Dec. 9, 2006 DCL is offering a different cruise that goes to Castaway Cay twice and skips Key West. Also, Costa Maya is offered instead of Grand Cayman. We sailed DCL in 2000 and missed Castaway because of a storm over the island (went to Nassau instead - didn't care much for it).

So, for those of you with experience, which cruise would you take?

We are a family of 4 - kids will be 9 and 12.

The second week of December should be wonderful for CC, I am doing that particular cruise, and although Key West would be cool to visit, I already know that I will have a great time on CC. On our past two cruises, I always left CC feeling like I needed more time there. Now we will visit on Sunday and Friday, what could be better?

Costa Maya is a newer cruise port, but by the time we sail, it should be in great working order. They have a shopping area and sea side pool as well as several beaches, mayan ruin tours etc. I checked out both Carninval and RCC excurions for that ports, lot on offer. Hopefully disney will pick up many of those that are on offer already. Also there is a local town just a couple of miles from the cruise dock to visit. Check out some Costa maya info here, http://www.travelyucatan.com/costa-maya_mexico.php

There are about 40+ dis members and family on that cruise already. We have a meet thread set up over on the meets board, you can find us here, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=687147, Come a chat if you have any questions, and when, not if you book, lol, come join us!

I've already made that call and will be going on the double dip cruise in Dec. I booked this cruise on my Mousefest'04 cruise which was the first part of Dec. and the weather was great(hoping for the same on the next cruise). It was even smooth the first night when we crossed the gulfstream which has always been very rough on my first two Disney cruises.

We are doing the double stop at CC in May '06. I think it will be great to kick off our vacation there and even better knowing we don't have to pack up that day (since CC is usually the last day). We are looking forward to seeing Costa Maya as well.

My family will be on the August 19, 2006 double dip cruise to Castaway Cay, we are not only looking forward to two stops at CC, but also two ports that we haven't been to yet, Costa Maya and Cozumel. Also looking forward to meeting up with a great group of fellow DIS'ers during this cruise!!! :goodvibes

CASTAWAY TWICE CRUISE!

Okay, I know being local to Key West may play a small role in my opinion on this. But really, you can not beat a day, let alone two, at Castaway Cay! It is the prettiest little island in the caribbean in my opinon. If they had electricty and all the comforts of home they wouldn't be able to get me to leave it!!!! :earsboy:
