Keys To The Kingdom Tour Transportation question

Hi all, I have a quick question.

I have a Keys To The Kingdom Tour scheduled for 8am and we have to be there 15 minutes before the tour. September 5th. The park opens at 9am. Busses start running an hour before the parks open so that would mean they would start running at 8am.

However, I have heard they start running as early as 6am-6:30am.

Would anyone be able to confirm this? I would imagine so because of all the Pre-park opening meal reservations in the parks...

Has anyone ever taken an 8am tour before in the MK?

Thanks!

In March, we had an 8:30 KTTK, tour, and we got the bus from POR in more than enough time. I want to say the bus came around 6:45 or thereabouts. I know we got to MK and wound up waiting around for a little while before we could get in. This was also a 9:00 opening.

Enjoy the tour, it's amazing!!

Buses from the resorts begin running at 6:30 a.m. from Disney resorts.

Disney starts buses "AROUND" 6:30 AM to cover early ADRs/Tours.

Here are "first bus times" from one morning during a stay at All-Star Sports.

("First bus time" for Magic Kingdom.)

(In this picture the Magic Kingdom time is for the 3rd MK bus of the day,the other 3 Parks are "first bus times".)

We are thinking about to the KTK tour for our March 2017 trip! A few questions..
How early can you book this tour? Does it usually sell out?
What are the attractions on the tour that you skip the lines for?
Is it worth it since it is a 5 hour tour that takes away from your day? Thank you!

You can book it anytime now. I do believe that the spots fill rather quickly. The attractions should be a surprise. And yes it is very much worth it!!!!!!!

1. Not sure how early you can book...I'd assume at least 90 days? It did sell out for our first choice day (about 30ish days in advance), so we had to switch days.

2. The attractions we "skipped the lines" for were Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion, though honestly that was the least of the reasons the tour was amazing.

3. Yes, in my opinion, it was sooooo worth it. We had a great tour guide (it was actually her very first tour, and we had "spies" on our tour who were evaluating her) who was so knowledgable about everything Magic Kingdom. She really made the tour, and we learned so much and enjoyed the behind the scenes things we got to see. I say definitely do it if you're thinking about it.

we just came back from Disney a couple days ago and we had this tour last week. our second time taking it. YES it is worth it.
We did the 8:30 tour, and we did not get done until 2pm! Our tour guide was Amazing and took extra time with our group.

We did the Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion.

Just an FYI, our tour guide told us they recently changed the tour route about 2 weeks ago. you now spend a lot longer time in the tunnels and see so much more!

Oh and buses start around 6:30. Just be at the bus stop by 6:30 and you will be fine!

Awesome! Thanks for all of the feedback! I just called but they said they can't book until 180 days out. I will just have to put a note on my calendar to book 180 days out from the day we want to do it.

Also, if I book a 9:00 tour, how early can you get into the park? Thanks!

Don;t forget the discounts...AP, DVC and Disney Visa, all 15%.

I've taken this tour twice, both times were excellent! Enjoy.

yes the busses run earler then an hour before the park opening there are a lot of ADR that start at 8 am and other tours too.

you can ask at your hotel what time the first buss will get there and then get there before that time. if you are very worried then you can always get a taxi but you should be fine

A few thoughts.
Yes, buses start by 6:30, but they tend to arrive a bit less frequently than regular buses. Plan accordingly.

I've taken KTTK three times. I don't recommend doing it if you're new to WDW. It does eat up a lot of time. But, it's a wonderful thing if you're not a novice and can afford using up those 5 hrs, or, when traveling solo. I had a solo trip and figured it was a good way to spend the morning. Met some terrific people...even a few DISers!! And had lunch with my new friends.

But, if you're new to WDW, I'm not sure it's a good idea to forgo other attractions. But, that's up to each person.

We did this tour on our first visit to WDW in 2014. We are DLR regulars. As first timers we loved this tour and learned a lot about WDW and details about the MK we wouldn't have noticed. We did the 9:15am tour and but got there about 8, checked in, then got to wander around the almost empty park. We got some great pictures of the castle with no one around. We would like to do the larger 4 park tour on our next visit in a few years if they still offer it. Also I have food allergies which they were able to accommodate when we had the included lunch.

Once we wanted to get somewhere early and we were never given a straight answer about how early the bus comes. No one would say for sure and I found it frustrating to not know what time we could catch an early bus. I changed our breakfast reservations to later because I didn't know for sure if we could get there in time or not.
