What is the name of the store that sells sandals in Key West and how do you get there from the pier? I think the name begins with the letter K.

Kino! They are on Fitzpatrick Street, which runs off of Front Street and Greene Street. It's a small cobblestone street which also has a back enterance to the Hog's Breath. When you get off of your ship, you'll access old-town key west by walking past the Custom's House (the huge red roofed brick building). Continue onto Greene Street and make a left onto Fitzpatrick. Kino sandal factory (very small) will be on your right. :)

I am still kicking myself for not buying about 10 pairs of these sandals when we were there on our DCL western cruise last July!! They are great and for $9, a real steal. I checked the website when I got home and they were more than twice the cost and had a shipping cost added to them. My DH and I are planning a week long trip to Key West. I plan on bringing an empty suitcase just for my sandal purchases! Have a great time!!

Here's their website http://www.kinosandals.com/ . The sandals that I got were called Lili. I paid $9 (+ tax). The website price is $19.75 (still a pretty good deal). I think they had all the styles shown on the website at the store in Key West. I believe that ~$11 was the most expensive pair of women's sandals. Like I said, a great deal. I've heard from others that have bought these sandals, that they last a really long time.

I love my Kino sandals!!!!

Happy Shopping!!!!

Yes, they are VERY comfortable. They are cushioned and feel great. We spent a week at WDW following the cruise and I wore them almost every day.

Has anyone purchased the Sunflower sandals..they look adorable..I am just wandering comfort factor? Or as dznyacct mentioned would all their sandals be comfortable?

I always get two or three pairs when we go to Key West. They are so cute, and you just can't beat the price! I try to do this first thing before it gets busy.

I love them also..I only got two pairs for myself, and then some for the daughters. I wish I would have bought a bunch more.

just a note - if you want any of the Kino's sandels - Norm and I are going down next month and won't mind picking up any for anyone - just email me at snelsonbrown@aol.com - a little tidbit - I got a pair for my mom many years ago and my mom has been gone now for 26 years - I still wear them every so often and they are still as comfortable - when we were kids, that is all we wore, but not to school -they were not allowed - Key West being so warm all year round, if we were't in school, or barefooted that is what we wore - the reason they can keep the cost down as much as they do is there is NO A/C there and only fans for the workers - don't know if it is true, but I heard through the conch grape vine, they were being brought out - don't know how or when - hope not.
Anyhow let me know if we can help
Always
Shirley
NO there isn't any charges for picking them up or wrapping them up and sending them to anyone that wants them ok.
Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I was so looking forward to going to Kinos when we were in Key West. However, since it was Sunday the shop was closed :sad2:

Most of the time, Kino's is opened on Sundays - I have offered to pick up sandels for anyone that wanted them - I am already picking up about 25 pairs for those that didn't get a chance to get them - the only cost you will have is the cost of the shoes, plus whatever it cost to send them to you -
I am hoping Kino's will give me "local" rates since I am a 4 generation conch, but who knows - if they do, will pass the savings down to you .
Kino's are neat shoes to wear - not very sexy, but to heck with that when you need real comfort huh.
chat with ya all soon
always

We will be there on Easter Sunday. I wonder if they will be open then? Probably not on a holiday. Shirley, I will be contacting you soon about Easter baskets---Do you do those?
