Has anyone ever participated in Kidcot at Epcot? I read that each country has a craft activity, but out of all the times I've been there, I've never seen anything like that. Is there a certain place to start? Any advice? Is it fun/worth it? Thanks!

Every country and the building at the Land (where Soarin' is) has an activity. They can make little masks. DD has done the activities while waiting for the adults to ride Soarin' and the one in Canada while waiting for our table at LeCellier. They are cute but not that thrilling to DD. She loves doing crafts at home but at Disney she knows that she has a choice to be on a ride :rotfl: Actually Epcot ends up being very low on our priority list while at Disney. We usually go one night to eat and see Illuminations but DD isn't that thrilled by Epcot in general. There are very few rides for them and visiting the countries is not very exciting for a 4 year old.

Yup...we love it. I have 7 year old DD!

There is a craft spot in each country. You decorate a mask and then collect an earring from each country.

Here are a few spots from Jan 2008.

Canada.......In a cave down the garden path towards Le Ceiller.
UK.......Toy Store
France ..... in a little gift shop past the pastry shop.
Morroco...........in the market
Japan........past the oysters in a toy store way in the back.
US.......off to the right of the tower.
Italy.........on the right going to the fountain
Germany.........in the toy store
China........in the shops down in the back
Norway.....shop on the left...the ride is on right
Mexico..........in the market on the left

I think that's it????:thumbsup2

I think there are also 4 stops in Future World --- the kids color a charm and it is hung on a lanyard type necklace....the stops are The land building(in front of Garden Grills), the acquarium building, Test Track and the other escapes me.....they are a lot of fun to do and make a nice souvenir!

My boys were 3 and 18 months and they loved the Kidcot experience! We purchased an Epcot passport and they had it stamped at the Kidcot station in each country. The CM would write a greeting and their name in the language (Chinese, French, etc ). A great experience! :thumbsup2

My dds, then 7 and 5, really liked decorating the masks at Epcot. It gave them a chance to unwind from all the excitment of Disney. It was actually a little hard to pry them away, and once they knew there were "charms" to be had for their masks at every country they wanted to visit every one! All of us loved Epcot!!

My daughter really love Kidcot; and I would highly recommend the passports also. These are alot of fun - the cm in each country are really friendly and engage the kids in conversation. It was fun to see what they wrote.

At christmas time my niece and nephew had each CM at the kidcot tables write Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas in their language. It was very fun and the kids loved it.

Both my kids love Kidcot. We have made it to all the stops in Future World but have not managed to collect all the country stops.
If you get all of the stations you take (a lanyard in future World. The mask in the countries) the finished collection to Guest Relations and they give you a reward.

There are 6 stations (if I remember correctly) in future World- Test Track, Living Seas, Soarin, both Innoventions, and Mission Space??? (MS is the one I am drawing a blank on).

Do the CM's teach the kids about their country? Do you buy the passport book at one of the gift shops? WOW! Thanks for all the great responses!

In our experience they didn't unless you initiated the conversation. It probably just depends on the castmember though. Yes, you can purchase the passport book in the gift shops.

My girls LOVE doing the Kidcot stations. It makes a nice break for them to be able to sit down and just color. My oldest daughter loves her mask. She has made one on the last two trips and she keeps them together in her room. She looks at them pretty often. I figured it would have been forgotten once we got home but she really likes them.

What is the prize if you get all the stations? We were trying for it last trip. My dd got all the countries then she got sick in the park so we had to leave the park before we could do them all.
