Sewing has given me something else to do at night besides sit on the couch watching repeats!!

TV? What's that? :rotfl:

I figured out how to applique!

Good job on your applique!! That looks great!

Hi Everyone...I want to make something with this fabric I have but I am not quite sure on what exactly. I was thinking maybe a twirl skirt, possibly one made out of strips using this fabric and maybe solid colors that match the circles???

I like the idea someone posted about dot fabric that matches the colors on this.

princessfws - LOVE the frog princess dress!!

danicaw - I'm not a huge Pooh fan, but that dress is very cute! Great job for your first time!

I've been working on some Easter outfits for 2 families and finally have some to show you. My daughter is the model and just got out of the shower, so excuse the hair. The first one is for my niece who is bigger than my daughter...

I love how they all match, but they are different styles. Very clever! Like UtahMama, I thought of Goldilocks also! :rotfl:

$0.25 OMG!!!!!! I've found myself looking at sheets at yard sales too!! I've never done that before!

PrincessLeighsDaddy - All I can say is WOW!!!! Pink/Green is my favorite color combo!

KrispyI love the girly pirate stuff! Sorry about the ego slam also, but hopefully you know how kids are and can let it slide!

here is my latest outfit-what do ya think?

I love it!

Thanks for all the compliments. I know it is plain compared to what is usually shown on here, but I want her to be comfortable and run around on the playground. She wanted to wear it today, but I told her she had to wait for school!

I've officially lost my mind I think: I cleaned out all her dresser drawers. Got rid of everything that was too small: so I could make room for her custom outfits! I have one drawer dedicated to all her customs!

Today I sat down and started planning my projects for our trip. I know we are not going until the first week of March but . . . my busy work season is rapidly approaching. I will have all August, January and February. Sept-Dec I am way too busy with work to have any side projects!

My DD3 shopped on the photobucket link. It was too funny. We found some good inspiration. I had planned on making the baby smocked dresses. For the times she does not have smocked dresses I am going to make coordinating pillowcase dresses for her.

I went through all the fabric I have bought and started mapping out outfits. I matched their clothes to events and parks. Then I made a list of event, outfit, pattern, fabric and supplies still needed. I grouped all the supplies in labeled ziploc bags. (Just like when I packed.) They all went into a big Old Navy Shopping bag. The bag is temporary until I find something better.

I did have a question for the Mom of this little cupcake . . .

I love this style of dress. Can you let me know what pattern was used or does anyone have a suggestion for a similar pattern? I have some really bright citrus seersucker type fabrics. It is for the Crystal Palace. All the colors match Pooh and friends!!!

That little cupcake is my dd Ireland. I used New Look 6613 for the front of the bodice. I made the straps extra long so I could secure them to the back bodice instead of tying around the neck. I cut strips of fabric for the skirt. I think mine are 5 inches by 11 inches (or close to it). I hope this helps.

This is really cute, and looks even cuter on!! It is perfect for back to school. My dd loves skorts, are they hard to make?

Don't sell yourself short, I think the outfit is wonderful and sometimes you know, less truly is more. I love this and the print is so darned cute! Your DD looks so happy to be wearing her new skort set. Did you use a pattern for the skort? What one? I'd love to try something like this for my DD. Thanks for sharing! ;)

Some outfit from our Jan trip 07...

Trying to pm about Cinderella, but maybe your post count is too low? If you are ok with it, maybe you can pm me with your email, and I could contact you that way...let me know. Thanks!

Thanks so much!!!

Please tell Ireland that Princess Hannah (she renamed herself) loved her dress. She has a fan!!! I love the style very much. I did not want to use Pooh fabric so I found really great Pooh like colors.

Now I have a lot of projects to do!!

I dont knwo if I like the pirate one. Its for the Pirate and Princess party. I haven't done a shirt yet. But I think the skirt needs more. I did the tulle one for my 7yo but I dont have pics right now.

HLAuburn – I have that sheet set! I love it so much. So much that I could never cut it up! But it would be adorable either as a pillowcase dress or with the pieces appliquéd.

lisaNJ – Love the twirly skirt – and it looks like both of your kids do too!

ChevyNat – All of your daughter’s outfits are beautiful.

Sally – Your Pluto appliqué is incredible! I’m not brave enough to try yet. But I’ve only been sewing for a weekend, so we’ll see.

Stephres – Oh my goodness! I love your frog outfit! It is just TOOOO precious!

Hi spongie!

I bought the Brother machine that does the Disney embroidery. Eek! I’ve made a promise that I have to make two outfits a month for 2 years to justify the expense.
We’ll see how it goes.

Hi all,

I'm very new to this -- I've been reading this thread for about a week and decided to join. I am looking for the fabric with "hello" in different languages on it. I just bought the Alexander Henry "Smiles Around the World" fabric and I know from looking at the good ideas on here that the "hello" fabric would be perfect with it. If someone could just tell me the name/designer that would be great!

Hey everyone- we not only have a newbie to this thread BUT a newbie to the DIS!!! This is Halloweentwins first ever post!!!

Hello Halloweentwins and :welcome: to the DIS!

The name of the fabric you are looking at is by Robert Kaufmann and named "Hello in Many Languages". I found it on overrainbow.com

I ordered it last week and it arrived within 3-4 days of ordering it.

What are you planning on making with it??

LisaNJ, I bought the fabric at Wal Mart.... I love that place... ha!

Thanks... like I am not working on enough things already that arent 100% complete lol

I leave in less than a month.. ahhhhh

I know what you mean! I can't bring myself to cut it up for appliques!
:scared: I really want to do something with the whole piece, but DD already has a few pillowcase dresses, so I was thinking something different...hmmm...still looking for the perfect idea.

DD has a Minnie dot pillowcase dress to wear one day. DH suggested I find something matching. This is what I found on an auction site. Will I look silly? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220133559621&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012

I don't think it would look silly at all. I made a minnie dot halter style top for myself and have minnie dot flip flops to go with it (not to mention a minnie dot purse). Little too much all together, but I will wear everything here and there one at a time when we are on our trip. Go for it...its rare you get to behave like a kid again! Did I mention I roam the parks wearing my minnie hat with the ears?...yes, I need professional help...but at least you'll know me if you ever see me! :rotfl:
