Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

Ok I am going to try to post a couple of fabrics that I found. I haven't ever seen them on here before so I thought I would share...I hope the pics post!

The camoflauge and red mickey are from Hobby Lobby and I found the plaid mickey across the street at a garage sale. It is a curtain or shower curtain and the best part is I got the fabric for $.25 can you believe it?!?!?!? The pirate maps are from Joann.

I like the Mickey plaid...not something I recall seeing before. I got that Mickey camo too, just not sure what I am going to do with it. DD loves all things camo!

Here is one of the 2 skirts I did for my older 2 daughters.

They are going to be matched up with the basic Mickey head ribbon t-shirts when I make them.

My twins will be wearing these if you can remember.

Im thinking I may even make myself a ribbon T.

All I can say to this is WOW, that's a lot of clothes for such little people. I did the ziploc bag thing as well and it works great, almost too well. If you are flying make sure you weigh your bags before you leave because it's surprising how little clothes packed tightly can weigh so much.

I thought that too...so much for babies being light travelers! I'd be worried about the suitcase going over the weight restriction! The airlines are really out of control by us with that...I think the last time we went over, they whacked us for $35. And of course I am always worried how much heavier the bags will be on the way home with all those souvenirs!

DW has developed skin allergies and now finds it hard to sew. She still wanted DD to wear customs at the park and for dinners, so I decided that I would give it a try.

Anyway, here is what we came up with.

Also, I just have to say that the bookmarks on the first page of this thread were a GREAT help. It answered some questions that I had, and also saved me some bucks on custom bows for DD. DW used to buy them on the popular auction site, but now, we figured out how to do them ourselves!

This is too cute! What a great DH you are. My DH can't even thread a needle! I say go for more. Your design is very unique and I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.

Trudge on for sure - I think you could safely quit your day job and sell customs - that dress is FABULOUS.

We did not have a problem with the weight at all. Our suitcases are medium size. We took one for the girls, one for me, and one for dh.

We also had a carry on for each of us. The carry on's had our bathroom stuff, hand bags, accessories, make up, and clothes for the first day. We had to change hotels on our first day. They also carried the video camera and regular camera.

My Dh brought his book bag. (He is in grad school.) He needed his text books and laptop.

I also had a baby bag. We had enough baby food, bottles, diapers etc . . for a day and a half.

Out of the 40 outfits we brought only one was not worn. We were there the last week on June and it was incredibly hot. One afternoon it got up to 105 without the heat index!

I do not even know where to begin with how much I love this outfit!!

If you do not mind I might make a version for my girls. I love the colors. Those are the colors of my girls rooms!

I do have a question for you. How did you make the top bows. Those are really cute! I would love to do those!

I think with all the estrogen running around this house, it might have seeped through somehow!

With DW, DD, two female kitties, and a golden retriever (female, also), I think I may go off the deep end!

As far as quitting my day job, Nah!
I think that if I did something for someone else it would not turn out. There was alot of for my daughter that went into every stich!

I will try to post a picture later of DD wearing it! She tried it on last night, and would not take it off. She was so dizzy by the time she took it off, she just kept twirling and twirling!

OMG...my big kids would have the weight limit busted in no time with that many outfits. I guess that is the advantage to the little ones...little people=little clothes. I'm one of those that does laundry during the trip, but only because it is right there in our room and I can do it late at night. We all wear at least 2 outfits a day.

This thread is going to cause me to push the weight limits on our bags for our Disney trips. Just when I was learning to pack light!

I think this is one of my favorite dresses!!!! It is just beautiful! You have done amazing work and should be SUPER proud of yourself. Your little girl is going to loooooove it and looooooove you for it!!! I would faint if I just saw my DH anywhere near a needle much less sewing a beautiful creation like this!! AWESOME job on the dress and bows!! Would love to see a pic of your little cutie wearing it!!

Hey I had 4 brothers, I say forget the boys and sew, sew, sew for the girl. With that many brothers, she truly deserves a break!



I totally missed Utahmama saying that about looking inside the outfit. I know EXACTLY what she means. If you see a custom outfit, don't look inside!

You can make Sleep Pants for older boys so they don't feel left out! My boys picked out "army" (camoflage) flannel for theirs. But I just saw above some Mickey Comoflage!!!! I wonder if they'd wear it? It's so "handsome" (can't say "cute" with them!)

Ok. Yes it is lovely. But. My dd would get a sudden and violent case of the stomach flu within minutes of putting it on!

We had around twenty hair accessories for each girl. What I did was pack in Ziploc bags. I used gallon and two gallon bags. I packed the days clothes with hair bows, panties, hats etc . . . I then marked the day and time DD's were goint to wear the outfit.

The best part was when we exhausted because we did not get enough sleep I could get Dh to help me! None of the clothes wrinkled in the bags and everything stayed nice and fluffy. Because I sucked out a lot of the air I was able to fit more clothes in the suitcase!!!

This was everything for the baby. All of her clothes have to be ironed so I was very concerned about wrinkles.

Here is one outfit. She only had a barrette but the fluffy bows packed just as well.

This is what it looked like in the end.

I am not kidding when I say we brought 40 outfits, Tinker Bell wings, a couple pairs of shoes, and bathing suits and pj's. They all fit in this one suitcase. We were gone for 10 days and I brought two outfits for each day. DD had a seperate suitcase for Costumes!

WOW! That is a wonderful idea! I think I'll be using that next trip! (in 60 days ) Mental Note: Get another suitcase and stock up on Ziplock Gal. size bags...

Here is my newest dress for DD5, not Disney, but could work for the Frog Prince. I also have a A line back to school shirt for DD7 but she is not home right now for pics so I will post it later.

I have a sneaking feeling its to long.

My sewing machine was actually dusty when I got it out so its been awhile since I have done anything with it. But this went pretty well and pretty quick, you gotta love that.

I love the each day in baggies thing. That would make it easier for hubby to get the kids dressed each day!

WHY must they be napping when we want to try stuff on them? I love the look of the pillow case dresses. That pooh fabric is realy cute. I will refrain from saying my usual: "Ohhhhhh!!! You've got POOH on your dress!!!" (or shoes etc) You did an awesome job!

I've been working on some Easter outfits for 2 families and finally have some to show you. My daughter is the model and just got out of the shower, so excuse the hair. The first one is for my niece who is bigger than my daughter.

The next one is for my other niece who is a little smaller than my daughter.

The next one is hers!

I also made this outfit for my 2 sons.

I am also working on some white polos with flip flop appliques on for the 3 adult women on the trip. They will also have some of the matching blue riobbon. Now what for the DHs???
