Kidani Open Mouse 4/22!!

Looking at the map, which part of Kidani will be open in May. I will be there May 17th in a 2 bedroom savannha view:cool1:...Just wondering about where it will be

thanks...amy

If anyone has a chance, please snap a pic of the menu at the pool bar. We're curious to see whether there's food available there.

Yes it is supposed to be open in September. By the way, the numbers on that map are the Unit numbers not room numbers. DVC breaks a resort into Units for sales purposes with each Unit at Kidani consisting of several rooms. I posted a link to that map because it shows where the Pembe Savanna will be located. You should not use those numbers when requesting a room location because they won't mean anything to the room assigner and will just cause confusion.

Here is another drawing showing Kidani so you can get an idea of the size of the Pembe Savanna. It looks like it will start just beyond the pool area and extend around the "top" of the building. It looks like the fence separating the Pembe and Sunset savannas will be where that row of trees is drawn on the map, just to the right of the upper end of Kidani. There are a few things about this map that are known to be incorrect so use this to get a general idea of the size and location of Pembe but don't assume too much!

Right, I realize those were just identifying numbers :thumbsup2 but it was easier/quicker to type out than the room numbers listed ;)
I'm just going to ask for a view of the okapis and leave it at that :wizard: :rotfl:.

Click on the link Brave Teacher posted in post #22. There is a photo of a Kidani resort map there!! You will get a better idea of the location of the Pembe Savanna from that map.

As far as requests, book a Savanna View room and request to be on the Pembe Savanna. I think you will have a good chance getting your request met. Pembe will not have giraffes so it may end up being a less popular view and easier to get by request. At least I hope so -- I've requested it for my next stay at Kidani!

§ Maji Pool Bar offers a variety of beverages including specialty drinks, as well as a limited assortment of food items such as Club Sandwich, Tandoori Chicken Caesar Salad, Fresh Fruit Cup, and frozen novelties – menu subject to change

§ “Maji” is the Swahili word for “water.”

Good news! Now we just need a place to fill our refillable mugs. :thumbsup2

Oh thank you! That's exactly what I'll do. I like the area because it appears secluded...but won't really know until all pictures start rolling in.

Yay! Thanks for posting that link and answering my (uber-important) refillable mug question. Seriously, I know it's not a deal breaker for staying there, but it's nice to know that there's a place to fill the mugs (especially since we decided to try the new QSDP next week, which includes the mugs). They didn't leave us hanging. :thumbsup2

I soooooooooooo can't wait until next Friday!!!!!!

I agree. I really enjoy getting a mug as a souviner and having the refill station on property is GREAT news!

I can't wait until opening day either. We aren't going until December, but I want to see more pics! :goodvibes

All I know is, this week and next week are going to be the longest weeks EVER!!! It has been a whole year and a half since I have been to WDW and I am aching to get back down there!!!

Can't wait to see Kidani.

If they've done what some other resorts have done, there should also be a refill station at the pool bar.

Thanks for the links to pics... I was all set to move to Jambo today but will stay at Kidani. The snacks/sandwiches at the pool bar and refill station will be perfect. Plus I forgot about the gift shop..the kids can always get snacks there.

I wonder if they will have any fresh food choices in the refrigerators at the gift shop (like a fruit cup or those great deserts!!)
