Kick'n It at Kidani (aka Am I Becoming a Resort Snob?)Final Update 8/20 p.54

ChrisAndWandaInTShirts.jpg

In that gentleman's case......I am so glad whatever it was, DID STAY in Vegas! :rotfl: What a picture.

I took a picture of you and your marching band tonight.....:rotfl2:

marchingband2.jpg

You know - Our uniforms look surprinsingly similar to those! :rotfl: But we don't have the ladies in white!

Thank you shocker. So glad to see that you are back in true comedic form! Now I have to get over to Wigd's TR to see what's up. BTW - I love the pictures of you, Wigd, and Baylor with CP's family.

Reading TRs is part of the reason why I havent been working on my. :surfweb:

I hear ya sister. These TR's can totally suck you in!

I am off from work today. :thumbsup2 I love having weekdays off! I only have two a month off. It's a treat. So.... I am going to try to do a quick update now.

When I left off DH, LJ, DS, and I were getting on Spaceship earth (for the 2nd time). And this ride turned out to be much better than the first. :rotfl:Except, I still can't locate Delaware on the map.:rotfl: Not sure where I ended up living on this ride. Antartica maybe?

I took some pictures are we ascending on our trip through time:

Can you tell how much he loves this ride?????

opps....backside shot on spaceship earth:

I know these aren't the best, but they are pretty fun to have because they remind me of the different sequences of the ride.

So my memory is a little fuzzy at this point. I figure DS got to Epcot around 1130 - 1145. I don't remember him eating lunch because I think he ate the pastries that were in the room. When we got off Spaceship earth it was around 1:30 or so. It's hard for me to believe that all we did in 2 hours was get a TT FP, ride Soarin (with a FP), and ride Spaceship Earth, but maybe that IS really all we did. I looked at the times on our FP's and, even though DS got his late, we could all get FP's again at 1:50pm. So we killed some time and waited to get 4 more TT FP's. I figured we would bring the older boys back in the evening, so we could all ride TT together. Yeah - I know the older boys didn't really deserve FP's, especially after ditching Nicholas, but I was doing this for LJ.

So at 1:40 I sent Nick to get FP's for everyone and I stood outside SpE and took some more pictures:

This is the "top secret" Siemens lounge that customers and employees can access. I really would like to go in there. I've seen Lurkyloo's picture from inside and they are really good. It's a great view of the park. Hmmmmmmm....how can I get in there on my next trip?

DisneyJune20091133.jpg

When Nick got back with the FP's, we began the walk to the car. It was really stink'n hot now. I didn't realize it until my crocs starting melting on my feet, AGAIN. Here are some more pics on the way out:

Wait....we were leaving Epcot.....but I still took this pic:

DisneyJune20091145.jpg

DisneyJune20091143.jpg

The heat felt really brutal by the time we got to the car. The AAA lot is an excellent location. Same distance as the buses, but in the opposite direction of the entrance. Still, those last few steps were painful because of the heat. I just thought of something that I noticed we went in and out of Epcot. Apparently, someone has puked right at the edge of the parking lot in the grass. I'm pretty sure it was there when we went into Epcot for our Le Cellier dinner. It was STILL there the next day. I was pretty suprised to see this, but I guess the spot was obscure enough that no CM saw it and it hadn't rained. It was just really nasty to see when its a bagillion degrees out and you could feel your own stomach turning.

Ahhhhhhhhh.....that AC felt soooooooo good. We decided to make a quick side trip to Walmart to get some water and some food for breakfast the next day. Yeah - we were only going to be in Orlando a little over 24 hours, but I figured whatever water we didn't drink, I would just take home in my checked luggage.

So...up next.....an afternoon at the pool with CSR picks and our final evening in Epcot!

Poor Nicholas, glad he was able to meet up with the rest of you, however. My older son also has all kinds of excuses for leaving younger DS at time :confused3

The brutal heat of a Florida summer! We were at Disney July two year ago and the weather really was not bad, but last August was just totally brutal.

Thanks for the great pics of Epcot. The Siemens lounge? Did not know about this, too bad I don't have connections. Do you have the link to the pics of the lounge, would love to see!

