Kevin's T Rex review

We have one in our area (suburban Kansas City) and we tried to take DS 2 1/2 at the time. We open the door and the giant T-Rex lowers its head and roars at us. DS was done. That's as far as we made it. He would've HATED the rest!

We wound up at Cheeseburger in Paradise and DS scored some toys b/c we felt so bad traumatizing him.....

I think it's just in line with the current trend in entertainment (music, movies, rides, etc...): LOUDER is BETTER!

Am I the only one who finds Kevin a bit on the exact opposite side of the target audience for most restaurants at disney? I mean his reviews are pretty entertaining but is he speaking for even 10% of disney goers? He sounds like my grumpy older brother complainin about the kids and their darn rock music!!!

I honestly believe Kevin is speaking for Kevin; however, I'd always tell anyone who asks for dining advice at Disney World to try a particular restaurant for themselves and see if they like it or dislike it. Not every restaurant appeals to every person. Disney restaurants also have "on days and off days" and can be inconsistant. The good ones are less inconsistant and the bad ones are more inconsistant. At least that is what I've found.

totally agree, I love Kev's reviews and find him hilarious but at the same time, other than entertaining, are they really a service to a disney goer? I dunno, just was mulling it over tonight on my run.......I guess most folks are pretty much of the opinion that they should make up their own mind. Which I think is an awesome idea!

While I understand your point, I'd say that 10% is pretty low. I've found Kevin's reviews to be very much similar to my take on things.

I'm a little curious as to what you think the target audience is for this restaurant? It must be extremely well-off people with scads of disposable income and completely bomb-proof or utterly deaf children...

LOL!!!!!

I think you might be right. But seriously, I know tons of people who love love love Rainforest Cafe and will LOVE this place. I personally enjoy Rainforest and hope to enjoy this place but will reserve opinion until 2012! I just got accepted into University as a mature student and will be broke for the next 4 years! UGH!

I appreciate Kevin's reviews and while they are hilarious I know that Kevin is keeping it real from his perspective. I'm quite sure my 9 & 5 year old boys would love the idea of it but I'm not sure I could stand it if it really is that noisy. It's like when the t.v. is on the kids are yelling and someone is trying to ask me a question at the same time I have an out of body experience!

Kevin should back and try eating at the bar. Wednesday evening around 9pm, we had split the $14 plate of nachos that pretty filling (liquid cheese not shredded), $9.99 Tropical cotto-tini (got to keep the shaker), and a Coke for NC Beast. There was a lot of noise/light chaning effects, asking if we are good/need more drinks/food, and our opinions. The noise tolerable at the bar and we were able to maintain conversations when we were not mesmerize by the effects. The build-a-dino and the store was not too busy and the front people stopped announcing names around 10 pm. I guess that they tone down the outside effects about a hour before their closing time. The shop had a great range of gifts that includes a T-Rex plastic cup that flashes for about $5 (it maybe less), dino theme books, dino theme games, and other neat things.

One manager gave us a takeout menu so that is a benefit for those who don't need the show.
