My family frequently visits WDW. A couple years ago, my fiance started tagging along too. We usually go out to a nice restaurant one evening during our trip, just the two of us. I was considering doing a tour this year instead, maybe the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. I'm open to suggestions.

I read reviews on wdwig, but I'm looking for any more information I can get. If you have been on the tour, what was your opinion of it? The time and walking we would have to put into it are not a factor. I'm mainly concerned with whether or not it is a good tour according to the Dis patrons. It sounds fun, but give me the lowdown. Cost? Time of day best to go? What was the best part? Good guide? Etc....

Thanks in advance!

There was a long thread on this just a few days ago, but search has been disabled.

We took this tour last Dec. and loved it. We started out in the POURING rain, but an hour into it, the weather broke. It's amazing some of the facts you learn about MK, and all it's hidden secrets. Our tour was about 5 hours - alot of walking, but the lunch at CHH (included in the price) was a nice break. Our guide knew his stuff - I think his name was Justin.

I highly recommend it!!!! :bounce:

DH and I did the tour in early March and really enjoyed it. You get a lot of "on stage" info as well as backstage info. We really enjoyed both...and finding out the "onstage" secrets was a lot more fun than I expected...of course backstage is neat!

I think it was about 5 hours. I got really tired towards the end from the walking/standing, but I was 19 weeks pregnant at the time so I'm sure that's why. Lunch was at Columbia Harbor House...great counter service place we always overlooked before. We picked a time based on what time we wanted to have lunch...I think we got that info from Deb's site.

Now we can't wait to do another tour!

DH and I (mid-40's) just did this tour last week on our anniversary trip. We both enjoyed it very much! We did the early one (8:15), which was nice because it wasn't too hot and were done by about 12:45. Our guide was Fred, an older gentleman who's worked at the MK for 20 years, so he was very knowledgeable and also very nice. When you arrive and check in they give you a name tag and a lanyard that says "Guest". They show you a menu and you have to tell them what you want for lunch. You can't take any backpacks, video cameras, etc. with you, but they'll keep it for you until you're done. They also give you a bottle of water. We only had 8 people in our group, but Fred said that he has had up to about 20. It cost us $58, but they have a 15% discount for AP holders. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask about it, so was charged full price. The best part was when we went to where they store the floats for the parades and they were practicing for the new "Finding Nemo" part of the parade (this was on Tuesday before it started on Friday.) The only bad thing was that we were going to ride the HM before lunch and it was down. We did ride POC. The lunch was wonderful! One thing that we weren't aware of is that you don't tour the whole park. You only go on Main Street, Adventureland, Frontierland, and Liberty Square (no Fantasyland, Tomorrowland or Toontown.) It was neat going down to the Utilidoor area. I hope that answered all your questions, but I'll be happy to respond if you have any more. I would definitely do it if you're interested in learning "secrets" or going "backstage."

When we did the tour, we were able to keep our cameras and video cameras with us as long as we didn't use them.
