Kidani village - any information on length of hallways (distance)

As someone who always felt the need for a good long walk after a meal at Boma, I'll be only too happy to make the trek back to Kidani! I just wish the walk could be a bit more scenic than I'm expecting (sidewalks and hallways).

LisaS, Just remember, every building section is separated by a window. So you will have either a parking lot view, pool view, or savannah view, just like Jambo at every building juncture during your trips down the hallways.

(Just jogging your memory, you are the undisputed queen of AKL)!

I suggest a local monorail.

Actually I have been really disapointed that Disney never expanded the Monorail to include all new parks. It would be quieter and more eco-friendly.
But considering a Travel Channel show said the monorail cost $1,000,000+ in 1970 dollars, I'd hate to hear expensive it would be now :eek

Not sure about the Travel Channel reference, but I've read before that the monorail originally cost $1M per mile to construct. A few years ago Las Vegas finished its own monorail project. It was a 4-mile extension to the existing monorail, and budget projections were in the $600-800 million range.

Oops! I left off the "per mile." That is what made it staggering. (nowadays a simple road is 1mil/mile, but it really meant a ton, then. )

I wonder if this amount was so hign because the builders had to purchase Right-of-way from property owners, something Disney would not have to contend with.

LOL, so what would Richyams have to say about AKV? I suspect i can write the scenario:

LOOOOOOng dark hallways with cave darkness in the rooms and tiny kitchens. Of course, he would be hard pressed to give a bad critique of the GVs,since they would have that game room in them. Since Richy only stayed in GVs, I'm sure he would like that part!

You caught it! I was actually thinking of Richy when I was reading the posts. "Loooong hallways, navigating to villa, map and flashlight in hand...."
