Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 2

Thanks Lori!

Unfortunately for me, I don't think 10 shoeboxes would fit in my luggage and that's how many I would need because the last time I counted I had 20 plus bows for dd to wear  :rotfl2: :lmao:

Obviously, I'm going to have to leave a few at home, but now I'm thinking maybe I'll just have to ship them to Pop ahead of time!

Anyway, thanks again and you did awesome sewing all those outfits! :thumbsup2

We had around twenty hair accessories for each girl. What I did was pack in Ziploc bags. I used gallon and two gallon bags. I packed the days clothes with hair bows, panties, hats etc . . . I then marked the day and time DD's were goint to wear the outfit.

The best part was when we exhausted because we did not get enough sleep I could get Dh to help me! None of the clothes wrinkled in the bags and everything stayed nice and fluffy. Because I sucked out a lot of the air I was able to fit more clothes in the suitcase!!!

This was everything for the baby. All of her clothes have to be ironed so I was very concerned about wrinkles.

Here is one outfit. She only had a barrette but the fluffy bows packed just as well.

This is what it looked like in the end.

I am not kidding when I say we brought 40 outfits, Tinker Bell wings, a couple pairs of shoes, and bathing suits and pj's. They all fit in this one suitcase. We were gone for 10 days and I brought two outfits for each day. DD had a seperate suitcase for Costumes!

OK you guys. Be nice. DONT be honest ;) ...

This tube dress I did just to re-teach myself simple stitches. It's kinda cute in real life. :cutie:

Then. I got brave and went a leeetle bit over my head skill wise. I'll blame ALL of you for that...

Without a shirt underneath... (DD's name is Norah and she's turning 3 next month, in't she cuuuute?)

With a shirt underneath. (We almost always have a lycra shirt underneath sleeveless clothing)

I have a couple more projects staring at me. One has a LINING :scared1:

Here's one she was especially cooperative with. This photo shoot took far too long. Me, being brilliant, did this when it was nap time. :rolleyes1

Awwww those are cute, not just being nice, ha ha. I love how she looks so happy in her outfits. You know that is something she won't forget when she grows up. I am sure it makes her feel very special. :goodvibes

I know thousands of posts back we were talking about autograph books and someone, sorry I forget who, was able to forward a great one. I believe castlecreations posted a picture of her finished one, as well. I made one also and just want to add a few things having just gotten back from a great, albeit a bit tiring, 13 days.

1. The characters absolutely LOVED it and every single one made a HUGE deal out of it. It is so worth it to have one. If you are planning on doing the autograph thing, I would highly suggest using some sort of a personalized book.

2. The following characters (that we were able to get) are missing from the book:
Peter Pan--not sure how he wasn't there
Horace Horsefeather (He's Clarabelle Cow's boyfriend)
Ratty (from Ratatouille)
There could be more, but these were the only ones we encountered who didn't have their own page. Horace and Ratty didn't even know, but we did feel sort of bad for Peter, since he is a face character and he could see that Wendy had her own page. We had him sign there. We had such fun collecting signatures and got over 60!!!

I am the one who created the book. We found out too about Peter Pan. I need to add Horrace, Remy, Emile and Peter Pan. My DH pdf'ed the book for me because I did it on publisher. I will have to get him to PDF it with the changes. (When he is off current project.)

If you want the Publisher version email me. agomberg@theaimeegombergcollection.com

Here is the sample. For some reason when i saved it as a jpeg for the example it was blurry.

Anyone have any ideas for a boys garden grill outfit? It is on Ds's birthday otherwise I probably wouldn't bother. I was thinking shortalls (it is evening so hopefully they won't be too hot) with a bandana corner sewed into the back pocket. That is as far as I got.

Do you all put shirts on with the denim coveralls for your boys in the summer. I think I would but, again so hot in Sept.

Last year was so hot I vowed to only go back in the winter and here we are again, ha ha.

Now you are all making me want to do an autograph book too. Ds will only be turning two and he would have no clue what it was. 8) But they are so CUTE!

Holy smokes, ok I take it back. Now I am glad I don't have a girl. :scared1: I get to be the suitcase hog in my family. ha ha ha. My 'boys' (dh and ds) get to share one small suitcase.
Love the checked shoes btw, so cute!

A older man at the airport said to my DH . . . son you have a lot of pink suitcases. He said . . . well I have a lot of girls. Plus when everyone is looking for their black bags, I just grab my three hot pink bags and go! Poor guy even the dog is a girl. He cannot believe we have two mini Aimee's!

eta- I love the shoes too. I cannot keep them on her to her life!!! She has not gotten that whole beauty is painful. Luckily the three year old embraces it!

I figured out how to applique! I am so excited. How does it look? I had to stitch over the edges twice to make it as thick as I wanted it.

