Sorry!!! I though I had sent it to everyone that asked:scared1: PM me with your e-mail, and I will get it to you !!

Could you send it to me also? I'm working on a autograph book using large tags (from the scrapbooking world), I've used stickers so far, but I have about 15 characters. I could use more! Thanks.

that is great. the tulle work is great. how did you get it to perfectly fall like that?

It wasn't easy - the big mistake I made was to cut the tulle to the length I wanted AFTER I had basically finished the skirt - my mother, who's been sewing since she was a teenager, told me that I should have cut the tulle to the length I wanted FIRST.... So, I had to keep cutting and cutting so the tulle looked somewhat straight. As for the way it fell, I had to gather it and pin it in place onto the bottom (black) skirt before I sewed it so I knew it was going to look OK.. I actually made 4 different skirts during the weekend, these were the last two, and best ones I made.

A question for those of you going in the cooler months.

Are you planning warmer outfits, or just doing with something you can layer underneath if needed? Everything I want to do is designed for warmer weather (which it could be in Fla.)

We're going in February. I'm mainly doing jeans or capris and t-shirts. If it gets cold I'll put a long sleeve shirt under the tee (for a layered look.) I've never been in February - I've heard weather could be anywhere fom 50's to low 80's!!!

We go in November and the weather is hit or miss. I usually had t-shirts that I had made using Mickey heads and just layered them with a long sleeved tshirt if it was going to be chilly. Pants or shorts depending on the weather.

At the start of our vacation it was in the 60s during the day then on our last day--mid 80s! Very unpredictable.

Talented ladies,
I missed a day checking this thread so I am just catching up. Wonderful work everyone!! I won't quote or post pictures but I wanted to tell you all that I did not see one outfit I wouldn't love to put my kids in.

Keep up the good work!! I'll get the nerve at some point to make something!

We just went in February. It was FREEZING!!! It was some crazy cold snap that started the day we got there and ended the day we left :rotfl:

I'm from Louisiana, where we don't really have winters, but even the Northerner's were complaining. I hope you have milder weather!

We usually go for a weekend the end of January and sometimes a weekend the beginning of December. It it totally hit or miss as others have said. I usually do long sleeves and jeans lately. This past January I layered a turtleneck under the one day with a sweatshirt over, it was pretty darn cold. If it is warm, he'll push up the sleeves, if it was too warm I would have to forget the outfit though.

Yeah! I made a pair of shorts between all my emails! Now I couldn't find a pattern in the house, cut the fabric wrong the first time, so wasted a bit! Just need to add some elastic for the waist. It is not perfect, it has been so long since I did any! DS likes them, they are too short from the crotch to the waist, not sure what I did, they'll do but could be better. I might end up making him a new pair. Not sure yet! I wasn't thinking though and didn't make a pattern, so I'll have to wing it again with the next pair. You would think i would learn!

I have a question about doing an applique. How do you do this? Do you trace and cut what you want to do, then apply to the material and sew around it?

How do you apply it to the material?
What kind of stitch do you use to sew around the edges?

What is the simplest way to try this and see if a total idiot can do it?

One can only hope!! We're from Michigan so just about anything will be better than the weather here!!:cool1:

Wasn't someone looking for purple princess toile fabric? If so, I saw it at Hobby Lobby today. I could swear I remember someone saying they were looking for this. There's been so much activity on the board the last couple days I don't dare try to go back and find that post.

Okay guys, how many of you have taken your child to WDW wearing custom outfits and what was the response to your child being dressed up? I had asked this earlier, but at the pace we post on this thread, it's already way behind.

Also I had asked about older children and boutique outfits and someone did say that their child would be. I have been making coordinating outfits for my girls and a couple of little boys that will be going.

Also how many custom disboarders will be there in September?
My kids are small yet, but I can imagin DD won't be growing out of dressing up for Disney any time in the future! I like the attention more than DD, she can be kinda shy, she does get alot of comments and attention when she is wearing her Disney outfits. We have had characters come over from the parade to say hi even.

Someone was looking for blue princess toile, so the family could all match, I think....

I cut out exactly what I want, like a puzzle kind of. Apply heat n bond to it, read the package directions, explains, just iron it on. Then I use a zigzag stitch, test out your stitch. I like it close, but not tight like most, mine has room to breathe. Then just sew. Start with something simple, mickey ears take practice vs a square.

WoW! I'm away for one day and this thread has grown by at least 15 pages. Girls, do we hold a Dis record? I think we should come up with a name for our group or a logo that expresses our love of custom clothes. Who's up to the challenge?

To all who have posted pictures today of your work, GREAT JOB! It is amazing to see how many people this thread has inspired. :grouphug:

:

Gracie is going to wear the Jojo outfit anyway since we'll be dining with her and Little Einsteins is not a hit around here yet.

We will have to meet up somewhere. We can get a picture of them together and post it here.:woohoo:

That would be great! Maybe by then I can convince DH that it's okay to post pictures of the kids. He's a paranoid Dad.

First off-
LadyRob- You are my new hero! Every outfit you have done is amazing- and am I wrong in remembering you really havnt been sewing that long? The Minnie outfit is just tremendous- BRAVO!!!!

Someone mentioned that their kids dont wear their Disney clothes around the house...what is everyone's consensus on this???? Do your kids wear these clothes at home- or are they saved just for Disney? As much as I adore Disney- we cant go more then every other year or so...I love these outfits- but will it be silly to wear them around Iowa???:lmao: The only one I have done so far is Laila's bday dress for her Minnie party- and I am still not done yet- the party is Sunday so I better get scootin';)

Thanks! Destiny wears her outfits around town and even to daycare. She gets lots of oohs and ahhs. Interesting enough, her MaryJane crocs get just as much attention.

LadyRob-
Have you gotten your outfits from Todays*Child*Creations yet? I'm anxious to get mine and was wondering if you've received yours?!

Nope, still waiting! I told her to go ahead and take her time. I really don't need that outfit until November. She was grateful and informed me that she would be giving $25 off her website for the delay. I am so eyeing that Cinderella outfit.

Now to finish the other 10 pages.

wonder why you have to cut it before. I cut the aproxomite length and then gather it with my gathering/ruffling foot then pin inside and sew the layers together.
why before? hmmm

Look what you all have done to me! I think I can actually sew, my home ec. teacher would have been so proud!! My project of the day is a hidden mickey Twirly skirt. I'm jumpin the gun here a bit, DD just can't seem to get the twirl down. Worked with her for half an hour, trying to get her to twirl the skirt, no luck. She just hops all around:yay: Oh, well we have 70 days for her to get down pat!;)

 Tink is going to sew! I love it! PM me your email address and I'll see if I can get you started.
