Kids Clubs/Grown UP Dinner?

which kids' club do you recommend and which "adult" restaurant is the most reasonable? we would like to let the kids try a kids' club while staying in the same resort to eat... we are also staying at pop century and don't want to spend a lot of time travelling and will probably finish up the night watching fireworks somewhere...

so, suggest away!! )

What about WL with dinner at Artist Point, and let the kids stay at the Cub Den child care program there. Great resturant, and just a boat ride away from the MK where you can watch the fireworks later.

If by "reasonable" you mean relatively inexpensive, I wouldn't go with Artist Point. It's very good, but it is also quite pricey.

My recommendations for good value-for-money would be either Kona Cafe at the Poly, or Narcoosee's at the GF. Service is quick at both of them, too, which means that you will spend less time at dinner and therefore pay for fewer hours at the club. For either of these, I would go with the Neverland Club at the Poly. It's the best club in terms of theming, and they offer a kids' dinner buffet as part of the price. The club at GF is not themed.

Another possibility are the restaurants around the Boardwalk area, and also those at the S/D. The Harbor Club is walking distance to all of them. Go out to the Menu section on the main DIS page or at allearsnet.com; that will give you an idea of what is offered and in what price range.

My vote also goes with the kids at The Neverland Club at the Polynesian and dinner at Kona Cafe. DH & I have done this the last couple of trips and we'll be doing it again monday night!

That is EXACTLY what we did!! Our boys ages 5 and 9 loved the Cubs Den and asked to go back the following night! (wish we could have afforded it!) My dh and I had a lovely dinner at Artist Point (it's a must do for us on every trip) and after we picked the boys up, we took the boat to the CR, hopped the monorail, did the "loop" and watched Wishes at the MK. It was a really fun night for all of us!

Wanted to add that our dinner at Artist Point ran us around $100 including tip. We usually pay close to that or more when we dine out at "grown up" restaurants here at home, so there was no sticker shock for us!

....or....
do dinner at Ohana...and request a table by the window...they "pipe" in the music for the fireworks...definite Magical Moment for our family (6 adults...kids at Neverland!!!)

wow... thanks for all the suggestions...

i heard a rumor that the neverland club was closed for renovations and they were hosting the kids' club in another location at the poly... but ohana definitely interested me, but then i also felt guilty in that it's a place i am sure the kids would love (if i hear that quote from lilo 'n stitch about "ohana means family" one more time... LOL!)

after looking at some menus, we were thinking of trying boma at AKL... i know a buffet would make dh happy... and some of the selections on the menu had my mouth watering... and the price was better than reasonable! any feedback on the kids' club at AKL?

but kona's menu looks like something we'd like too...

I was going to suggest Boma until I read that you wanted to do fireworks afterward. My girls absolute FAV kids club is simba's clubhouse at AKL. Instead of fireworks you could spend the evening at AKL and have a more relaxing time. Animal watching is wonderful and they have some other programs like storytelling etc.

You could drop the kids in simba's they will serve them dinner there, have dinner at boma and then pick the kids up for some family time right there at AKL.

My girls ask for a kids club to "have a night for themselves" every trip ~

If you want the fireworks maybe try the BC - we haven't tried that kids club but have read good things. You and DH could do cape may or even beaches & cream! Then you can spen time at the boardwalk and watch the fireworks from there or if you passes allow walk over to Epcot.

The Boardwalk also has a kids club and many great restaurant choices as well.

I think deb's site has info on all the kids clubs as well as the menus. Have fun.
