Keys to the Kingdom tour review

This past November my DD(16) & I went on the Backstage Magic Tour - the 7 hour one. It was something I always wanted to do, but never did. It was fabulous! We only booked a few weeks before - they did take a charge card # - in fact it was on my CC statement before we even went on the trip! I thought that they wouldn't charge me until after I went! For this tour we met at Epcot, and the tour guide has a clipboard with everyones name on it. They don't send tickets - I think they gave us a confirmation # though. Once everyone was there we took off -all nine of us in a huge Mears bus! We went first backstage at EPCOT - American Adventure, costuming, etc. Then to the warehouse area - walked throught the Christmas Storage warehouse!!! WOW !!- it was so neat seeing all the decorations - the best part was seeing the Contemporary Tree laying there in parts, and then 2 days later it was up in front of the Resort. Also went to the florist, and a building where they create, fix, repair and paint parts to anything & everything! We went to MGM -saw the costuming, etc. up close
had lunch at Mama Melrose's. Then we ended up at the Magic Kingdom, went throught the tunnels, etc. Even got to go on Stitches Great Escape before it was open to the general public! They drive you back to Epcot & drop you off in the parking lot. Even with this tour, if you wanted to stay in the park, you still need to pay extra for that. It was a wonderful day! She did stop quite a few times for a bathroom break. They had bottles of cold water in a cooler on the bus for us. Our tour guide was wonderful - even if you needed to go she would have stopped - no problem.
There was alot of walking - so if you find that hard, it's not the tour to take. We got a special Backstage Magic pin at the end of our tour. My brother went on this tour about 3 years ago - he said they did some things the same, and some things differently. So I guess it depends who your tour guide is & where they take you. The 5 hour tour sounds great too - maybe I'll do that next time!

Sorry, I forgot to tell you that it is repeated many times that you can't take pictures...absolutely no camera's allowed. You are even asked not to have cell phones! I did have my camera & cell phone in my bag. I didn't dare take it out until after the tour was over. How I would have loved to have gotten some pictures! There were so many Kodak moments!
