Keystone Lodge (Concierge Collection) Trip Report 7/1/11-7/8/11

Great TR! Looks like a great Colorado option!

Thanks for sharing your week with us!

Thanks for sharing! We live in the suburbs just south of Denver and Keystone is by far our very favorite resort to visit. (for all the reasons you mentioned). They are so family friendly. Over the years we've stayed in different areas there-Lakeside, the Forests, but never River Run. Forest is probably our favorite as it is a little off the beaten path, but you cannot go wrong.
For anyone else planning to visit, another great place to eat is the Arapahoe Cafe in Dillon - it is right near the Dam Brewery which we love as well. Arapahoe Cafe does not look like much from the outside but it is a classic.

Thanks for rekindling our memories-especially of the fourth of July when we took DS and DD (now 26 and 21) to Loveland Pass to make snowballs. It was great fun to remember those days!

What a phenomenal trip report!!! Was this in place of a trip to WDW? Did you feel it was a good use of points? I think it looks like a wonderful adventure and I think my kids would love it too. My husband has been to Colorado and enjoyed it. This might be a fun thing to try some summer!!! Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2

Looks like you all had a fabulous time! I have only been to Keystone to ski, in the winter...
So pretty in the summer!

Great trip report - and your pictures are great. We used to take our dds to Colorado most every summer.....this was before we discovered our love for WDW. Maybe time to give a try again.

We did a visit to the Keystone Resort on the Concierge Collection a few years ago in July. We loved everything about the trip but the unit. The unit we were assigned had broken furniture, etc. Nothing we could do could get us changed. Nothing ever came from my complaints to DVC as well. Most of the units are owned individually, so there is no guaranty that the units will have the same quality. We met some owners who explained that the quality of the units varies dramatically - as we learned. But the Keystone Resort itself and the surrounding areas are really great.

Thanks for the photos...I travel to Denver for business and have yet to get out in the "country" so I appreciate the outdoors pics.

I, too, am wondering if you felt it was a good use of points. Obviously you had a great time, but more from a financial point of view. I'm glad you enjoyed the trip! It let's me have faith that our DVC can really be our multiple-purpose vacationing plan. Most people are so bllaahhhhhh about using points on non-Disney vacations. Definitely love this perspective.

looks great! I'm just posting so I can find this thread again when I'm looking for another use for points. :goodvibes
