5 y/o DD plans to wear her princess dress. What about 5 y/o DS? I don't own a tie for him. Nor a suit. But he has a nice Hawaiin shirt that he adores and looks great. It is the most formal item I have for him.

Looking at all the pix, makes me worried that he will be a tad underdressed.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Just get him a pair of slacks and a nice white dress shirt. Wouldn't bother with the tie for a 5 yo. Then he can wear his hawaiian shirt for pirate night.

I'll be renting a tux onboard for my son. While a tux isn't necessary, it is convenient (waiting in your stateroom), reasonable, and less to pack.

We are planning dress pants and ties, no jackets. One will be 12, the other 7. The 7 year old is currently 6 and we are getting ready for a formal wedding right now. This is what they will be wearing, the 6 year old is so excited about his tie (I wasn't excited I couldn't find a "real" tie in his size, but he likes the clip on). JC Penny has lots of nice dress things in smaller sizes for boys.

If I could get my husband to wear a tux, the boys would have one too. Sad thing is, my hubby has a tux he could use!

Compare him to the rest of your party, not the rest of the ship. If he still looks underdressed, pickup a white polo shirt or button down shirt and a dark cardigan or jacket.

I picked up a very reasonably priced pants/white shirt/vest/tie set for DGS when he was 4. He absolutely loved wearing the tie. Only trouble was that he would NOT let me tuck it inside the vest because "then you can't see it." He looked very cute with his tie hanging outside the vest. :)

I have had alot of luck finding suits for DS on Ebay. They aren't worn very much & alot less than new in the stores.

Another ebay set of tuxes here. Less than a suit so there was money left for Mickey vests & bow ties!

Hi - where did you get the mickey bow tie and vest for children? That sounds great! Thanks, Lisa

Last year I got dress shirts for my boys at Burlington Coat Factory that were white, with a black collar, and fancy button covers, they wore them with dress pants, no tie or jacket, and looked great.

ebay. Funny thing is, when I had won the auction, I payed thru PayPal & got a message from the seller asking if I would rather just pick them up - it was a tux shop about 5 minutes from my house!
