Which is harder to get or more in demand 2 bdroom kidani or 2 bedroom jambo?

I would think Jambo would book up faster, because it is the smaller of the two resorts.

I would think Jambo is harder to get. Better access to food and I am pretty sure fewer rooms.

In making a late reservation this summer (a little over two months out from August) for a relative, there was a 1BR available at Jambo but nothing at Kidani (and I was asking about all sized rooms, savanna view). I asked the rep whether Jambo or Kidani usually books up first. Can't say this is completely reliable, but rep said that somewhat more often there was still something avaliable at Jambo after Kidani has filled for any given time.

We actually ran into no availability at kidani for a 2 br and booked jambo (it was the only one available). This was about 6-7 months before our travel date. Also, a friend of mine just stayed at kidani and she said that she much rathered kidani because it was quiet and so peaceful, and jambo was much like a "hotel" atmosphere with people all over the place, which she didn't prefer. So next time she is staying at kidani again. :)

Those scenarios would be outliers I'd thinks just because of the amount of rooms available at each resort. Kidani has many more rooms. Also you have to think about categories as well when considering those two. Studios of any category I think are much more in demand at Jambo because they are the same size and Jambo is more convenient. Value anything is next to impossible at 7mos. Concierge is next to impossible at 7mos as well. Most people seem to prefer the Jambo Grand Villas because of the pool table and convenience of Jambo. It seems that from what I read, people prefer Jambo standard views because they are of the pool and not a hike, while Kidani's are generally of the parking lot and could be located very far out from the lobby however the larger rooms at Kidani may even out demand between the two. I'd think when it comes to 1 or 2 bedroom Savanna that would be where Kidani may have the edge because their rooms are larger and have the additional bathroom. Hope this gave you a little more info. Personally, Jambo has always been the problem for us with Kidani usually having availability after the 7 mos window. We always book Jambo first but if I was going for a 1 bedroom savanna view, I'd book Kidani first. If we are doing 2 bedroom we'd just book the 2 br value at Jambo and hope for a pool or savanna view because we never have any more than 6 with us. Hope this helps in your decision making.:wizard:

Curious as to Why would you choose a value over a standard or savanna view at Jambo?

The value rooms at Jambo require less points than standard rooms. The value rooms are just a little smaller than the standard or savanna view rooms, but many of them look out over the pool or savanna. You take a chance on getting the view you want when requesting a value room, and those rooms do book up fast since they take less points.
Value has to do with the size of the room, not the view.

if you have small kids kidani is closer to the spray park (Uwanja Camp)
than jambo house. i was there fall break and only jambo house had avalibility when i booked 1 month earlier

I do book value 1-2 bedrooms when I want to conserve points, and they are in Jambo. If I wanted a studio, I would pick Jambo. However, for most of the times when I book a savannah 1 or 2 bedroom villa, I pick Kidani because of the spacious master bath and the extra bathroom. I usually book my AKV stays at 11 months and get what I ask for.

Like another post mentioned, they are a little smaller but far less points and may receive a pool or savanna view small chance of a parking lot view. Values are very close to the lobby as well. We only have 5 in our party (3 children 2 adults) unless mom comes then we have 6, so we do fine with just two bathrooms and not as much square footage. If you have more than 6 or more adults than children, you may have different needs.

I think I might prefer the two bedroom at Jambo with 3 teens and 2 adults. I kind of like feeling like I'm away on vacation at a resort or hotel. I like the hustle and bustle. Being where the action is. I may be the minority in this thought.
