keurig coffee maker ?

I got ours on Black Friday last year when Kohl's had it on sale, I had a 30% code and they were offering bonus Kohl's cash. I don't know exactly which model we have, but it holds enough water for about 4 cups of coffee.

I buy the k cups at Sam's Club because they are so much cheaper. I will buy the flavored coffee October thru December (love pumpkin spice, gingerbread, eggnog, etc.... ) at Bed, Bath, and Beyond with a coupon for those.

We LOVE our Keurig!

I think the Keurig makes a terrible cup of tea. I love the coffee, but if you want a good cup of tea a tea kettle and a tea bag is much better.

I'm also amazed at how long everyone's Keurig's have lasted. Our first died at 14 months (two months after the warranty died) and then I bought one for our home and the bottom of the line one for my DH for his office (Cheaper than Starbucks). 14 months after that the more expensive one died and my husband brought his simpler Keurig home. It still works, but every now and then it gets hung up and to reset it we have to push the on/off button at the same time as the brew button.

My brother in law has had two die on him in a 4 year period and my FIL's which he had for 3 years just died. My FIL plans to buy a new one but he's going to buy the extended warranty.

Wow I've never heard of anyone having such bad luck with their machines. Did you contact Keurig? I've heard that they have great customer service. Did they just stop brewing? As I mentioned in my post, sometimes it's just a clogged line from the coffee grounds. If you google the problem, you may be able to fix one if you still have the machine.

I have had mine for over a year. It is the model with the resevoir for the water. We run through about 10 cups a day (4 people). We have had to clean the nozzles once (the directions on how to do that were on the Keurig web site.)

Although the K cups appear a little expensive at times, we all have different coffee tastes, so what some liked in our old 8 cup brewer, others wouldn't/didn't drink so they were running to the coffee shop on the way to work. What we have saved from coffee shop trips, it probably all balances out....(although I'm sure Tim Horton has missed our many trips).

I usually buy my coffee where they sell 24 cups for $15.98 - they have trays where we can mix and match what flavours or blends we want and if you want to try something new, you don't have a whole box of something you may not like..... I have seen them cheaper from time to time. Costco has larger boxes where the cost per cup is less, but as someone already mentioned, they are all the same flavour/roast/blend. In the summer we really enjoy the iced coffees and teas.

I still have my 8-12 cup drip brewer which I still dig out for parties, when a lot of company is coming....

I guess I'm a little shocked at the price - I paid less than $100.00 (before tax) and I'm in Canada where everything costs more.....

Which is a good one and what should i be looking for when if i buy one. Dh has a 30% off coupon at kohl's

Oh and where the best buy to buy the cups? Can i find these at costco or Sam's?

Agree with the people who say it's not a great deal for tea, although I do make a lot of chai teas in the cooler months. I also make a ton of iced tea in the summer, both the perfect black iced tea and the half & half tea/lemonade.

It's not the cheapest way to make coffee, but it's hugely convenient, and that's a big win in my book.

I have the B70, and bought it at Costco. Haven't had any issues with it, as long as I make sure to clean the needle often when I'm using any of the sweetened cups. I bought my father the same model for Christmas, and he likes his, too.

As far as buying cups, Costco has 4 flavors in bigger boxes, and yes, they are the cheapest around. BJ's also carries some. Can't comment on Sams, since I don't have a membership there. Second best is buying from BB&B with coupons. My third favorite is directly from Keurig.com. If you have a membership with them (free), everything is discounted. I think it's 20%. Also, when you spend $45 in one order, you get free shipping. And... they sell 5 cup sample packs so you can try out a flavor without a huge commitment.

Oh, and there are better options for using your own coffee than the My K-Cup. I've tried the Solofill and the Ekobrew, and like the EkoBrew a lot.

Hope this helps!

The first brewer we tried to clean out the lines and clean it with vinegar, but no luck. The second brewer we googled and that's how we found out how to reset our simple model, the reset did not work with the more complex model.
My BIL had good luck returning his to Bed Bath and Beyond, but I bought the first one at Sams and they don't have very good customer service if you didn't buy the extended warranty. I bought my 2nd fancy Keurig at a store that went out of bussiness so I didn't contact them. I did not contact Keurig directly. My DH is the real coffe drinker and he may go back to Mr. Coffee if this one breaks.

You can also get cheaper coffee through Amazon. Especially if you are a prime member so you don't have to pay for shipping.

As others have said, the Keurig machines do not make the best coffee, but it is convenient and you can have a variety of different blends/flavors.

We do not solely use our Keurig. We use it when DW and I do not eat breakfast together, or if we want warm coffee during the day. For mornings that we do eat breakfast together, we have a Cuisinart Grind-and-Brew. This makes much better coffee than the Keurig, but can be a PITA to clean. For ice coffee, I've recently learned about cold press coffee and bought a french press to make it. I also use the cold press coffee along with my Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker for homemade Frappuccinos. As you can tell, we are coffee addicts! :coffee:

We love ours.

We also got a Sollofill cup for it so we can use our own coffee and teas in it. You can find them on Amazon. It works great for when we want coffee or tea you can't get in a k-cup.

I have the Platinum one. The VUE is new, so it doesn't have as much variety of flavors and they aren't as readily available, so I'd avoid that one. The one where you have to add water for each cup is a pain and tends to get messy if you overfill it. Different models allow different cup sizes and have different size reservoirs, so those are things you need to think about before choosing one.

I use it to make hot chocolate for my daughter... I dump a Swiss Miss packet in the cup and then run the Keurig with no k-cup in it to get water for the cocoa. Way cheaper than the k-cups of cocoa (and I don't like them as well). I also use the my k cup with regular coffee instead of buying k-cups.

I got mine at a garage sale. I don't use it enough to justify paying the store prices for it. They do have good customer service (I've had to call about my mom's that stopped working).

I have heard that Starbucks is coming out with their own machine this Christmas. So maybe the prices will come down on the Keurigs?

Also agree that Solofill is much better than MyKCup, but prefer to use actual k-cups. Recently ordered from 11thStreetCoffeeco (?)- had a link when I was on the faceplace. 24 count cases for $11.99, free shipping with $65 order. Regular sale price for them is $12.99 for 24.

Sorry to hear that. I think if you contacted Keurig directly you might have gotten a better outcome-if you don't think too much time has passed I would give them a call. What do you have to lose?

I just purchased in June the smaller Keurig that you fill each time you want a cup of coffee. I heard that this was a better choice than others, because it does not clog as easily (because you put the water in each time you want coffee).

I hit a QVC sale, by chance, that had ez-pay on just about everything. I got the Keurig, expedited shipping, a "my KCUP", a box of Donut Shop coffee, and a box of assorted coffee for around $125 shipped. Which worked out to around $25/month on the ez-pay.

I used a credit card with a zero balance and just pay off the charge monthly.

And the best part : When I registered my Keurig on the Keurig.com website, they had a promotion that gave you a coupon for 2 free boxes when you purchased 2 boxes, PLUS free shipping.

So I got 4 boxes (96 kcups) for around $36 shipped!

We use our Keurig daily. DH loves the Donut Shop coffee, and I love the Gloria Jean Butter Toffee flavor. YUM!

I don't regret our choice in Keurig. It may be a lower end model, but the reviews were better than a lot of them.
