I was born in NJ right in Point Pleasant and lived in Toms River (actually graduated from TR HS East) I live in KY now but still have family in Toms River and Forked River....

I am right by Long Beach Island. Not even a half hour away from Brigantine. I grew up in Point Pleasant and Brick, then moved to Toms River. A few years back we decided to head even further south...we keep inching our way further and further down the shore line. However, I think our next move will be WAAAAYYYYYYY down south...maybe by the mouse, but that is still a ways away for us.

Search ebay for custom Belle provincial. It's the dress not a pattern.

I love that dress! It's $35.00 BIN, not too bad. It would look so pretty with my daughter's eyes. Great, now I've got another idea floating around in my head! ;)

Hey,

I am looking for a pattern for Belle's Blue Dress. My DD is a 4-6 dress size. She really wanted Belle's blue dress. We got the fancy yellow dress as the ultimate potty training reward! Any help or photos of this dress would be great!

Thanks so much!

That's so funny - we used the Belle dress for DD reward too!!

It's pretty basic, really - a jumper with a full circle skirt and a white blouse. (add an apron if wanted)
I haven't seen any patterns for that dress, but I'm sure there are some out there that are really close.

If I see a pattern that is similar, I'll post it.

ETA -- search for
Butterick 4172
Butterick 4715 (this one has a little jacket that could probably be modified to be the blouse
McCalls 4814

Thanks so much for the detailed photos.

I did the Alice in Wonderland dress for DD. It doubles as Dorthy's dress. I think I can make some adjustments to the pattern.

Here is Alice. It was a Simplicity pattern.

Small world indeed! Point Pleasant Hospital is not there anymore, but I'm sure your probably knew that. I was so sad to see it go since that is where I was born and so was my oldest. :sad1: Oh well...the times are a changing. We lived in Silverton for a time, TR North territory-never attended school there though, by the time we moved there I was well beyond my school years. :rotfl: Now that is funny...we lived in Forked River for a short time in between TR and LBI-just to see if I could take living in what I always thought was no mans land! Lacey Twp has exploded-so crazy...they now have a Home Depot in the center of town and Rt. 9 and Lacey Rd are widening to 4 lanes. We visit there a lot since my DD sponsors a pet cougar at the Popcorn Park Zoo and we still have many friends in the area.

Wow...Kentucky is a long way from NJ! Always wondered how I'd adapt to going south. Oh well...I guess I should stop reminiscing and let the conversation get back to all things sewing related! Nice to hear from someone who knows the old home base though. ;)

Wow! This picture is priceless! What are the chances of getting all four of these characters in a picture with your daughter in her little Alice dress? Unbelieveable!!

Um... Dena...
shouldn't you be working on my Jojo set instead of playing?:lmao:

Really, I am kidding!:rotfl2:
Oh, that is too funny Tink!!!! No fun for you Dena, until you get that outfit done!

Hmm, I think I have that fabric, it's like the blue in Arminda's Bambi skirt. I might just have extra of that fabric. ;)

There is a really cool stroy behind the photo.

My DD met the Tweedles. She saw Alice and the Mad Hatter. They were going to do one ride and then sign autographs. We ran over to the bathroom where she changed into her dress. We were gone about ten minutes. When we came back the castmember said sorry the line is closed she can't meet them. I argued a little bit. I was being polite. I explained we had been waiting all week for this. I made the dress. I do not sew and I made this dress. I stayed up until 6:00 am they day before we left to make this dress.

She said we could see them in the parade and they would be gone the rest of the day. I told her we were not going to be here for the parade. I bent over an tried to explain to my daughter why she could not meet Alice. She is three so keep that in mind. DD ran sobbing like some one killed her dog to my Dad. My dad tried everything to console her like ask for a pony I will buy you one. Nothing would console her.

Out of the blue this girl who was maybe 17 came over and said she can have my place! Iv'e been here before it means more to her. I started to ball. I was in disbelief that someone would be so kind to my DD. I gave her a huge hug and so did my DD.

When it was time to meet Alice the Mad Hatter said well if this is not a photo op what is! Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum ran over and she meet them all together! I then noticed the cast memeber who refused us pulled a camera out of her pocket and took pictures!

The kindness of that girl was outstanding. She would not accept anything in return. She was just a really great person!

This is New Look 6361:

If you mean denim overall conversion, I've seen people use a denim strap that goes around the back of the neck and hooks in the same polace as the regular strap. I would just cut the back, finish the cut edge, and sew seam binding to the cut edge part on the inside to use as the casing for elastic. This way, you wouldn't have to unsew the side seam.

Well I am talking more like the blue outfit on the right of the pattern/ Its a halter tie at the back of the neck, but goes all the way down to the ankles in one piece. Thanks for the pattern , at least that is a start!

UMMMM Tink.....am I allowed out of the corner now or am I still in trouble? LMBO, I am actually cutting your fabrics right now! :rotfl2:

I am also trying to upload pictures of my DD in my all new, super spectacular Epcot/Small World outfit that I recently finished...gotta list it tomorrow for my design groups launch!

OK ladies, gotta go sew for Tink now, lol!

Oh My!!!! You just made me cry!! That is soooo sweet!!! Talk about a magical moment!!![/SIZE]

I am soooo indecisive! I won this dress on eBay, but I'm debating getting it like it is, or with one less tier to make it shorter and less full.

shorter.jpg

The picture on the left in the original version with 3 tiers and a ruffle. On the right, I "photoshopped" one tier out :) so its 2 plus the ruffle. What do you all think? My concern is that my DD will just be 3 and that the longer dress may be too long, and too full, and too HOT for a September trip. Does the shorter version look funny? Does it take away from the whole look of the dress?

I can't decide! The girl who makes the dress has been super nice and helpful, but I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy by now!

Any thoughts? Thanks! :flower3:

I think you should go with the original version. I'm sure it will be okay once it's made in the correct size for your dd. I don't think it will be too hote in September. All of Gracie's customs have been made for our Sept. trip and I had them made a little longer to get more wear from them.

Ok here is my first Disney outfit. My dd is 11 and wanted something a little more grown up. This is from a Lizzie McGuire pattern. You might not be able to tell it in the pictures but it has three ruffles around the bottom and ties in the back. What do you think? I will see if I can get her to model it tommorrow.

On another note.....Did anyone watch Oprah yesterday about the twin girls adopted from China. They were abandonded in a textile factory. Well it's funny because the moms were on this DIS board and one posted a photo that her adopted Mia was having a b-day and the other mom IM'ed her. They talked about the girls, the b-days, where they were left, and low and behold got the paternity test....SISTERS! ! ! Upon meeting at the airport for the 1st time the girls took right to each other like the have been together all along. It was a heart felt story. VERY VERY Cute lil girls. Both were named Mia (the parents each chose that name for some reason) one adoptive parent said god told her to name the angel Mia.

Isn't that lovely !

Very cool! Do we have any idea which diser's they are?

Oh, decisions, decisions! If I was ordering this for Destiny who is 2, I would go for the longer version. More twirl factor! We live in Orlando and I personally don't think it will be too hot for Sept. Good luck with your choice.

I'd say keep it the way it is... But if you go shorter you could put a matching pair of capris under it. Yeah, I'm alot of help!!! Either way it will be adorable!