Shorts to go with this top

IMG_4918.jpg

DD is asleep so she can't try them on.

:woohoo: This is very pretty! I think it came out great! I like what you did with the shorts to coordinate. :thumbsup2

Those making the verticle stripe skirts.. how wide are you making each stripe?

WOOHOO I finally scored some "Friends around the world" fabric at my local Hancock store. I would really like some of the word fabric that went with it. Does anyone know what that is called? I could go back and search for days and probably still not figure it out....TIA
I also found some really cool camoflauge Mickey fabric from Hobby Lobby. I will try to figure out how to post and post it in a few minutes.

I just wanted to give my idea. Walmart has some large plastic pencil/crayon boxes in school supplies that would hold about 6 larger bows. They were only about $3. You could do that and wrap them loosly in tissue paper. Just an idea. But you may also use a baby wipes box, old cereal box (may get crushed), put them inside some shoes (if there not smelly :rotfl2: ), a shoe box, paper towel roll if the bows are smaller. Good luck!

-Michelle

Oh, that's a good idea too! I like the idea of plastic boxes then I know they won't get crushed in my suitcase or carry-on, and if I can fit about 6 bows in each box I could probably get away with 4 boxes! I'll have to go to Wal-Mart and check it out!

Thank-you for your suggestions!!!!

WOW! I can't believe all that fit into one suitcase! I am definitely going to pack the girls outfits in gallon bags, I think it will be so much easier plus I'm amazed at how much you fit in the suitcase that way!

Thanks!!

Thanks!

Actually, that was only half of the clothes. I have two girls. I did not take a picture of my DD3 stuff. I ran out of energy.

I took 2 outfits per day. I know a lot of people said bring enough for half of the trip and do laundry. No Way! I was not going to do laundry on vaca!

I am really funny about the girls being clean in photos. I knew it was going to be 100 degrees and the would be slurping on drinks and eating Mickey ice cream all day long. I wanted clean kids. The ziploc bags worked so well I ended up doing it for my husband and I as well. He loved it.

7000 . . . he he he

My DD new thing is Hercules which she calls Percules. Too cute.

Anway, I want to make her a Meg costume. Having a little trouble finding a greek dress in a 4T. Any help would be great!

Hi I have a few appliquing questions if anyone can help. I've been looking for shirts to do it on and can't seem to find anything without spandex in it. Is it ok to use shirts with a little spandex? The ones I've seen have been 95% cotten and 5% spandex. Would that be OK? Also when we were practicing it seems you see alot of the bobbin thread is that normal? Should I be using the exact same thread in the bobbin as the reg when I'm doing this? What brands of thread do you ladies use for this? Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

Thanks!

I'm with you! No way do I want to do laundry while I'm on vacation! I have two girls as well :) I like the idea of having a couple of outfits for every day...we plan on coming back to the room mid-day for a nap and I'm sure we'll all want to change into fresh clothes! Plus, since I keep finding things to buy for dd4, I'll have to change her twice a day just so she can wear all the customs and bows we have if I keep it up.

OK, I better stop and let all of you talented ladies get back to the business of posting all of your adorable outfits! :goodvibes

Thanks again everyone for letting me post my question :cutie:

Here is my newest dress for DD5, not Disney, but could work for the Frog Prince. I also have a A line back to school shirt for DD7 but she is not home right now for pics so I will post it later.

I take two outfits a day for my Ds too. I do have to do laundry though, I just don't have that many clothes for myself. We get so sweaty too in the morning it is nice to come into the air conditioning rest and change into fresh clothes. Plus we usually go out to dinner so we look a little nicer for that too.

All I can say to this is WOW, that's a lot of clothes for such little people. I did the ziploc bag thing as well and it works great, almost too well. If you are flying make sure you weigh your bags before you leave because it's surprising how little clothes packed tightly can weigh so much.

Taa Daa! Now for DD to wake up so I can show her and have her try it on.
I have a sneaking feeling its to long.

My sewing machine was actually dusty when I got it out so its been awhile since I have done anything with it. But this went pretty well and pretty quick, you gotta love that.

aimeeg, Wow! You are making me realize how unorganized our packing is :)
I love the each day in baggies thing. That would make it easier for hubby to get the kids dressed each day!

I've been working on some Easter outfits for 2 families and finally have some to show you. My daughter is the model and just got out of the shower, so excuse the hair. The first one is for my niece who is bigger than my daughter.

The next one is for my other niece who is a little smaller than my daughter.

The next one is hers!

I also made this outfit for my 2 sons.

I am also working on some white polos with flip flop appliques on for the 3 adult women on the trip. They will also have some of the matching blue riobbon. Now what for the DHs???
