Jenny, I know that feeling week! Planning a Disney vacay is like a job, but a fun, awesome job. There are just so many choices and point charts.

You settled on Kidani! :yay: 3 bathrooms will be amazing. Are you booking a savanna view? I need to get cracking on room location requests. What website/maps are you using? Oh and I will take lots of photos in August. :goodvibes

As far as CL goes, I'm sure you won't miss it. We've done CL at the Poly and CR and were not impressed at all.

Did you book AKV today?

:goodvibes I did book Kidani today. :woohoo: That 3rd bathroom spoke to me. Sweet Derek, the CM, spent tons of time with me. We requested the 4th bead, which puts an elevator just a bit away on either end. We also did a high floor. I know some people like the ground or lower levels but I thought it was majestic looking out over into the whole savannah during our last stay at Jambo on the 5th floor. :cloud9: Also did the dedicated 2 bedroom so no one has to sleep on a sofa sleeper. :thumbsup2

He also helped me with my THV request. He earned his keep today.

The concept of 6/2/2 gives me a headache, I think you are making the right call!

Bead 4 upper floor huh....Interesting! You can always WL those 5 for Jambo if your heart is really there and I'd imagine the chances for that coming through is pretty good.

Interesting how? :scared1: :hyper: Is that bad? I felt good. :upsidedow :rotfl: Give it to me straight lady!

Oh gosh, not at all! I don't think from everything I've heard, you can go wrong really with any room location there if you have Savanna view. Don't know obviously since I've never been. It just never occurred to me to request by "bead". LOL! I can see pro's and cons of both lower and higher floors, that would be hard. Closer to animals or vista view? I have no clue what would be better!!! I think the only truly bad thing could be a major hike, which seems possible there, but in the big picture of things, who cares!

:rotfl: The 4th bead or pod in the Kidani necklace puts an elevator at either side of the next set of rooms so it looks good to me, not a hike to the elevators. Give me your email and I'll screen shot you the map and show you if you want to see. Thankfully I can change requests about 100x if need be. :scared: Or I'll post the map to my FB and tag you. Über geekiness right there.

:tink: 29 days until ADRs!!! :tink:

:figment: 209 days until WDW!!! :figment:

Started a thread over in the DVC section about Kidani requests. popcorn::

Looks like it's time to focus on ADRs and tweaking the itin to reflect one less day. :surfweb:

Hope everyone's planning is coming along smoothly. :flower3:

:) I have the map so will look at it! I've definitely heard of a lot of people requesting to be close to the lobby. I guess what I don't get, having never been there, is aren't there multiple elevators? Or are they all in the lobby area? I guess it depends on where you are going but for me I think if it came down to close to the lobby but farther away from the pool...I'd go for closer to the pool. That's when I want a shorter walk.

I think.

And yes, you can change 100x and it's just a request so really, it's all a crap shoot (but worth making the request for sure). Which reminds me...we should make a room request on our VWL ressie. Which, as of today officially has the last 3 nights waitlisted for either BWV or BCV. We decided keeping the first 3 at VWL made sense based on our plans for MNSSHP, Haunted Carriage ride and AP!

ADRs are around the corner, we were just chatting about those this weekend and think we have a general plan but would like to see official party dates first. Looking at the hours it's pretty obvious but you never know! Right now I think we are looking at the following

Breakfast: The Wave
Lunch: Les Chefs
Dinner: Artist Point, Citrico's, Flying Fish, Brown Derby

I have a question for you....have you ever heard of a jewish oven?

Seriously...on Rosie's tr she said that they were having trouble with an oven and the repairman said it was a jewish oven so it wouldn't work some of the time? I thought it was a little odd and funny.

ok...now back to trip planning.

We want to do the Haunted Carriage Ride too. :thumbsup2 It looks like so much fun! We're thinking of putting the kids in their own carriage to scare the crap out of them.

Your potential ADRs look fabulous! :thumbsup2 I've always wanted to try the Flying Fish. I hesitate to make too many with F&W but don't want to be stuck starving and broke. The portions look teensy tiny to me.

I hope your waitlist comes through. :wizard: I was talking to a friend today and I literally couldn't have chosen 2 more removed places to stay. :lmao: I'm a knob.

I decided to request 3rd floor or 4th floor, near lobby. Another sweet CM spent a while on the phone with me today but she gave me all sorts of fun tidbits and things to do. Love her.

Cherie, I have to be honest with you....jokes about Jewish people and ovens are not funny. It's racist. Millions of Jews died in ovens during the Holocaust. The *joke* is that sometimes the ovens didn't work properly because they were so full of humans about to be burned to death. It's terrible. Truly. As a Jew, I find it highly offensive. Remind me not to go to that trip report. Sad that people still find this stuff funny. It's disgusting. I believe you when you say you didn't know what they meant but trust me, the repair man did and your friend may or may have not. :sad1:

Ohhh between you and Cynthia, I'm going to end up booking an October trip. :rotfl:

I need to head over to your thread on Kidani requests. I need to make requests for our 3 nights and my brother's 8 nights.

