Kerry supporters, a thought

BTW, doesn't it feel great to live in a state that's going blue this year? I think so!!! :wave2:

No it doesn't feel great! I know Kerry quite well so it saddens me but what are ya gonna do?;) I'm quite used to it, although Regan did win MA!!!:teeth:

In all honesty, what else could he say?;)

Yeah, I've heard it all before so what's the point? Especially since this thread is all about stopping the debating and doing more productive things with our time, right?

FYI, it's a she not a 'he'

I really wish the kerry supporters would just ignore all the opposition in threads like this. It was intended to get people out and help and someone decided to turn it into a political thread, both sides are guilty here. So please just ignore the other side in threads like this. It will really make them look low. My little rant is now over.

Do you guys think you can keep these folks so busy that
they will forget to vote on November 3rd ;) or what!?

We have been joking at Bush/Cheney '04 for months about telling our non-supporters to be sure to vote November 3rd. I guess some have listened.

The election is November 2nd

I'm sure that was just a typo, but I don't want people of any party misinformed as to when the election is.

Is that how they do things in R can sas? :teeth:

I totally agree. I conducted a seminar with the senior facility I worked for to teach them how to use the new technology. We conducted a drive to make sure all new residents, AND their families, were registered. And as with the primaries, we will be providing transportation to the polls in November to those who want to go and how to absentee vote to the others. The seniors I worked with are upscale, highly educated people with strong opinions that they are more than willing to share... and they're ALL mad at Bush. I have NEVER seen such anger.

I personally think that its just politics... America is America, and he will sink or swim with whatever president we have... And I know America can swim through anything

It's not what they may be doing in R can sas I worry about, but a repetition of the stunt they pulled in Florida :(

If you wish to mobilize and convince people like me to switch my vote, convince me why Kerry is a better choice not why Bush is so bad. I will repeat what I posted on a previous post:

Many are saying they disagree with Bushes policies. In all of this, I still have never heard or read what EXACTLY John Kerry can do better? Why are you voting for Kerrry (or are you just voting against Bush and do not care who beats him)? I don't want to hear what Bush did wrong, I want to here how Kerry can improve my life and what it will cost me (because I know he is going to raise my taxes)

Don't talk political generalities, GIVE ME SPECIFICS along with why it is better than what Bush is doing.

On every post that I put this up NO ONE from the Kerry camp answers. Whenever I pose this question to a Kerry supporter in person, they can only answer with more anti Bush talk. Why? You are all so dead set on defeating Bush, but have yet to prove to people like me why Kerry is better.

I have been, and will continue to wait for the answer.

Laz, I don't answer simply because every time a reason is given it is torn apart, linked to an article or put up to public ridicule.

I totally understand that, there truly could be NO logical sense to why someone would believe in something I don't believe in, either.. but I respect them for the way they feel and the reason they came to that conclusion.

I never feel the need to explain myself to anyone, I'm a grown woman with enough sense to make the decision on my own without having to feel obligated to give THE SPECIFICS to people who believe in something that is so totally different from where I'm coming from.

We just don't understand each other.

BTW, I don't want to make anyone switch, I just want those with a decision to be able to get out and make it and not feel like it doesn't matter. That's the challenge in my world this year.

I am not knocking who you are or what you believe in, I am not trying to "set you up". I am trying to get a handle on what direction Democrats and Kerry supporters are going. I know Bushes policies, I know his motto is "stay the course". He will continue with the same economic, domestic, and military plans. Okay, what will Kerry do in each of these areas other than raise taxes? If you are going out and campaigning for any politician, you should be prepared to answers these questions. I am not asking you to explain yourself, I am asking you to explain Kerry and why you approve of his policies. You say you have never seen people so mad a Bush and his policies. What convinces these people that Kerry's policies are any better? Or do they even care?

I usually don't waste my time talking to people like you who are
voting for Bush anyway. Kerry is moral, normal, not an addict,
a dove and won't drag us into senseless immoral wars. Kerry
is not a mysogenist, he's for women's rights and privacy. Kerry
spreads hope, something this country needs plenty of. Kerry is
intellectually curious, gracious, culturally literate and a man of
courage. Kerry is flexible-not rigid(rigidity is part of addiction),
Kerry is a liberal. Liberal is a good word, it means generous.

I don't like George Bush because of his policies. When he was
elected I had hope for him because he was portrayed in his
campaign as the great compromiser. He talked of non-partisan
politics. He lied. He knows nothing of compromise-it's his way or the highway. He is a totally arrogant, narrow minded, dry drunk
and I care about all of it. I care about his horrifically uneducated
stance on stem-cell research, I care about his mysogenistic policies about health legislation, his appointments of really scary
people who base their health opinions on the Bible. I could really
get on a roll here but I don't have time. The rally starts at 7:30 and I have to find a place to park. I'm sure you are going to
take this all personally like I've said these things about you. Hey,
if the shoe fits. I'm gone.

But what about everyone else in the global community? Wh are we willing to let sink?

I personally think that there is a lot at stake with this election- certainly the whole world will be watching.
