Kid friendly hotel, with fun pool, non Disney suggestions

Looking for recommendations for an Orlando hotel for two days in April. We have done Disney many times, but this time are doing Universal. We are looking for something non-Dinsey, but with a fun pool (water slide would be nice) for the kids, close to Universal. Trying to keep the cost under $200 a night. Complimentary breakfast or parking would be nice. We've looked at the Omni, Embassy Suites, a couple of the Marriotts, but I always have great luck with the recommendations from the forums.

Hyatt Grand Cypress has great pools. You maybe able to snag it for under $200. We booked it through hotwire one year for $140.00 per night. We stayed there one year when we didn't do Disney and only went to Universal. It took about 15 minutes to get to Univeral. Very nice hotel. You also pay a resort daily fee but it included alot of activities. My kids played golf on the par 3 course, rented surrey bikes and they climbed the rock wall. We had a great time there.

We just got back from a split stay 7 nights Caribbean Beach Resort and 3 nights Caribe Royale. I would stay at Caribe Royale in a heartbeat if I wasn't visiting the disney parks. We paid $105 per night on hotwire. Nice pool with slide and all rooms are suites which were recently renovated. I didn't find it as kid friendly as the Disney hotels though. Even the Hyatt has alot more to do too. Not sure what ages your kids are?

Thank you! The Hyatt is one of the ones we are considering and it looks very nice and exactly what we want. It is a little under $200 a night. You do have to pay for breakfast, but free parking, I think. I wonder if I could get it by any chance on priceline.

Thank you for the Caribe Royale suggestion. I can get a very low price, should I be skeptical? The pool looks fun too.
