I have made the decision today that I am back on track!! I have not been on track in quite a long time but I need a change because what I am doing now is not working for me!
I did WW a few years ago when I was getting married and lost 35 pounds from February 2002 to December 2002. I was able to gain that weight back by June of 2003. Yes six months. It's amazing what chocolate chip cookies can do to a bod!!

I went to Ann Taylor Loft today and bought a dress that kinda sorta fits me. My goal is to wear this dress to a wedding on September 4th. I am figuring if I lose 10-12 pounds by then, that should be approximately one dress size. Is this even possible????

Oh and by the way, I need to lose beyond that 10 pounds I mentioned so casually. I think I need to lost about 40 pounds total. I say about because I am petrified to get on my scale.
I accidentally ate a bag of choc chip cookies from Trader Joe's yesterday. Has anyone ever had those??? They say it's molasses in the cookies, but I think it is some kind of drug. I can actually taste them right now....... :crazy:

OK and another reason I need to lose weight and I can't believe I am admitting this.... My DH and I are going to Disney in October and my ex-boyfriend works in Disney so I know I will be seeing him. The last time I saw him was during my weight loss period and I looked pretty darn good. Now I have to meet his new girlfriend, blah blah blah.
Yes, I know this is shallow, but we all need our motivators!!!

I think I may attempt to do the Slim Fast diet. I do not cook, at all. I think I can handle popping the top of a can.

Today's Menu was:
Slim Fast for Breakfast
Slim Fast for Lunch
Slim Fast Snack Bar
Slice of Pizza with no cheese for Dinner
Peach for a snack

Did Tae Bo video and 15 minutes on the weight machine. I think that is enough exercise for a chubby girl for one day.
Let's see what happens.....
 
Hey, motivation is motivation whatever the reason and that is a pretty good motivation!!! I have a MAJOR sweet tooth. I came by it honest, though. My grandfather ate Chip's Ahoy cookies every morning for breakfast for as far back as I can remember. It's so much easier to blame someone else, isn't it??? Try to get more veggies and fruit in with the Slim Fast. I found that if I drink the shake in the morning and eat a banana or something an hour later, that I stay full for a little longer. I ran out of shakes this week and have to get back to get some. I got the WalMart brand this last time, and they taste so much better!! They are not as thick. It's like drinking chocolate milk.

Hey Kerry!! Welcome to the WISH Journal boards! :) Truly a great place to be. You're doing great!!

Make sure to get some water in too, okay? Read other people's journals...Tara (lmhall2000) Slim-fasts too, so you can talk with her. Congrats on the prior weight loss!!! That's faboo (fabulous).

I'd leave a cheer in your journal (I will when the smilies come back, I promise!) but the smilies are down, sorry!

Thanks so much for the support. I am going to Target later so maybe I will try their brand and see if they are like Wal-Mart's.

The AC at my job is broken so I am hoping that this will have an affect on my weight loss. It is hot hot hot!!!

Today's menu so far....
Slim Fast for breakfast
canned pineapple for a snack.
Slim Fast for Lunch

I am planning on making an iced coffee later for my 3 o'clock slump.
Day 2 and so far still on track!!! now I just need to weigh myself.
 

Hey, Kerry! Good luck with your plan! I second what you have already heard:
try to eat some non-starch veggies once in a while and be sure to drink plenty of water. I think those two things will boost your results since it seems like you are doing everything else you can do (including exercise).

OK, I weighed myself this morning.
It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I mean, it was still bad for me but hey, I did this to myself and in a way, I had fun getting there!!
So, I weighed in at 186.5 ppounds. That means I only want to lose 36.5 pounds to take me to 150. I am 5'6" so I think that is what WW said I should be on the higher end of their chart.

I am going to set a short term of goal of 10% which is 18 pounds. I think that will let me see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel.....

Today is Day 3 of no AC at work. I am already on my 3rd water bottle so adding water has not been a problem. I bought Key Limes from Trader Joe's and am adding that to my water. It gives the water some zest.

I have been having my slimfast for breakfast and lunch everyday along with a TON of water. I spend half the day in the ladies room.
I have also made sure that I do not eat anything past 8 pm. I think it really should be 7 pm but with my work schedule it is not possible.

I will try on the dress next week to see if there has been any progress.
Just gotta keep exercising!!!

Welcome - sorry you've been here as long as you have already and I haven't made it here yet. But I wanted to pop in and tell you that setting short term goals is a very good thing to do. If you don't then looking at the big picture will be discouraging if you don't have a big loss one week. I started looking at the big picture and then realized I needed to look at the smaller picture and that has helped me tremendously!!!!!

I weighed myself this monring. I was going to wait until tomorrow b/c it would have been one week but I have no patience. I lost 4 pounds!! I am so excited!!! :Pinkbounc

Off to have a slimfast!!!
 
I have been keeping to my Slim Fast Plan so I am very proud of myself.
Today I definately slacked off with drinking water. I left my water bottle at home so that was my excuse why I drank so much less. I did notice that around 3:00 I had a bad headache. Coincidence???

I have been scrapping a lot at night so that has been keeping me from eating. I figured it was time I got around to scrapping some wedding pics people gave us. Anything to keep me from eating!!! :mickeybar

Tomorrow morning I will see what the scale says. Even if the number is not drastic I am still proud that I have kept up with my "Plan."
 
Well, tomorrow is the wedding that I was trying to lose weight for. I didn't lose enough that I feel totally comfortable in the dress but I do feel better!!
I am going to return the dress I bought because I found something very flattering and in my favorite color, turquoise!!!
They are having a martini bar at the wedding, so I will have to watch my alcohol intake. When I drink more, I eat more. I guess I stop thinking about what I am doing! Just gotta have control!! It's funny, I am a complete control freak, just not with the weight.

Just popping in with an update.... I have lost nine pounds since I started my Slim Fast plan.
I noticed that my favorite jeans now fit. I hadn't realized that they didn't before!!! :rolleyes1
I am drinking about 3-4 bottles of water a day. That is a lot of water but I really think it is helping. I definately do not snack as much at work. At night while DH eats ice cream, I am eating fat free jello pudding with some Fat Free Cool Whip. I just pretend it is a sundae.
Only 3 weeks to go until WDW.....
 
Congrats on the weightloss! You've been doing great. You'll look awesome for that trip to Disney!
 
Thanks Jane and Chris!! I had a great time at the wedding!! Besides my own, it was one of the best I have been to. I drank more than I ate. (those cosmos sneak up on you) :drinking1 But I did dance, a lot, so I burned some calories.

I have decided to join Weight Watchers tomorrow. One of the women at work goes so I figure I will tag along. The last time I had a major weight loss it was with WW. I just have to change my thinking so I can keep it off.
