We are booked on the Wonder later in the Fall that has a stop in Key West. I have been there before, so fairly familiar with it, but have always taken a Port Adventure, but the last time, Disney had a hoping/hop off Conch Train, which is no longer listed.

What we would like to do is see the Hemingway House for some cat therapy, maybe the lighthouse, and then try to see the Truman White House for the tour.

Problem is, my son is recovering from a stroke, doing well, in fact we took the same cruise last year and the time at sea actually improved his balance and walking. His main issue now is walking quickly, and I am wondering how crowded the bus service gets on a Sunday when a cruise ship is in port, (so far the Wonder is the only one listed) and is it too crowded at the Truman house with already booked Port Adventures to get a separate ticket.

Ideally, the PA we have booked would start at the Truman House and then we would be allowed off the Conch Train at the Hemingway House, but it appears that isn’t possible.

Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks!

I'd suggest you look into the Old Town Trolley Tours: https://www.trolleytours.com/key-west

Stop 5 is close the Hemingway House, while stop 1 is close to the Truman House. There are other stops, but you can get on and off as many times as you wish.

you could rent an electric golf cart, (i dont know specific name for them). we rented an extra large one and it was so wonderful. we came and went as we pleased all over the place.

Thank you! Anyone have an idea of how crowded it is when a ship is in port? I am asking because I have been in Bermuda when the cruise ships come in and it was difficult to get a bus.

I take it they are frequent?

Again, thank you for thanking the time to help!

The Old Town Trolley is a hop on/hop off. They just keep running. If I recall, they were roughly 15-20 minutes apart. If one is too full, just wait for the next.

You can google and find a separate website for the conch train, FWIW. Not sure if it works for what you want, but it is an option. I think we used the other one, though, on our own.

You gotta stop at Margaritaville, if you have time. Yes, you'll have a cheeseburger and several Buffett songs to experience. Jimmy might be there, too...long shot! Not mouse related but a great memory for us before we got a parking ticket.
