. Well here goes for the photo posts.

To give you an idea of size the cars on this print are about 13centimetres or 5 inches long

In this fabric which is the same as the third picture the characters are 16 centimetres or 6 1/2 inches high

Let me know if I can be of any help.

Thanks
from Australia

Boy, I wish my girls still loved the Wiggles as much as their mommy does..I would go to the concert just to see Anthony...Yumm...Delicious...

Someone named Amy of course made this. I got it from the Disigns board. She has a whole website of great stuff. M_I_C_K_E_Y is her name and she even takes requests.

She did this disign in Mom, big sis and lil sis. I am going to bling out pj's for us!

I love this!!!

I just finished my 1st outfit--all sewn by hand (I can't wait for x-mas as I am getting a machine from the in-laws). It is nemo themed and I have a white tank with a light blue dot square in the center with nemo and dory on it and lots of blue bling and a twirl skirt with bruce fabric, orange on orange stripe and blue dots. It has blue and orange tulle and then the last layer to protect the legs from itchies is the orange stripe. I also made big boutique bows to match. Sorry no pics as my pc hates my camera and won't let me upload any pics. When I get to my moms I will have many new outfits to post for you ladies as I am working on a jojo outfit now and I have my walmart dot dress that is done and monsters inc sets that I puchased off a popular auction site. Keep up the great work---I love the inspiration I get from this thread!

Hi everyone,
I have been doing some sewing today. I have to make a Spongebob, and a Bratz outfit for my professor's grand-daughters. This is the Bratz, it's done except for the bling I'm going to add to the top, just a few sparklies here and there.

If the surfboards are kind of small maybe you could use a fabric paint pen and draw a little mickey head on each one.

Just the first thing I thought of.

I definitely recommend fusing the applique to the fabric before stitching. :) I've pricked myself too often and bled on my sewing so learned to use pins only when nothing else would work. I use Heat N Bond Lite and have been very satisfied with the results. I tried a few different brands but that is my favorite - plus I like that it's available by the yard from JoAnn's so the buyer can get as little or as much as wanted.

Oh man, I wish I'd seen that print a few weeks ago. It would have made such a cute button up shirt to wear with this appliqued set I made.
