Kia Sportage

i'm thinking of getting this car once i get a job...what do you guys think? has anyone had any experience with it? i'm also thinking about a Toyota Rav4 and Honda CRV.

another question...are the Rav4 and CRV available as 2 door cars? i'm not really a "car person".

My sister bought one the year the came out. It has been an okay car. It had a couple problems that they fixed ( Like most other cars) and it has been useful but she sort of wishes she hadn't bought it. It doesn't hold as much as she would have liked. It is a bit cramped for some of the family. Me (her brother) being 6'1" am a little cramped in the back seats which sit up fairly high and don't get a good viw out the front window. I have traveled on a couple trips in the front seat and it was average in comfort. I have never driven it.

The Sportage was dropped for the 2003 model year, but it will be back for 2004.

The CR-V and RAV4 only come in 4 door models.

thanks guys! i've wanted a sportage for a long time, but have heard bad things about Kia cars.

A friend of mine has a sportage and it is about 3 years old, well the warranty ran out and 3,000 miles later she needs a whole new engine! She is not happy to say the least.

Also, one of her back seats collapsed one day when someone was sitting in it. It was a slightly heavy person, but not THAT heavy.

New Kias have a 10 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty!
It is pricier but their new Sorento is a great car - looks like the Lexus SUV at 1/2 the price. We have one of their Sedona mini-vans & have had no problems.
