I'm not packed yet. My plan is to do most of the packing tonight and just dump a few last minute things in tomorrow. I'll be out all day tomorrow, so I really need to get as much as possible done tonight. And I have to remember to put the APs in my carry on.

We're leaving at 5:00 a.m. on Friday morning to drive to Maryland. My nephews will get hair cuts and we'll nap. Then, it's off to the airport.

Weather should be back to typical summer pattern til you get here. We had rain, rain, rain, the last couple days.

:ccat: 97 days until DVC reservation!!! :ccat:

:goofy: 106 days until Disneyland!!!

:stitch: 247 days until ADRs!!! :stitch:

:dumbo: 428 days until WDW!!! :dumbo:

Almost double digits until Disneyland!!!! :woohoo:

I will continue to countdown alone. :rotfl: Have been looking into a possible Disney Cruise. Anyone?

:yoda: 95 days until DVC reservation!!! :yoda:

Good Morning!!

I see some double digits for you on your DVC and sooooooo close to double digits for your Disneyland trip!!

Today is one of my favorite days of the year. My teo younger kids started back to school today. One sophomore and one senior. The older one starts on Wednesday.

:rotfl: Favorite day of the year.

I hate back to school.

I probably sound terrible.:lmao: But, I am a stay at home mom and my life during the summer is rather boring. When they are in school I am at least running them around and I do more. To me it is a winning proposition.

You don't sound terrible, you sound honest. I prefer the summers as a *working* mother. Love them up late, sleeping in, going on the boat all of the time.

I love the sleeping in too.:rotfl:

Sometimes I wish I still worked. Lately more than others. I am trying to write a book, I may never get anywhere with it but it is good mental exercise.

A very good thing to investigate!! And YES a cruise is much greater than a trip to WDW!!

Really? Do tell......:hyper: popcorn:: I am so interested in possibly adding one to the end of Chloe's bat mitzvah trip and knocking off those days at the park. :surfweb:

I have a few different ones I started that have strong female protagonists. I love the YA books aimed at teenagers genre and that is where I am aiming at.

Good for you!!! :goodvibes

So when will this cruise be planned for?

It's a VERY slim possibilty. It's a lot of money to spend for 3 nights that's for sure. It would replace 3-5 nights at WDW on the tail end of Chloe's bat mitzvah trip.

What a fun idea and a great way to make it more exciting. They are rather pricey.

Before we had DS7, we went on a Disney cruise each year. We have only gone once in the last 7 years and I miss it!!! From the moment you are greeted as you enter the ship until you disembark, you are fully submersed in an extravagant Disney experience. The kid's activities are incredibly fun. The cast off party is great! The theme nights are better than MNSSHP or MVMCP! The dining is incredible. Each dining room is a totally different dining experience.

If I were to go again, I would book a verandah room again. The lower category rooms are very small and closed feeling. Having the balcony felt like it gave me so much more space, even though the room dimensions were probably the same.

The bathrooms are super small. I mean SMALL!! Especially the shower. The shows are really nice.

Be prepared for the ending costs to be way more than you anticipate. They sell so many cool things and it's so easy to sign your life away, lol.

My oldest would have ditched us the entire cruise. He loved the kid's activities. And Vivian from Brazil remembered him from the soccer game at Millenium Village when she worked there in 2000, so she made so much more magic happen for him!! Our rule was that he had to do excursions with us and had to eat dinner with us. The rest of the cruise he was at the kid's club as soon as he woke up and wouldn't return to us until they closed down. He really wants to go on another as a graduation present this spring.

Since he didn't want to hang with us, we took full advantage of the different activities for adults. We went to cooking demonstrations, stage tours, etc. On one of the stage tours we recognized one of the dancers from Hershey Park was part of the cast onboard the cruise. Once we mentioned something, she arranged for us to meet up with her, and she made character meet and greets all the more magical. Also casually winked and nodded to us at the shows once she'd spot where we were sitting.

Aww man!!! Now I want to go on a cruise!!!

Really? We were going to go to MNSSHP. Will a 3 night have a theme night or is it too short? I need to look into a 4 night but there is NO WAY Michael will go for extending the trip and I can't imagine less than 7 park days. :hyper:

My first quote was a verandah room. I also looked into an oceanview room with an inside room across and it was almost $800 less.

We're going to feel cramped after having a 2 bedroom villa.

I can only imagine. We'd stay away from any excursions though as we really like to explore on our own. With only 2 days in port, one in Nassau and one at Castaway Cay, the most I'd do is rent rafts and float the days away. :cloud9:

That's very cool. I love that he could have some freedom but in a structured environment so to speak. You can't wander far when on a ship. :thumbsup2

You're making me want to go too! You make it sound like a perfect ending to some park madness. I agree that no matter how fun WDW is, it's exhaustin no matter how you slice it.

About four chapters. I write when thought strikes me. I use my phone even to write it.

That's really neat. I'm proud of you. Quite the challenge. I'm sure it will be fulfilling in many ways.

My son's 2nd grade teacher told us about a "secret" probably not so secret anymore, area of the ship with lounge chairs. They would get an inside cabin and use that area to relax and enjoy the boat. I think Deb Wills talks about that area on her site. Have you checked out her info about the cruise yet?

Each time we entered the boat, they tried to send us to topsiders to eat lunch. It's a madhouse up there that first day. Plus remaining seating was usually outdoors with zillions of people passing by looking for seating. I'm too prissy, give me indoors and airconditioning, and no insects flying around!! We'd go against the flow and head to parrot cay for a nice relaxing lunch. They even had some old familiars there for lunch, strawberry soup like at 1900 Park Fare! Mostly it was the same foods on buffet that they had upstairs, so either way, you aren't missing out on any goodies. It's just based on atmosphere and dining preference.
