Kevin ...about the not fitting in

Hi Angie and everyone!

:ccat:I'm glad you started this thread Angie, I know exactly what you're talking about. I always had trouble fitting in or at least in my mind that's how I perceived it. I've been around the DIS since 2007 but only recently started posting a lot more. I still feel like the kid on the outside though, I hope Kevin is right and it just takes time to get to know people. So my name is Bonnie and I live in San Diego and go to DL as much I can. My faves are Alice in Wonderland characters. Can't you tell? :ccat:

I think there are a lot of us out therre that struggle, I do manage at times to cover it up but inside I feel physically sick and everything is in knots.
Its sad but a lot of things that were said in youth often stay with you, I wish I know how to let all that go...but hey ho...nice to meet you Bonnie:)

Yay! Kansans represent! SamSam, I know we've chatted before. Where are you at again??

Oh, and I was the girl who wasn't particularly smart, popular, or pretty so I made up for it by being funny. I was the Carol Burnett of my high school crowd. :-)

:goodvibesI love Kansas! I'm in Salina. I have a brother who used to live in Olathe, now lives in Gardner.
Small world, isn't it.

Welcome all you newbies, so glad you're making yourselves known.

Hi Angie!

Welcome....And be sure to join us for Wednesday night chats. It's a great way to get to know everyone.

Been a lurker for a while. Nice to see how friendly and inviting folks are to newer posters. Does the heart good!

If you go in around Midnight, there are usually a few early people there!

I do some of the chats, but then again I am a student with nothing else better to do!

Hi Angie & Bonnie. Like you both I've been around a long time for the pitiful number of posts I have made. I read a lot more than I post, and also listen to the podcast regularly. Some of it is because I'm a bit guilty of staying away for a while after I've finished a trip as it depresses me a bit to think how far away my next trip will be. I'm going to try not to do that this time.

Here is my fb link for anyone who would like a new Disney loving friend. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=718234845

Angie I'm here in the UK with you, so feel your pain about the time difference. I'm a bit of a night owl so that helps. And as I am originally from Portland, Maine I'm also used to having to contact people late when I want to talk to my family. :)

So here's to lurking less!!! :drinking1

Hi Angie, et al. I'm Amy (link is to my Facebook)

I totally know the outsider kid syndrome. I was the short kid with the weird walk (I have a muscle disorder).

My SO and I live in New York City, and work in musical theatre. We just got back from his first trip to The World, and I used the Dis Unplugged podcasts to help me plan. We're headed back in October for the Wine & Dine Half Marathon.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. There are some very nice people on these boards. You may not always have the same opinion but generally everyone is respectful. I have joined the Wednesday night chats before. They are a blast but they go at a 100 miles a minute. I don't always get the inside jokes but I never feel left out.

I am glad you stepped out and became more visible. Again - welcome.
Carol

Hey, Rm 317 -- musical theatre in New York? My daughter would be intensely jealous. She is 11, spends 18-20 hours in the dance studio weekly and dreams of working in musical theatre in New York. Must be a blast!

WELCOME

Click my siggie for my Facebook page. Like Don said, we are a snarky bunch!

Welcome. <sarcasm>The best way to be "normal" here is to be at least a little odd in real life. </sarcasm>

Don, when all else fails use the sarcasm tags :thumbsup2

Welcome Angie and hello to everyone else! I struggle to find time to visit the Boards lately - especially since I have no trip planned, SAD!! I can see where some people feel "left out" here on the Boards as some people are very, very active and have therefore gotten to know the "team" personally. It can feel a bit like walking into a party where you know no one sometimes! However, this section of the DIS Boards is by far the friendliest. Just jump in and join the threads; pretty soon you'll be one of the gang!
