Hi everyone! Just got back a few days ago from my two week honeymoon! :cloud9:
We went on the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK for the first time! I think my fav part was being in MK before the ropes came down, we got to take our picture on an empty Main Street! I must recommend this tour for all Disney fans! I have been going to WDW since I was 3 (now almost 30) and couldn't believe all of the little details pointed out to me that I never saw! It was very cool to go "backstage" and to the utilidors. Hearing all of the stories on why little details are the why they are and hearing about being a character were interesting. Also being backstage and seeing floats and props being worked on was amazing! Be prepared though because it was five hours with a half hour lunch and covers a lot of walking! The most special moment was being backstage and running into the Dapper Dans I think they are called??? They gave our group a private serenade! Highly recommended!!!!

Thanks for the review!

I took the tour a few years ago and loved it. I'd like to take it again sometime, to pick up all the details that I forgot! Plus I'm sure it's a different experience with each tour guide.

Congrats on your wedding, btw!

I would love to do this sometime. But it makes it hard with a little one. You would have to bring someone that could watch them for you. Unless DH didn't go on the tour with me. :scratchin

I did the tour twice once in Oct.'03 and Oct.and loved them both. There was different info. given on each tour and they included different backstage areas.Learning about all the details that go into the parks and the beliefs that are held just adds to the magic.

My hubby and I are doing this tour on May 25th. I have a couple of questions for you.....did you take your camera on the tour??? I was told no cameras when I booked it. Also, did you go on any rides?

Thanks!! :flower:

I'm so excited - I just booked this tour for my honeymoon too! I can't wait.....I have a few months until the tour but I'm very excited, even the person that booked it for me had been on it and highly recommended it!

One question though - do they give you tickets for this or have you on a list of some sort? They never told me. I'm assuming since they asked the resort that I was staying that they are just going to send tickets there.

Poly Princess - thanks!!!

To answer Snoopygirl and Jodistar's questions: No cameras were allowed, we went on two rides, Pirates and Haunted Manison. The CM told us they get a choice of 3 and the other is Jungle Cruise. And no we did not have tickets, we just had to go to City Hall and sign in and they have a name tag waiting for you. Have fun everyone when you go!

Thanks for the info on the tour, we were going to book one for Feb.

Please let me know if they send you tickets for this. My dad's birthday is in August and they are going with us on our October Disney trip. My sister, brother and I were planning on purchasing this trip for him and my mom. I would like to have tickets to present him! Also does this tour fill up fast...fast enought that may be I should book it now?

Carrie, they did not send us tickets but we did book it a few days before we actually went on it, so maybe if you did it far enough in advance they may send tickets? not sure. Not sure how quickly it fills up but it was pretty crowded while we were there and we were able to get it a few days before like I mentioned.

Glad to hear you liked the tour. That's on our list next trip down. I'm really looking forward to it!

oh, one important question...do you get any bathroom breaks? If not, I'll have to do without my morning coffee.

They do give several bathroom breaks but I'd skip the coffee! It didn't seem like they'd really stop if you had to go during a non-break!

Thanks for the answer!

Advice noted and taken...no coffee for me that morning! ;) :rotfl:

We called to reserve a spot for the Keys Tour in March for our June trip. We wanted a specific day, our Anniversary, so I called way ahead to make sure we got it.
Even that much ahead they do not send out any tickets. You will pay for the tour at the time you book it also. if you are a AP holder you will receive a discount.

Thanks for the information about the tickets. I think we will book the tour closer to my dad's birthday in August for our October trip and make our own tickets to present to him. I am going to print out the information about the tour and have it in the card for him. So at least I know what to do now! Thanks everyone! It really looks like that 2-3 months ahead of time is safe to book without sale out. Also...now that I think about it...do they do this tour daily or is it only on certain days of the week?

I am so glad to hear that the tour was good! Do they check bags for cameras? I promise, swear, and anything else I need to do that I don't plan on taking pictures during the tour but want my camera with me for our breakfast at crystal palace. I guess lockers are a possibility but if I can just keep it in my bag then no worries.

Really? We have ours booked for May 23rd and I could have sworn they tooks DW's credit card.

I'll have to ask.

I booked the tour just a few weeks ago and yes, they took my credit card info at the time we booked. I was told that there was a 48 hour cancellation policy - I assume you are charged if you don't show. There was also a 15% AAA discount - definitely worth mentioning if you are a member. No tickets are sent - the CM just said where and when to meet and check in for the tour. Can't wait!! 8 days and counting.

Be sure to bring a photo ID when you check in! I've heard of people who had to reschedule because they didn't bring one.

I highly recommend bringing a small bottle of water with you on tours like this. I forgot to bring any for the Hidden WS tour in December, and certainly regretted it!

When I made our KTTK tour reservation the CM told me to be sure to bring photo ID - not just your resort ID, and the Disney Visa card to secure the Disney Visa discount. I'm still uncertain if this is billed at the time you make the reservation, or at on the day of the tour. Guess I'll find out when this month's bill arrives.

Thanks for the reminder about the water. :wave2: Will certainly need it on a 4-5 hours walking tour!
