I have asked this question of Disney already, but I am not sure that they understood what i was really asking. I am traveling to WDW in November and will have the regular Dining plan. My DH and 2 DS have our own reservation number, but we are traveling with my parents and also my sister's family. While we are there, my dad wants to take my two boys to Biergarten, but my DH and I do NOT wish to eat there. We would like to split up for the evening with part of the party going to Biergarten and the other part (including my DH and me) to Tutto Italia. Is that allowed? Can my boys just present their wrist bands to use the dining plan credit to cover their meal? My dad will cover their gratuity.

I have a similar question. If my nephew goes to whispering canyon and he is on dining plan and I am on dining plan, Can I just use one of my credits to cover him and my sister do the same for one of my kids when we all eat together. OR do I just bring his magic band and do it separate? Kids are same age, everyone has the dining plan. Also, last week we were at a chorus field trip and my daughter used less than one QS meal a day, even though she had 3 a day. She eats very light and mainly vegetarian. Her choices were so limited at the parks that I paid out of pocket mainly for her.(she is not a fan of the veggie burgers, fries, or anything greasy). She would have soup and fruit or a side salad etc. Am I going to have a problem paying out of pocket for her? I have never done dining plan before because it seems complicated with her. Don't want to get stuck with alot of her credits at the end.

You can use any combination of dining plan credits and OOP payment for a meal and not everyone on the plan has to eat meals together. However, you cannot use credits to cover payment for anyone NOT on the dining plan.

As far as I know, all meals from one reservation are loaded onto each magicband. So if you split up into separate dinners or say only sent one person up to order 4 QS meals, any one of the bands could be used for payment. They would deduct the appropriate number of credits (you don't have to have each person appear at the counter).

If the families traveling together have separate reservations, I think the bands are loaded by family/res #, even if you link your ressies in MDE.

So for children, their dining plan info is on their magic band, not only on their parents'?

That's right. We have teens and they often go off on their own. They use their Magic bands and the credits come right off. I usually tell them to save their receipts so I can double check. Never had any problems.

Any persons band will have access to the credits for the entire party.

You might also remember that there is no way to stop them if they are on their own and they choose to spend all of your snack or cs credits.