No! I don't want it to be your last 24 hours at WDW! :(

Your second ride on SSE sounds far more enjoyable than the first!

I hear ya about the heat! There were some days when I felt like I was trapped in a boiling furnace!

An afternoon at the CSR pool was an excellent idea!

Last 24 hours??

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

LJ looks so cute on Spaceship Earth.

Crocs melting to the pavement, YUCK.

MEK, I think your meltdown was pretty minor compared to some of the reports of what others have witnessed! Everyone reaches their breaking point at some time, I think you handled yourself pretty well all things considered!

I put DH's phone through the wash once...yep, it was toast (although the flashlight feature worked just fine...if you needed it on all the time ) The irony of it was that about 2 months before that, Greg was snowblowing the driveway and must have had it clipped to his belt. He didn't realize that it had come off until he got a glimpse of something in the pile he was building, it was his phone case. He had to come inside and get a flashlight (it was at night) and used it to find his phone. He didn't find the battery until the snow melted in the spring but surprisingly, he was able to purchase a new battery and cover and the darn thing still worked. (until the washing machine incident :rolleyes1) Of course he blames ME for not checking all his pockets. He does a much better job of emptying them himself now :rotfl:

Yes, you were very nice to get the older boys FP's...not sure I would have :snooty:

Ahhh that Croc melting heat!! :rotfl: I know exactly what you are talking about!!
I have gone three times in August and I liken it to the winter in the Northeast when you go outside and it is so cold that it takes your breath away :scared: it seems the same in Florida when you first go outside after being in the air conditioning. Like going head on with a gigantic blow dryer. On high!! :rotfl:

I loved reading about the meltdown on spaceship earth- Finally!!! :rotfl: When you told me there were 2 words involved I kept thinking either 'Sit Down' or 'Shut Up' So I was on the right track! LOL Good for you speaking your mind! From what I read it was definitely necessary :thumbsup2

So I responded in a way does not make me proud. I exclaimed in a loud stage voice,
ShutUp.jpg
Yeah that's right. I could feel my throat getting dry and my eyes getting teary and my hands shaking. And I just kept on walking right out of Spaceship earth. Never turned around once!

:confused3

I picked the filet and it was totally awesome.... my meal was super surperb! My filet literally melted in my mouth. I ordered it with the cream cheese potatoes, which were also to die for.

Ugh! You're making me so hungry!

I really, really hope I can get an ADR here for November.... I think I will order the filet! :lovestruc

Great meal! The boys look like they're having fun.

Awww, last day coming up! :sad1:

Gosh, ME, what a stressful time! I hate when my DH "scolds" me in public... if I did the same to him there'd be a lot more said to me than "shut up!"

They can dish it out, but they can't take it! You must've had your fill of all the testosterone by the end of the trip!! Ha Ha!

Anyway, I love the photo of SE with the gorgeous flowers in front of it!!

Kathy

Okay... I was behind. And now I got to read the meltdown. And now I know what a meltdown with teenage children will look like. And that everyone seemingly has DH that clueless!

First off, sorry I haven't been here in a few days, real life got in the way.;)

LOVE the smile pictures!!!! Awesome picture of you, son and LJ also!! Your younger son seems like such a gentle spirit!!

LeCellier looks great and I can't wait to try it! Great pictures of the boys!

Hmmm, I hate to say it, but that wasn't much of a meltdown!! You showed absolute fantastic resolve in only yelling shut up! I hate when someone feels they have to lecture you, even if it just your name they use! You did good holding it together!! Kudos!!

Love all of your epcot pictures and I would really love to do the Behind the Seeds tour also! I think I would much rather do it in the cooler months, however.

Oh yea. Two questions please. Where were the gnomes? So cute!! Did the boys like their t-shirts?

Looking forward to more!!

Morning All:

Will respond to comments later today and hopefully post an update. Sorry, I didn't DIS much yesterday and now I have to get some lab work drawn this morning - fasting. So I want to get that taken care of.

Someone asked about the posting a link to Lurkyloo's TR with the Seimens lounge photos. Can someone tell me how to do that, because that is an area where I am computer deficient. I have been sitting here trying to figure it out, but give up!

