I'm "sub-letting" a villa for an upcoming family vacation. Everyone is arriving on the same day, but at various times. The ressie is in my name and I arrive first. Do I get key cards for everyone, or does everyone get them as they arrive by giving my name? Also - my brother is active military duty and at the mercy of the navy on whether he gets to come. If he does, it is likely he will come when my SIL leaves mid-week. Do we just give him her card or does he get his own for the remainder of the week?

And a silly little question - is there a broom and vacuum in the utility closet? I don't really want to clean on my vacation, but the reality is my two little kids can be awfully messy and I may want to tidy up once in a while.

I can't answer the Keycard questions, but yes, there is a vacuum and I think a broom, too. I recall my BiL vacuuming last summer while at OKW. One of the boys had dumped a bag of chips, so it was very nice to have.

Have a great time!
:D

The front desk should ask how many room keys do you need and which have charging privileges.

My suggestion would be to get as many key cards as you will need when you initially check-in, that way you can decide who does or does not have charging rights. If anyone is arriving while you may be in the parks, I would try to make arrangements to leave keys for them at the front desk. Maybe they can hold them in an envelope with your guests name on them, and require them to show ID to pick them up?

what type of villa are you talking about - if a 2-bedroom - is it a lock off - if it is a lock-off - call MS and have them made it into 1-bedroom and studio - no extra charge (it was what these were made for) - then your guests can use their credit card at check in.

about changing mid-stream - I am not sure how to handle that - I would have gotten everyone a separate studio and make 2 reservations - but everyone is different.

if you don't like any of these ideals - when you checkin - have the front desk put a note on your reservations about your guest - give your guest your confirmation number (okay my last name is Jackson - there are alot of Jackson's so CM generally need my confirmation number). then they will bring you envelopes - you put your guest name on each envelope plus their date of arrival - then your guest just go by the front desk - like everyone else.

are they taking public transportation or a town car - or are they driving - if they are driving I think you also need to notify security - so their names can be added to list security keeps.

Thanks for the quick answers. We have a 2 BR, but I have no idea whether it is a lock off. My "guests" are actually my in-laws. Since they're freeloading the room as it is, they won't be getting charge priveledges on my card LOL!

In addition to the above comments, be sure to let the front desk or Member Services know the names of the other guests - just in case they arrive at the front desk, & you are not at the resort. It is my understanding that the guests names have to be on the reservation before they can check-in, get a room key, parking pass, etc.

JudithM (or anyone else in the know) - Can I tell the front desk the other guests names when I check in, or should I call ahead of time? Thanks.

We were just at OKW two weeks ago, with one set of guests on Sunday-Monday and another set on Tuesday-Thursday.

The front desk is pretty accommodating. I made sure both parties had copies of the reservation (which was in my name). I also called a few days ahead and made sure the first group's name was on the ressie, since they were likely to get there before me. They did, and checked in, putting the room on their credit card -- I just switched it to mine when I got there. You have the option of having charging priviledges on some cards and not others. You just let them know which ones. they can also recode them if you change your mind about charging on one card or another.

When the second set of guests came Tuesday, we were slated to be in the parks, so I just went to the front desk, gave them the keys the first guests had left. They just put them in a little envelope and with our and their names.

It was easy!

oh, and there are a broom and a vacuum there. With four kids there at various times, including two toddlers, we used them more than ever before!

I would add my friend's name to the reservation ahead of time. That way their names are on the reservation & they can check-in whenever they arrive. If for some reason you don't arrive when you expect to, the others can have a room.
