When I watched the Iron Chef and the secret ingredient was LEEKS!

I was surprised that they could have a whole show around this, especially after hearing your discription on the podcast. Did you watch?

I didnt see it.

I cant imagine leeks being the star of anything.

Honestly....LEEKS!

Hey! I like leeks! They are great in soup (Potato and leek being a favorite) and in chicken dishes! My boyfriend makes a great chicken and leek pie!

Hurray for leeks!

When I was watching this last night I thought the same thing about the leeks, as I had just listened to the podcast! They even made a leek dessert by soaking them in vannila and layering them w/ carmel and pineapples! I didn't get to see what the judges actually thought of it though.

The important phrase in each thing you listed is "and leeks".

You dont mention Leek Soup. It's Potato Soup .....and leeks.

I'll do it again.

You didnt say Leek Pie. You said Chicken.....and leeks.

Leeks just arent that important.

I have a secret wild Leek patch up north at our cottage.
It is way back in the bush, accessible by ATV only, at the site of a ghost town that was known as "Orange Valley", abandoned in 1904.
The patch is about 2500 square feet and yields very good leeks every spring (May 24th usually, during the height of blackfly season :scared1:)
My parents used to pickle them.

If you dont like someone, or dont want to be kissed, eat pickled leeks....

Leeks look kinda yummy.
I don't remember ever trying them.

BTW also about the flying fish reveiw.
Salty/sweet combo i looove when there is mix salty and sweet Chocolate covered pretzels yum.
Never thought of it being on carmel i will have to try that.

OMG.....that sounds sooooooooooooooooooooooooo disgusting. :scared:
Leeks with pineapple and caramel?!?!?! :scared: Ewwwwwwwww.

I like leeks, leeks in soup are good! :thumbsup2 I can't imagine the dish Kevin described though, it definitely needs to be a main "something" and then the leeks.

I have to defend the dish at the Flying Fish with the leeks. I liked this dish so much I dream about it! (I guess that's why they make both chocolate and vanilla!)

Leeks are actually pretty good. But Kevin has point you don't usually see them in a dish to themselves.

I like Leeks now Lima Beans I have issues with.:lmao:
