Kidani Pool rehab in June 2011???

Just read on allears.nets newsletter that someone tried to make a ressie and were told that the pool will be closed. Anyone confirm? Any dates? We have a ressie for June at Jambo but are hoping to use Kidani's pool as well.

We've got June 1-7 reserved at Kidani, and the CM didn't mention anything when I made that reservation. This was about 10 days ago, though, so maybe this is new info? It does seem a little early to be renovating that particular pool, doesn't it? Kidani hasn't been open all that long.

There is no mention of the Kidani pool on the list of rehabs and closings at allears.net (see http://allears.net/tp/rehabs.htm#june). We will be staying at AKV-Kidani from 6/8/2011 to 6/13/2011, and when we made the reservation on 7/8/2010 the CM made no mention of the pool undergoing renovations during our visit.

It is still unconfirmed. Someone in the newsletter mentioned booking in mid-June and being told this info. I am calling memebers services anyway today. I will check and post when I know.

Okay, so the person I spoke with this afternoon said that they never receive word of rehabs that far in advance?

the pool is less than 3 years old so unless it has a defect or it is just a quick repaint I can not imagine a "refurb"

All pools are given little clean ups now and then, and after 3 years, I'm sure it will be due. On the other hand, why close it in JUNE??????

When we were there the 1st week of May this year (their 1 year opening anniversary) they had portions of the kiddie area completely torn up and blocked off. I thought that was surprising but I don't know if there was a defect, design issue or what but they had it shut down after the 1st day of our trip through the end of our trip (7 nights).
