As I am planning to leave to go home tomorrow after our first, very happy, AKV stay. we are planning the next one.

We are planning for a 2 br Kidani stay for next June with DW and I, SIL, BIL, Niece and Nephew. We are planning on booking a standard view at Kidani. We are thinking of a lock off with DW and I taking the studio side and the rest having the 1 br side. My thinking is that would be better for DW and I having the bed and the sofa, plus the kitchenette vs. 2 queens. I have a couple of questions:

  • Will there be a difference between the bath in a dedicated 2 br vs a lockoff? (for the studio/2 q side)
  • Since I have noticed that 2 of the sections of Kidani are single sided, with no parking lot view, does anyone know the percentage of standard views that could have a parking lot view?
  • null

I am also wondering this since the pool and water play area will be in the front, does that mean that the parking will be further out from the resort?

Thanks!

This thread has floor plans for the Kidani Units that have been declared so far. Unit 64C is a dedicated 2BR, Unit 64D is a 2BR lockoff. The only difference I can see is that the 2nd bedroom in the dedicated 2BR has a closet instead of a kitchenette. Everything else looks the same.

A lot of the parking at Kidani is supposed to be under the building. I don't know how many rooms will have parking lot or road views (rather than garden or pool views) but as you point out, the worst views have been eliminated by making the first few building segments single sided. I don't know the percentages of parking lot views but I think they claim that 80% of AKV will have savanna views so that leaves 20% pool, garden and parking lot views.

Post 24 in that same thread shows the location of the savannas and pool area. Everything else will be parking or road views and possibly garden views (it's hard to tell at this point where the garden views are). You can guesstimate how much of the resort will have the non-pool/non-savanna views from that map. The sections housing Units 70, 71 and 72 are the single-sided sections of the building even though Disney's original outline shows them as double sided.

I happened to see this aerial photo of Kidani on the member's website. It might give you an idea of the view from the Standard View rooms that are not pool view:
