If I register for the Kid's club online in the Online Check In, do I need to also get in line at the port/on the ship to do something to complete registration or sign up? I know I need to get the wrist bands at some point though, but not sure when/where I do that.

I registered online, I just don't want to get in a line at the port or once on the ship that I don't need to be in if I don't have to.

Thanks

Yes as thats where they will put the band on their wrist and also verify your info (along with the password you choose).

You can get the wristband either at the port prior to boarding or once you are on the ship at the Club/Lab open house. Either is fine.

Enjoy your cruise!

In my experience the line in the terminal can be quite long and slow, especially before boarding begins. But if you have to hang out and kill time anyway it doesn't bother me. Many seem to report the line on the ship as short, but in all honesty I think it just depends on timing -- if 10 other families happened to get there in the few minutes before you, there is going to be a line; if nobody else happens to be arriving around the same time as you, no line.

If the line in the terminal looks long, skip it and try onboard. You can actually get the wristband at any point during the cruise; if you don't go to the Club until the 2nd day, you can get it then.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thank you for all your help ! Only 9 days till our 1st cruise.

when you are on the ship, you can go to either the club or lab, so there are two places which typically reduces the line. In my experience, many people go the Club first, so the line at the Lab has been shorter or non-existent.

Thanks you for that helpful hint. I just love all the info on this board.

one time we were super early at the terminal and got in and out NP... but an hour later it was a loooooong line... if it is a long line at the terminal, just sign up on open house day on day 1 at the club or lab

Do you know which one has the shortest lines ?

It's super hit or miss. Our first two cruises the line was INSANE in the terminal and not to bad on board (if the Club is backed up, try the Lab and vise versa). In Alaska, there was literally no line in the terminal when we checked in so we did it there.

Bottom line: if it looks too long in the terminal, skip it, especially if they're boarding or you want to get a picture with Mickey (or whoever the photo op is).

From my experience (registering numerous families every embark), the quietest times on embark to register onboard are around 1.30, when the staterooms open, and then around 5.30-7.30pm, when people are off to the show and dinner. If you've pre-registered online and your child has no medical issues or allergies, it literally takes five minutes...
But, it all depends on the ship, itinerary and time of year. On the classic ships, whilst the line in terminal may look long, it often moves pretty quick, theres less kids to start with and partly because the majority of cruisers are returners and know the system and have pre-registered. The Dream for example, has a lot of first timers, so they ask a lot of questions, and potentially haven't pre registered online because they didn't know they can.

If you're a first timer, and have any questions/concerns, I'd encourage you to register onboard, purely because your guaranteed to have a kids club CM, and they'll have the most up to date and first hand knowledge of the spaces/activities, and if they cant give you an answer, they know who to call right there who can.

Thanks all. I guess there is still an advantage to signing up online because I guess they then have my childs name, check out people, and password ahead of time.

What if you do have a child with medical issues? My daughter has epilepsy. She hasn't had any incidents in 2 years (thank the Lord) but we still always disclose this information. Will this complicate our kids club registration on the ship?

Thanks

Not at all, its just the CM registering will probably ask you a lot of questions as the kids club will want to know everything, theres notes in the system on every child, and as theres 60+ counsellors, we like to have as much info on any conditions as possible so we dont have to call you about anything (potentially asking the same question 2 or 3 times because someone wasn't sure), so for something like epilepsy, they'll ask of any known triggers (e.g. so for some kids its the flashing lights, so the parents might want them moved to the other space if theres something like a dance party...), what to do if anything does happen, when the last episode was, how they react when they are having an episode...
Ive had some parents tell me Ive asked for more information for a 5 day cruise then the kids school has asked in 5 years...

I just meant that it will take a little long than if theres nothing, because Disney want to make sure all the kids are as safe and as comfortable as possible...
