Does anyone know if there is a pattern linked or tutorial posted for the twirl skirt that has all the vertical strips of fabric? I've been trying to look back and search, but I can't find it.

karrierock - that outfit is darling and I LOVE that fabric! The blue is beautiful.

I made one for Arminda, with a yoke at the top, but it is pretty simple. You take the hip measurement and triple it (you can add a few inches for seam allowances too if you want), then you divide the tripled number by how wide you want the strips to be, then cut them that width by whatever length (plus a bit for hem and elastic casing) you want them. Sew them all together, side by side, trim the bottoms to even up the hem, sew the side seam, then sew the hem and casing for your elastic. (this would not have the yoke at the top).

ETA:Wait, wait! I just realized that it was her hip measurement that I tripled, not her waist! I had forgotten about the whole yoke thing! So, triple the hip measurements to make it REALLY full!

Karrierock- That outfit you made for your DD is adorable! What an imagination you have!! Turning it into a Donald Duck outfit is a fantastic idea!! I have yet to see anything with Donald on it.... it would be unique! I say go for it!! You could even make a matching cap that look likes Donald's for your DD to wear out of the fabric you made the top out of- taht would be darling!

karrierock, I love that fabric! The outfit is adorable and so is your dd!

Seems I'm left out of the "secret societies" as well, LOL! Eh. That's ok. I plan to start listing disney customs on ebay soon, so hopefully I'll be too busy for all three boards. I'll still post here, though. In fact, I've got a shirt almost finished (just needs buttons) for ds that I'll post later.

Hope everyone's having a good day!

It's okay Teresa, I still love you! We don't need to be part of the "yahoo clique"! :cool1: I didn't ask to be invited because I'm not real interested in buying or selling this stuff on ebay and I can't keep up with more messageboards!

Aww, thanks Heather! I'm not upset about it, no not really *sniff*Sniff*:sad1:

GloriB, we'll just start our own little society, right here! party: Could you post your Ebay username, so I can check out your stuff? (Webmaster Doc said you can do that, and even include it in your signature if you want).

Here's my first attempt at ruffled jeans. I have to say they were pretty easy! I'm thinking about actually turning this into a Donald Duck outfit. When I was kid I remember the song M-I-C-K-E-Y- M-O-U-S-E, and Donald would butt in with his name. All the faint mickeys just reminded me of that, plus it's the right colors for him!

Now she can twirl a top! Just can't seem to get lift off with the skirts yet!

Here's a close up of the fabric. I got it at joanns. It would for great for boys shirt or accent for a man's shirt for those of you looking for boy stuff.

This is super! You should be very proud of your twirl pants and top. I think it so great that we can make things for our guys and gals and they love it too!

could someone be so kind as to send me the link to the new board? For some reason I cant send PM's from my neighbors house!

The other board is fine, but it is much easier to keep up with the posts here! You can put your pictures in your post too (you can't on the yahoo group) so it's alot easier to see what is being talked about/refered to. Even though a few have spoiled things, I still like that this board is open to anyone. Hopefully all the ladies on the other board feel free to post here as well. I love seeing all the great outfits - it's not going to be as easy having to check multiple boards. Anyway I'm off to work on some pirate mickey overalls. I'll post pics. here when I'm done. hope to see EVERYONE here later

Thank you! Was yours the Bambi skirt? I loved that, especially the blues. I thought the strips looked somewhat triangular shaped so that was what had me looking for a pattern. I guess it makes sense that the gathering at the top makes the strips look narrower at the top.

I love the idea of a matching hat for the blue outfit. Guess it would have to be a sailor hat.:rotfl2: (Remember my daughter's name is Sailor) and Donald is a sailor. Does any one have a good pattern for one?

I thought the same thing until she just explained how to make it! I thought you had to cut each strip in a triangular shape! :rotfl: Yep, that was my talented sister (Teresajoy) who made the Bambi skirt!

Before I go to bed I wanted to show the outfit I made DD last year, and then she wore it again this year. She has worn it plenty of times inbetween :) Also the shirt my DS is wearing I made for him last year, it's all appliqued. No special shirt this year :sad2: I made myself a skirt to match DD (last year) I got a lot more comments on it this year over last.

Your kids are adorable in the outfits as always!

I made another Minnie t-shirt dress for my niece, who is exactly 3 months older than my daughter. I had enough fabric left over for a 2nd one, my sister just bought another shirt for $3. So, there is a total of $10 for both dresses! They'll look so cute wearing them together! This one only took me 3 hours, I'm getting faster (the first one took about 10 hours)!

Oh your Minnie dresses are adorable! Your niece and daughter are going to be too cute together.

If you remember the black and pink polka dotted skirt I made, it was cut in a triangler sort of shape. It tapered smaller as I got to the top. Here's a link to the pattern I used.

I actually folded the pattern in half so it would be more strip like.

ok ladies: RUN to your nearest target....in the dollar spot section they have black bucket hats (kids size im pretty sure, i was on a mission for toiletties w/ 2 kids in tow so i didnt stop to check) but i did think of all you talented ladies out there.....bling mickey heads, polka dot mickey/minnie appliques, etc

the possiblilities are endless.....for just $1!

I am still gonna post here as well. I love the Dis. I think once you get used to the yahoo format, it is just fine and I just sent through 3 pics no problem in my post on yahoo. The whole point of the other group is to be able to do somethings that are not allowed on the dis without being tattled on. Like listing auctions & pics and selling..... It is not to take away from here but to be a companion board :goodvibes Sarah

my pc is being so slow as usual on the dis so I have given up for the time being to try and go through my pm's.... I need a better proccessor... Plus my dd is sick and my head is kind of achy do I am gonna go nap with her.... I will go through them later.... Sarah

This one is one of my new favs. I call the purple princess. I went crazy with the bling! I added crystals all over the patterned fabric. I also learned it is possible to put too much poof in the ruffles. :lmao: I had to put a rubberband around them to try and get them to lay down.:rotfl:

Love this fabric. Did you get it at JoAnn's *recently*? I haven't seen it at mine, but sometimes their stuff is such a mess that I might have missed it. They put the licensed character fabric together unless it's for babies... or a holiday... or some-other-obscure-way-they-decided-to-organize!

I think I got it last week. I didn't see it at first. I had to go ask someone, and together we looked and looked, and found this one and a couple of others sporadically around.
