I'll be your posting friend, too-
So happy you can FINALLY book your vacay in just 11 days!!!![]()
Only 9 short days!
Booking THV for the entire time and switching over some nights to SSR is such a good idea. My guide told me when we bought in, book the hardest category first at BLT (MK view). I guess it applies to SSR also. THV is so much harder to book than SSR.
From what I've read THV are impossible right after the 11 month because are are so few of them. People love them or hate them. They are pretty original so I can see why. My connundrum (sp?) is making it feel like two resorts so my plan is to explore different parts depending on which part of the resort we're staying. When we are in the 2 bedroom we are going to eat at the Turf Club and hang at the bigger pool. During the THV portion we'll take advantage of the huge deck and BBQ and I'll make DH make some fab piece of meat. We'll chill at the smaller THV pool too. Not sure when we'll throw in golf and spa but I'm thinking during the 2 bedroom part. I'll leave shopping in DTD and taking the boat over for the THV.
What do you think?
Feeling better? Any ADR decisions?
I definitely think it will feel like two different resorts. The THV seem so secluded. And SSR has a great pool. I saw it when we were there buying more points.![]()
I love your dining ideas for both parts of the resort. It will definitely feel different.
Are you thinking of starting out at SSR? Or at THV?
I feel horrible. I probably should not have went to work today. I just need a long weekend to get over this never ending cold.
So far, nothing firm for ADRs. We're trying to decide where to have my niece's 1st birthday lunch or dinner. I'm thinking the castle, but the food is so mediocre. And my mom and I are also trying to decide on a place for my dad and uncle's 60th birthday dinner. So far, Narcoossee's and California Grill are on the list. I'm leaning toward Narcoossee's.
8 days!!!
Have you started planning ADRs?
Thanks for the validation.I'm getting so excited to book. At this point I'm set on Rose and Crown, Saana, and The Turf Club. I have lots of maybe but those are on my must try list. I'm attempting to try all new places.
We loved Cal Grill. Great sushi and wine list.I hated the food at the Castle, like one of the worst meals of the trip next to Chef Mickey's
but the Castle is so iconic. What about 1900 Park Faire at the GF for her birthday?
This time next week, you'll have THV booked!!!
Great dining choices! I'd love to try R&C.
The food at the Castle isn't the greatest. It's the whole eating inside the castle deal that sells it for us.
1900 Park Fare is an option too. Plus, the GF bakery could do an amazing cake.
Oooo, a cake from the GF bakery would be delicious! Do all resorts have a bakery? I'd like to get one for Chloe's bat mitzvah.
I'm not sure. I know you can order specialty cakes at the GF, CR, BW, YC/BC, WL, and AKL. Last summer, we ordered a cake at the CR and had it delivered to our room. For my dad and uncle's 60th, we're either going to have the cake at Narcoosee's or Cali Grill. For my niece's 1st birthday, we need to pick a restaurant first.Have you checked out the cake thread? The cakes are AMAZING!
Only 5 short days!!!
Hmmm, I need to change my ticker...
