I would appreciate your help. I am curious, what is Kidcot?

Is it for a certain age?

Does it take a certain amount of time?

Thanks for your input. I have never heard of it until recently.

Hi momxx5
Kidcot is really a term used for different creative activity centres that are set up at the different pavillions around World Showcase Epcot for children. The are really best for younger children or older children who just like to be kids. When I took my DS(5 at the time) he made a mask and at each pavillion around the world showcase he collected a stamp that said Dreams in each language. At most of the countries they also wrote his name on the back of his mask in the corresponding languages. He could sit and decorate the mask at each little table for as long as he wanted.. It was a great rest for the adults and we could have one of us stay with him while the other went and did a little shopping or such.
He loved it.
I'm not sure what they are doing now but I bet that the kids will love it.

I'm sure my kids would love this activity. But isn't it inconvenient to have to carry their (drippy, gluey, sequin-y) creations around for the rest of the day? I'd like them to participate, but I'm not sure I want to invest the energy into protecting their creations.

My 3 year old enjoyed it, as did my 8 and 11 year old nieces. I enjoyed taking a break in the shade, sitting and talking with the CM's who worked there. We just stuck the mask in the stroller, no problem.

My DD loves decorating her mask at Epcot! In fact, we have several of them around the house now! We do just like some of the above posters - one of us will sit with DD, and the other goes looking around.

Its not really a messy problem carrying it around; (they use glue sticks) - but its mostly markers to color the mask with. And, of course, they get their stamp on the handle of the mask.

Again, my daughter loves making the mask and visiting each country (and she knows if we skip a country too!) In fact, on our last visit, my two teens made a mask too!

You may want to set up a time limit in advance - my DD could sit there for hours coloring on her mask!!!

Couldn't help but comment on this...we went 2 yrs ago and dd loved it at age 3. Again, this past April at age 5 she still loved it.

As a side note, when we went to AK in April..they also were doing a "Kid Kot" program with several stations throughout the park focusing on animals: survival, hunting/eating, habitat, behavior, etc. Great learning experience for those of you who barter with teachers insisting that a Disney trip IS an educational trip as well.

Again, my 5, soon to be 6, yr old dd loved these special areas/activities set aside just for her age group...personally made her feel special as well as having a fun time and chance to socialize with others within her age group. We will do this again if she desires.

Whatever you decide, it WILL be a magical trip!!!!! Enjoy!!!!!
