OK, here's the pants. I used the tired ruffled pants from YCMT.com, and the instructions looked really easy. I started on them Sunday morning, and I thought I would be finished with them by the end of the day. I just finished them yesterday evening. The first ruffle was easy to put on, but the middle took me a while to get on. The third one at the bottom was a real pain in the neck!

I started with a pair of pink shorts from Old Navy.

The shirts they are wearing are only a temporary piece until I get the shirts made to match. I have to get the Wiggles outfits finished before I start on them though. The matching shirt will be made from the same fabric as the middle ruffle (blue background with pink and purple stars).

ETA: The one in the big, red flip flops is really confident that she is wearing those today.
My plans and her plans aren't the same.

I like the flip flops! The Pants turned out really cute!

I am not gonna leave!! I will still be lurking around here and posting every once in awhile!! In fact. . .as soon as DD cheers up a little, I will stick this little SUPER EASY top on her and stick a bow on her head and make her smile. . .JUST FOR YOU GUYS!!!!

AWWW, you are too good to us! :)

I finally finished another project!

I have ordered a shirt from ebay to go with these. My daughter will have to wear these or she will be totally naked on the cruise!!!:rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: (naked on the cruise!) I love these! Too cute!

These are so NOT disney but they are my first projects and wanted to share. I am on to Disney things now. Thanks for the motivation. I think I figured out the pic thing.

This is a blanket I attempted for a friends baby. Be very glad you can't see the stitching.

Dino curtains for my dinoboy.
100_1241.jpg

Dress made from fabric already gathered(?) at the top for my niece. I will attach sleves when she tries it on.

Good job, the quilt looks really cute. I love the dino curtains too! The little dress is adorable. I love those little shirred top ones !

I use something called "Fray check" on ribbons and material that I have a fraying problem with. I am sure there is the same thing out there with another name - small bottle like glue comes in - it's a clear liquid that you squeeze on the ends and then it dries. If it runs up the fabric, no problem because it dries quick and colorless. Just make sure that you have something under the ribbons you are working on because it will seep through and get on your table. It will dry a little stiff sometimes if too much squeezes out and it will stick to what ever it is laying on if you lay it down before it dries. I use the fray check, hold the ribbons or clothes up and dry with hair dryer for a few seconds.
I have often wondered if clear fingernail polish would do the same thing if you were in a bind ??? :confused3 (After all it will stop runs in pantyhose)
I know some people on here have said htey use clear nail polish on their ribbons.
check out my new avatar! :)

I love it!

Here are some jeans I have been working on. I really like the way they turned out. I think the part I love most is the belt and the ruffles! Two things I can't do for my son!

Hopefully in a week or two we'll have a model for them!

Cute pants! Really nice job!

I made another Minnie t-shirt dress for my niece, who is exactly 3 months older than my daughter. I had enough fabric left over for a 2nd one, my sister just bought another shirt for $3. So, there is a total of $10 for both dresses! They'll look so cute wearing them together! This one only took me 3 hours, I'm getting faster (the first one took about 10 hours)!

:cool1: :cool1: I showed Lydia this and she said very softly, "It's Beautiful!!" I love it! Thank you SOOO much for making it for her!

Before I go to bed I wanted to show the outfit I made DD last year, and then she wore it again this year. She has worn it plenty of times inbetween :) Also the shirt my DS is wearing I made for him last year, it's all appliqued. No special shirt this year :sad2: I made myself a skirt to match DD (last year) I got a lot more comments on it this year over last.

Very, very cute!!! The girls will get lots of attention in those dresses. I laughed at a comment you posted a few days ago....something along the lines of "if you think this dress is too fru-fru, you should see what DD usually wears"! I have a daughter like that, too!

Is there a pattern you can post for the t-shirt dress? I checked your sister's website (great website, btw) under dresses and didn't see it there....?

TIA!
Lisa

Is it just me, or is anyone else sad that the people on here are going to two different chat rooms? It was nice having it all here in one spot. I hate when the "stupid" people ruin it for everyone!   To the snarky people out there who reported people on here simply showing pictures, or listing their stuff on e-bay, I hope you are satisified and happy.  You ruined a perfectly good thing:headache:

Now I'm off to join the other groups:thumbsup2

Thank you!! Last summer, Tessa would ONLY wear skirts and dresses- no shorts, no capris. That changed pretty quick once winter rolled around and she had to wear tights under those dresses (she hates tights).

I based this dress off of this pattern: http://www.fortunecity.com/victorian/operatic/312/tshirt.htm
I didn't do the sleeves, obviously. I thought about it, but decided I was done. I also didn't cut the t-shirt at all. The extra length acts as a lining, so the gathered part isn't scratchy against their skin.

Here's the advice my sister gave me on gathering: "This is how I do it. I mark off the part I'm going to gather into four sections to correspond with the front, back, and sides of the part you are attaching it to. Get some dental floss or other nice thick thread. Then, set your zig zag stitch to very wide and long. Then, you just stitch over top of the floss (don't hit the floss with the zig zag). When you are done, pin the gathered part to your othe part, matching up sides, front and back. Then, I just work one section at a time gathering it up. Pin it after you gather each section. Then, you just sew it together. Make sure your fabric isn't getting caught up underneath when you are sewing. (kind of like getting your skirt stuck up in your undies!)

HTH!

I hate it. . .but like you said. . .I am off playing with the other group as well!! I am still here too though!!!:rotfl:

You ladies are SO inspiring!! I've been lurking on this thread for a while now and I'm totally addicted! Thanks so much to all of you for sharing your tips, ideas and creations!

I have sewn a little in the past but never been too good at it. Since I found this thread I've had such an urge to sew again. I've purchased some material, ribbon and embellishments to make overalls, capris and matching embellished t's for my 7 yr old dd. Tuesday I even hit JoAnn's 60% off sale and made her a twirl halter dress. It came out so cute!

Now my dilemma is that I have all these ideas running around in my head and I have this dinky little sewing machine that I bought mostly for scrapbooking projects. The twirl dress really maxed out it's abilities - LOL! Hmmm, should I break into my Disney trip savings for a new machine.... decisions, decisions...

Ditto for me as well!! I pm'ed you my email address. Thanks!!

Please PM me if there is a place where I can buy some of these awesome things you are all creating!! I really love so many of them and I can't sew at all! I have been searching ebay and have found a few, but some of the really really good ones I "love" are no wehre to be found. Quote

Ditto for me . Please PM me as well. Let me know what you need so I can get my daily fix of the beautiful clothes you ladies make :thumbsup2

Blessed Be,
Tina

yes, 2 other groups are forming, but I am still here as well as with the other groups:thumbsup2

OK. . .Glad that this is NOT ebay so people are not mad because I used their idea!!!

This is what I came up with. . . . Not great BUT DD says that she likes it!!!

I agree with you. I'm annoyed at the "stupid" people, too. :sad2: Now I'll have 3 different places to check out instead of just one. How will I ever get anything done now? :confused3 It was bad enough with only this site. Add 2 more, and I'll never get off this chair.:rotfl:

Chantell

I found it at Walmart!!! YEA!! My favorite place!!!:goodvibes

Unless another DIS'er gets there first for the pink fabric. :lmao: When I spotted it at Wal-Mart, I just bought the whole bolt. Although, we have 2 Wal-Marts near us. I saw it at the 2nd one and didn't buy more. I have no idea what I'm going to do with the fabric yet but I just love it, so knew I had better buy it NOW while I found it. I think I ended up with about 8 yards of it. At the one I saw it at, it was on the New Arrivals shelf we have.
