Ketchup on Scrambled Eggs

I used to put ketchup on my scrambled eggs - my dad used to always do it (he still might, actually). I got out of the habit of doing it in college because it grossed out my girlfriend (future wife). :o

I love ketchup on my scrambled eggs and omlets. I admit to putting a fair amount on them! :thumbsup2
Not so much on over easy eggs though. Go figure. :confused3

Once in a while I crave it.

My fave is chives, sharp cheddar, salt and pepper. Maybe a little sour cream.

Not on scrambled eggs. If I make a fried egg sandwich, though, I do.

Growing up, we put grape jelly on our eggs. Turned them somewhat green, but IIRC (from a kid's perspective), it tasted great.

Yes scrambled eggs and omelets I eat it with ketchup. Scrambled eggs I put it on it. Omelets I put some to the side and dip it in it.

I like ketchup on my scrambled eggs. My grandfather always ate them that way because he couldn't have salt. I guess that's why I do it as my husband is on a low sodium diet so I use almost no salt in my cooking. I also like salsa or hot sauce depending on my mood. My one daughter puts ketchup on everything. When she moved out I went from buying one BIG bottle a week to one smaller bottle a year. I never realized how much ketchup she used.

We use salsa on eggs around here. (Mexican food influence.) Ketchup works fine on French fries and hash browns, but a delicate omelette (or wanna-be omelette known as scrambled eggs) deserves salsa.

But to each their own. Kinda like salt on watermelon -- what ever works for you, and viva le difference!

Ketchup on eggs? We have officially ran out of topics to discuss. :rotfl: :rotfl:

But yeah, ketchup on eggs is awesome! Hotsauce too!

Always put ketchup on my scrambled eggs.

some people find it strange, while others do it too.

Hubby grew up in Kansas, and his mother always always had a "relish tray" before any fancy meal or at any party, with pickled veggies and 2 or 3 kinds of olives on it. I didn't grow up with that, and I've never really seen it anywhere else, but in his little Kansas town it was clearly the done thing.

my family loves black olives and has them as appetizers at every holiday meal or party. The kids love putting them on their fingers.
That was me as a kid. 😆

Not on scrambled eggs. If I make a fried egg sandwich, though, I do.

Same. I don't mind it on scrambled eggs, but I generally don't bother, as I like them equally well without. I generally put it on egg sandwiches made with toast though. (Not so much if I'm using English muffins.)

DH and DS have the ketchup discussions around here - DH likes it on eggs, but not chicken nuggets, DS the exact opposite. They tease each other about it's proper use.

Growing up, we put grape jelly on our eggs.

DW had an uncle that put grape jelly on pumpkin pie. My dad would put syrup on fried eggplant ("They taste like little pancakes!")

Sorry for the OT content, back to to the original topic so everyone can...catch up:earboy2:
