Kid's Complete Meal Substitutions?

Can my kids order the entree from the "complete meal" (a meal that covers all 5 food groups) but substitute the appetizer, sides, and dessert with other options from the kid's menu? I see some entrees on the complete meals that they would like, but I know they would prefer ice cream to fruit at least some of the time!

We have never had trouble make substitutions with the kid's meals. However, we haven't used the dining plan so I'm not sure if that would make a difference or not.
