So we have stayed at both....BUT we have ONLY stayed in a DVC vacation home at Kidani NOT Jambo.
My question is how different are they? Right now we are booked in a 1 bedroom Sav View at Kidani but what do you think? Kidani or Jambo? I love Jambo but have never stayed in a DVC vacation home there so I did not want to book this without getting some opinions.:scared1:

Personally, we liked staying in Jambo better than Kidani. We use studios and I didn't care for the bathroom layout at Kidani. The toilet is in 1 rather large room all by itself and then the sink & tub/shower are in another room. I prefer the toilet & tub/shower be together so the sink area is open for use by someone else. It kinda ruins the whole privacy thing the way it's set up at Kidani. We also didn't feel the Kidani building was as impressive looking - it looks like a warehouse from the outside. While it has nice viewing areas, the lobby & store is very small. We ended up going to Jambo to shop for things. Kinda inconvenient. OH, and then there's the convenience of the Mara and Boma!! MUCH better onsite dining options. I also didn't care for how far removed the pool area was at Kidani. I didn't think it was located in a very central area. If was kind of a schlep to get there. Best thing going for Kidani IMO is that it's the first bus stop. :goodvibes We will stick to Jambo for our future visits if it's available. The whole bathroom setup was just weird.

If you want counter dining options, stay at Jambo House. Major pain getting to Jambo just for a meal.

:) Now for a different opinion. DH and I do not have children and we appreciated the quiet homey feel of the Kidani lobby. DVC is your "home " while there so yes while less impressive it is more intimate and cozy. DH and I were totally overwhelmed with Jambo. I can appreciate the jaw dropping lobby but for our once a year vacation....we were ready to leave the noise after our meal. I was really worried about how I would feel knowing about the differences but never having stayed there.

I really liked the fact that they are both "secluded" from WDW, and I appreciated their different vibes. Jambo-marketplace with activity and noisy families bustling about, then Kidani-quiet serene, like a low beating drum around a campfire. :cloud9:

The best of both worlds no matter which one you pick.
