Will my kids be bored at Millionaire? They are 5 & 8. How long does the show last?

The show lasts approx. 30 minutes from seating to finish. The fun part of the show is that the kids can press buttons after each question. I think that a good way to judge whether they will be bored or not is to ask whether they ever watch the show on tv. Turn on the Game Show Network when the reruns are airing and if they enjoy it, take a shot at it. You never know, they may end up in the hot seat!

I think it depends on the kid. My 4 year old son went once and it was a disaster--crawling under seats and trying to run around. My 5 year old niece went and did fine.

My kids were that age when we went and they loved it. They were a bit familiar with the show, though, so that helped. But they liked pushing the buttons, the feel of being in a live audience, and seeing themselves on TV!

At 24 months my DS loved it. We'd say it was even his favorite attraction! But 6 months later he wanted to talk the whole time. My mom fed him lifesavers to keep him quiet. Then he choked on one and we had to leave.

I would think at 5 & 8 your kid would be fine. It's not that long of a show and sometimes you even get kids up there, which is funny. We had a high school group in the audience and 1 student and a teacher got in the hot seat. It was very entertaining!

My DDs love this show...they like pushing the buttons and seeing who will be right...Mom or Dad! lol I think it depends on the kids' personalities, though...some like that kind of environment, some don't.

My 8 yr old DS made it to the hot seat !! It was a full audience too. He had a blast. Kids under a certain age get to bring an adult down to stand next to them and help w/the questions. I can't remember exactly how far he got, but he did get a lanyard w/pins (100, 500, etc) and a hat.

Only downside was I was not allowed to take a picture of him in the hot seat while the game was in session. My DD who was 6 at the time really enjoyed it too, but she also likes to watch it on TV.

It is our families obsession....5 out of 6 of our family memebers have made it into the hot seat....these include my dd6, ds11, dd13 and my dh and myself....my son 10 is the only one not to make it yet...

It is soo much fun because everyone can participate....

General knowledge are usually the first 5...except when my kids get they seem to get questions only adults might know...it's now a running joke...

The rest are trivia...

my 125,000 pt question was where is the tallest Waterfall located? A)argentina b) South Africa C)Venezula d) Brazil....

I got i wrong chose South Africa...it was Venezula(sp)

But depending on your knowledge they can be easy...one lady got a 250,000pt question...What does the company Just Born make a)Cabbage Patch dolls b) ???? c) Peeps d) Jelly bellies

I'm for PA were Just Born is located I knew it was Peeps....the lady didn't trust my answer on call a complete stranger...I was right....  she chose Cabbage Patch Dolls

i too would have to say it really depends on the child. my daughter was 7 at the time and she couldn't get enough (but she wanted to get into the hot seat and didn't make it LOL)

Dh and i kept getting first and second place to go next, switching off. The time he would have been in the seat, they ran out of time. The next time we played, i got in!

the question that killed me was this:

"In the comic book Mandrake the Magician, what is the name of Mandrake's partner in adventure?"

all four optional choices were very similiar. I used my phone a complete stranger and the guy had no idea who was calling him or why lol.

to this day, no one i have met has known the answer. of course I won't ever forget it now LOL

Anyone here know it? anyone? anyone? LOL without googling mandrake? LOL

the other questions were like, which disney character is a pirate (captain Hook) which game is supposed to tell the future (ouija board) what was the name of the woman on the first season of the Bachelorette? (wasn't sure, had to ask the audience, but my hunch was right, Trista. never watched it) which book did J. Heller write ? (it was catch 22, got that).

then at 64,000, the mandrake question got me.

but i hate cruise ships LOL so i was happy with my lanyard.

When we go back in Sept, DH and I are DEFINITELY going to try again.

the best part of the whole thing was my little girl shouting "Yay Mom!" when I got a question right LOL.

p.s. oh, one point of interest. if you want to play and you are disabled and can possibly transfer out of your chair, do it. the keypads on the long cables they give you if you're in a chair do NOT react as fast as the ones on the seatbacks. i know it because i did everything the same way for the game before i actually got on, and the thing was so slow it wouldn't respond.

My little sister was 2 i think, and she had a blast. she was pressing the buttons, and she was very quite....i wish was now! LoL! i got to the hot seat in feb...i got 2 the 32,000 question. If your wondering who did the remake of KILLING ME SOFTLY WITH HIS SONG(or w/e it's called) It was Fugees...i know that know and i'll NEVER EVER forget it!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :hyper: :hyper: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

My kids are 7 and 4 and they really get a kick out of it. Then again they were also having a blast on the airplane playing music trivia with the other passengers.
Be sure to have your kids watch the show at home before you go to let them get an idea of what its all about.
