We arrive at Kidani Sept 19. A couple of months ago, my husband started experiencing knee pain. We've spend the last two months going to doctors, therapy and finally an orthopedic doctor diagnosed it as a meniscus tear and no cartilage on his knee. His surgery is scheduled for the week after we get back and we can go to Disney. But his pain level is still pretty high and we'll be at a slower pace.

Trying to decide an area of Kidani to request. We rarely request for room locations because we find pluses and minuses to every location, so we are usually good to take our chances. Researching, I thought we'd want close to the Zazu elevator since that was close to Jambo, but since the food isn't open there, that's not much of a draw anymore. Someone suggestion Rafiki, because it was close to the lobby and pool. But he probably won't use the pool much if at all, and I'm thinking close to the buses would be best. So Timon??

Any reason we shouldn't ask for that area? And I know, it's only a request. Like I said, we don't ask much for room locations. Now when pre dvc when we stayed at POR and all the other huge resorts, room location mattered and we used to send a fax the day before arriving...does that date me??

I would just ask for near lobby and state that it's a medical request due to knee issues. The last 2 times we just clicked the button that says 'near lobby' in online checkin and got lucky...on the 5th floor both times but only a few rooms past the lobby elevators.

I’ll echo Geomom. We requested near the lobby and we were two rooms past the elevator in Rafiki. Very short walk compared to others. But we didn’t use the buses, so I don’t know if there’s a better option for that purpose.