Nice diversion chicken. :rotfl2:

Yes, you best be booking some October time that overlap with ours. :grouphug:

Of course not!
I think you ladies should come to NYC for Fashion's Night Out. Or Restaurant Week. Or Spa Week. :lmao:

I choose d) all of the above. But please try to come. Not that you'd want to but both my villas have plenty of room if you're wanting to visit. Kidani even has an extra bathroom. :snooty: I'm not sure Chloe will let you have the top THV bunk though.

You're going to have more bathrooms than bedrooms. Gotta love DVC.
I'm looking at WL or GF for October. :rolleyes1

I'm so sorry! I didn't even think of it that way. I'm sure Rosie didn't either.

After a little searching, I think this may be what he was referring to..

"Sabbath Mode
The Sabbath Mode includes models that have unique software/hardware programmed into them that specifically address the concerns of Sabbath observant Jews. Some models come with a built in Sabbath Mode option whereas others require it to be programmed by order."

Ovens
There are a number of issues in modern ovens regarding the kosher consumer. Many ovens have thermostats that pump up the heat when the door is opened to compensate. Others have lights, digits, and sensors that are activated as well when the door is opened, or the temperature increased on the holidays when certain cooking is permitted. Additionally, many ovens automatically shut off after 12 hours and for safety reasons, most ovens will not recover from a power failure in the on position, meaning that food will be cold for the duration of the day.

Ovens with the Sabbath Mode take care of these concerns by deactivating many of these features. No lights, digits, solenoids, fans, icons, tones or displays will be activated or modified when the Sabbath Mode is activated. In many cases this mode will also prevent the oven light from going on or off as the door is opened or closed. In other models, however, the bulb must be unscrewed or the light left on for the entire day. A delay is built into the temperature controls so that the oven temperature can be raised or lowered on the holidays (though not on Shabbat). Many ovens have a timed bake feature that permits one to have the oven go off after a fixed period of time, however it is usually followed by an alarm. The STAR-K models with timed bake do not have an alarm after the time is up nor do they have an icon that is cancelled when the door is opened. To ensure that food will stay hot in the event of a blackout on the Sabbath, most Sabbath Mode appliances will turn back on once power is restored and will not shut off after twelve hours of continuous operation. Warming drawers should be treated as standard ovens since they present the same issues.

Ovens certified as Sabbath compliant have various protocol depending on the model that determine how they can be used on the Sabbath. If opening the oven door turns on a light, the bulb should either be removed before the Sabbath or Holiday or the light should be turned on at the control panel and left on for the entire Sabbath or Holiday. Some models that have an indicator light that cycles on and off during heating instead of a digital temperature readout can be used on the holidays when the light is on. Most Sabbath compliant models lack a delay in the temperature change process and therefore the temperature cannot be changed on the holidays.

DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT!

:rotfl: Cynthia and I overlap quite a bit I believe. You don't want to miss toasting with the cool chicks, do ya?

You don't! You really really don't!

Of course not!
I think you ladies should come to NYC for Fashion's Night Out. Or Restaurant Week. Or Spa Week. :lmao:

I agree, all of the above. It has been far too long since I've been to the city.

Spa week huh? :rotfl:

I like your choice!

I'm at WL for at least part of my dates. Just sayin'...

We want to do the Haunted Carriage Ride too. :thumbsup2 It looks like so much fun! We're thinking of putting the kids in their own carriage to scare the crap out of them.

:rotfl:

We are looking at the 18th or 19th I think. Whichever one MNSSHP ends up not being on. I think it's the 18th based on recent park hours but they haven't officially released dates yet.

Your potential ADRs look fabulous! :thumbsup2 I've always wanted to try the Flying Fish. I hesitate to make too many with F&W but don't want to be stuck starving and broke. The portions look teensy tiny to me.
I share your concern. I'm worried it's too many ADR's for the number of nights we have, I'd been thinking BD for lunch (though it's a rather large lunch) but liked Mary Ellens idea of doing it at park closing and walking out to an empty DHS after. It's funny, when I was at F&W in 2004 we ate there almost every night and I don't recall being broke, or starving. It gives us 2 nights at F&W and almost all the lunches if we want, question is if that's the right mix or not.

I hope your waitlist comes through. :wizard: I was talking to a friend today and I literally couldn't have chosen 2 more removed places to stay. :lmao: I'm a knob.

I think that's probably a good thing actually. As you are with the whole fam, you'll want time away from the crowds and you've got great spots for that. Not to mention that the points are high and availability scarce at 7 mo during your dates! You are getting way more for your points with the choices you made that suits a family better (I think).

I can vouch for the fact that Rosie truly thought it had something to do with the Sabbath (as I read the post) and was asking the question because she didn't know what the repair man meant and was confused. Heck I was confused reading it, but that's Rosie! She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and would be horrified that it might have been taken that way. I honestly don't think it ever occurred to her, and while it probably should have, I'd like to believe it didn't. If that is what he meant, I'm sickened beyond belief.

Signing on! Can't wait to hear about your Oct trip! We are going in October of next year, and I can't wait to hear about all your plans. It will help me plan!