Thanks in advance. BTW - I think it is her anniversay TR. But I really need to learn how to do it!

I don't know how to post the link. I know which one of Lurkyloo's TR those pictures are in, but I need a lesson in how to post that link. Sorry, I am so computer iliterate when it comes to certain things.

Ya know - the weather can be so hit of miss. I've been 3 times in June and 4 times in August and this was one of the worst for me!

Can you believe it???? TR almost over. but..wait....not yet......I still have a few mor installments to go. I'll need at least one more for Day 7 and then a couple for Day 8, then final thoughts, then Niagara Falls, then my PT info. Oh, I have some more things up my sleeve!

Last 24 hours??

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

LJ looks so cute on Spaceship Earth.

Crocs melting to the pavement, YUCK.

Yeeeeeeeeeesssssssssss! LJ is a cutey. Can't wait to see him in a few weeks for his younger brother's BD!

Yeah - LL....you got the rain. CP, Wigd, and I got the heat!

Hey Katie:

I still think my meltdown was bad because I completely lost my temper. I know it wasn't pretty.

Your story about the cell phone with 9 lives is so funny! :rotfl2: what brand was that - I want one! I get blamed for not checking pockets either, but that's not my job. Once its in the laundry basket it better be washer ready!

Ahhh that Croc melting heat!! :rotfl: I know exactly what you are talking about!!

Tracy

I don't know what is worse....croc melting heat or nasal hair freezing cold! This June seemed especially bad because there was no time to acclimatize. and I haven't changed my mind - no more June, July, or August trips!

You know - I can think of a lot worse two word phrases than 'Sit down" and "Shut Up". LOL!

shocker - I can not tell you how many times I have wanted to do this to DH! Perfect! :rotfl2:

That's exactly what it was - a scolding! I definately had my fill of testosterone by the time I got home! Well put! :rotfl:

Okay... I was behind. And now I got to read the meltdown. And now I know what a meltdown with teenage children will look like. And that everyone seemingly has DH that clueless!

:rotfl:Here's to the clueless DH's! And personally, I think it is easy to handle small children meltdowns. At least you know where your small children are at all times!

First off, sorry I haven't been here in a few days, real life got in the way.;)

It felt like a big meltdown, trust me. There was venom in those two words.Glad you like the Epcot pics.

The gnomes were right near the Behind the Seeds Tour Desk. There is a small Kiosk there with batteries and souveniers. They were all lined up along the wall.

Yes - the boys loved their T-shirts!

Okay I'll admit it I have washed my Hubby's cell phone and his wallet a couple of times...now we both check his pockets before we do the laundry LOL!!!!

Yes this SE ride looked a lot more enjoyable...I just love that ride and love any pictures of it I can get LOL!!! So thanks for sharing!!

Wow your crocs were melting...ewww that is no fun at all...it has been quite hot in Florida recently...I'm hoping it will cool down a bit by my next trip at the end of Sept/Oct!!!!!

Ewww...to the vomit...that just makes my tummy churn just reading about it!!!!

Great update, even though I don't want it to end any time soon!

MEK-

I read this in US Weekly and thought of you. Brad Pitt apparently has a new movie coming out (with a DIS unfriendly title) where he plays something less than a gentleman. So apparently he was "in character" and giving advice on various things including camera phone etiquette:

Don't take a picture of your wife's butt. That's silly. Take pictures of other people's wives' butts.

:lmao: Thought of you and your DH right away! :lmao:

Will have to come back and read your latest update- but couldn't resist sharing this quote. :upsidedow

Great pictures from Spaceship Earth, sure brings back great memories, always take pictures from the outside but have never thought to take them on the ride....will be doing that this year:cool1:

I feel for you with your meltdown...why do we feel it's so bad when that happens when we're in WDW, we don't think twice about it at home:lmao: I guess we put so much into it we expect perfection and when it doesn't happen we loose it. Been there done that. I remember in 2006 just DD and I went, and one day I remember thinking, we aren't doing anything I want to do. It's all about her....when I mentioned this she said well I want to do fun things and a fun thing isn't IASW....I made her do it 3 times just to get even:rotfl2:

Another great report......popcorn::

Your almost done :( I hope your going to do your free dining trip!!
