Hey girlie!! :lovestruc

I am sooooo happy about your decision- I think the THV look really cool, but they are a PITA without a car (a bus to a bus to a park? HUH??? Do you really want to ride through all of SSR, get off at the last stop, and wait AGAIN for ANOTHER ride??? I think not! :snooty:). If you had a car, well, then ok, especially if you are looking for some alone family time. I would definitely like to try them someday, if I could ever get in at 7 mos- but I know I would need a car to be there. SSR is humungo, and the THV are even further than that.

You know I love AKV (just booked a Jambo GV for Nov 2-7 next year- WOOO HOOOOOO- pool table and all!!! :woohoo::yay:). I love Jambo for the grandeur, the hustle and bustle- but Kidani villas are nice....and that extra bathroom is awesome! :thumbsup2 Plus you can get bread service night and day at Sanaa, and...that could work! Really, from Kidani lobby to Jambo lobby is a 7 minute walk, we do it all the time when we're there- it's no biggie. I would let T&T do it without us, definitely, to go get QS at Mara, now that they're older.

Will you want hustle bustle or more quiet? To me, other than the bathrooms, that's the biggest difference between the two.

Ok- going to find that link to the new TR....:dance3:

The lack of a CS is the only drawback to Kidani. The two things that pushed us to book Kidani over Jambo for August are 1. the extra bathroom and slightly larger villas and 2. it's newer and the villas were not converted from standard rooms. I did some research and found that because the Jambo villas were converted from standard rooms, they tend to be slightly smaller. Oh and the master bath at Kidani sold me. I NEED to have a fabulous bathroom. :lmao:

I'd love the room and extra bathroom at Kidani but the energy at Jambo sounds more lively. :upsidedow Still semi-undecided other than the fact that we want to stay there.

I'd love to buy some points at GCV. And I'm with you on buying direct from Disney. Even though resale is cheaper, I kind of like going directly to the source. Plus, I love my guide. He's awesome.

How difficult would it be to get GCV for February at the 7 month mark? Is that typically a busy time?

I think you'll be fine in February. Just call that morning, first thing. The only issue I'd forsee is if it's over holiday weekend.

I might have to get your guide's name. I liked mine but haven't heard from him in a while.

 I knew you'd be happy. I am all about the hustle and bustle. :thumbsup2 What's bread service? Saana is on my must-do list thanks to your report and food porn. :thumbsup2

We won't have a car for sure. The transportaion issues don't really worry me but the THV are really without a good view. I live in the sticks already :rotfl2: don't need the same view on this next vacation. An Epcot resort would be fun too due to F&W and the ability to walk but know they'll be super hard to get into. So it looks like I'll be changing my entire 10 nights booked at the THV. I'm sure I'll make someone very happy to be able to nab those nights. I've read they are next to impossible to get past the 11 month mark. I'm not too worried about changing to the 2 bedorom at SSR though.

And Disneyland for your birthday one day? I promise you'll love it. Disneyland holds more magic than all 5 other parks put together. pixiedust:

Since you like a great view, have you considered BLT?

I'll message you my guide's name on FB. ;)

I have thought about BLT but honestly, the decor totally turns me off. The SV compares in points to an MK view but I haven't seen a view that doesn't involved looking over the parking lot to see MK. I would love to see any photos you may be aware of that show otherwise. I know the location is prime but can't get over the Ikea decor. I am a very casual person as far as my style goes. :hippie:

::yes:: PM on FB his/her name. :flower3:

LOL Ikea decor! I think Disney attempted to keep with the "contemporary" theme. I totally get not liking some of the Disney decor. The bedspreads at the Poly are so outdated. And I've never booked WL because the decor doesn't appeal to me at all. The Yacht Club is amazing. Loved the decor there.

We've had MK views at both the CR and BLT and they ALL look over the parking lot. At night when you're watching Wishes, you don't even notice. But during the day, it's very noticeable. I would NEVER waste points on a MK view again. EVER. We just get Lakeview. I won't do standard view b/c the thought of being on floors 1-5 do not appeal to me.

We've had a MK view at the Poly and it was AMAZING. Distant, but amazing. :cloud9:

I booked a SV at Kidani for August. I'm looking forward to watching the animals over my morning coffee. I'm hoping the giraffes hang out near our room.

That's good to know. So a lakeview is the way to go? Do you have any pics? Or any on FB? The location is insane to me. It's perfect.

I agree about the WL. The villas are very outdated or were in 2007 when we saw them. All hunter green with moderate brown cabinets. And mauve. :rotfl: I've always hated mauve.

I wish the Poly would add a DVC section. The Poly appeals to me on so many levels. It's so Brady Bunch Hawaii to me. :lovestruc

I;ve seen pics of both the Yacht Clun and BWV and both are totally my style. I really enjoyed OKW too. Their decor was perfect. :thumbsup2

What requests are you making for Kidani if any? I've been researching like mad :hyper:

Lakeview is definitely the way to go. Certain rooms face the portion of the lake where the Electrical Water Pageant passes by. And there are some lakeview rooms that also face part of the MK. I have photos on FB. I am going to add more tonight.

I agree that VWL are outdated. I even think the hotel rooms are outdated.

If DVC added a section at the Poly, I'd buy there too! I  the Poly. The rooms are big and the location is perfect.

I visited the models at BWV November 2010. On the same trip, a CM took my mom and I to see the BCV. I prefer BCV. I think the BWI rooms are beautiful and the location is amazing, but the rooms at BWV are not my thing. Way too much pink in use at BWV. I think BCV and BWV both need a major refurb.

Yacht Club, on the other had, is AMAZING. The rooms are beautiful and the location is amazing. It's a lot quieter than the BC. If I had a choice, I'd stay on the YC side. I believe almost all of the YC rooms have balconies. At the BC, you may not get a balcony or you may just get one of those tiny standing room only balconies, which defeats the purpose of even having one. Well, unless you plan on acting out a scene from Romeo & Juliet.

Ooooh under 100!!!

:rotfl2: Silly huh? I am 99% certain I will be changing to a 2 bedroom at SSR for 5 nights and then a 2 bedroom SV at AKV for 5 nights. I am debating on doing Club Level at AKV. :surfweb:

How's your Valentine's Day trip planning coming?

I have read amazing things about the Yacht Club and the decor is totally my style. Think they'll a DVC section or not because of the BWV and BCV?

SOOOO excited about this!

Between The Four Seasons and Grand Floridian DVC, I may have to just spend the entire summer at WDW. :rotfl:

I thought of you right away! :woohoo: Also DVC members will be able to get the TiW card with an AP. Mama just saved a whole lotta dough. :cool1:

TIW is so much better than the DDP.

Since you're getting an AP, you're going to have to plan another trip. ;)

Oh and I think the DVC announcement settled my resort indecision regarding my tentative October trip. I'm going to HAVE to scope out the GF before buying points there.

The TiW kicks botty over the DDP for sure! I'm so excited.

Of course you have to scope and report back!!!! It's a beautiful resort. This now gives me a Monorail line DVC option. :woohoo:
