Kerry & Esty - 12/7/10- SBP/MVMCP (Rev Issues)

Hi Kerry! Thats great that you can get your 401K now. I would deff. take it all and spend on it on the wedding! :lmao: It is a once in a lifetime event, and you have a long time to save for retirement! I think you should deff. do an MK photo shoot. Won't the castle be decorated for Christmas? I saw another bride on here with an MK photo shoot when all the lights were on the castle for Christmas and they were soooo beautiful!

I can't wait for the MVMCP dates to come out either because we want to go when we are down there for our planning session, and I don't want to book anything until they are announced because we are going in late December and I want to make sure we will be there when MVMCP is going on. Maybe we will be down there during your wedding!

I am worried about my hair too, that's why I think I might just do it myself. That way I can practice practice practice up here and get it perfect before the big day.

Your vows sound really great! yay for getting everything set! I love the fact that you are having both sets of parents "renew their vows". Great idea!

5-6 more weeks!!! So exciting! I can't wait to here about more planning!

Wow, you vows sound fantastic! I love that you incorporate Pandora's box, they are really lovely :lovestruc

I looovvveee your first dance song. Coldplay's Yellow is an amazing song, I think it's a great choice. :woohoo:

I'm pretty sure Patricia will be able to do magic with your hair. It sounds like you have at least some length so there's the option for her to at least do a half up/half down style. But if you can pull it back in a ponytail, she probably can put it all up. I'm sure it will be wonderful! :yay:

Hey. Congratuations! Wow, we're planning our weddings around the same time and you have soooo much more done than I do. I have my dress (my mother's), date/venue, and an idea for Save the Dates. That's about it. Sounds like I need to get my bum in gear and get the ball rolling!

FYI - I've been quoting your vows to random people at work for the past few days, I work in the internet industry with a whole lotta gamers so I have had to tell this story many times....my favorite line ever in any wedding vows is "What Gears of War brought together let no locust separate" (hope I got that right I did it from memory and is IS only 7 AM)....

My fiance is also a huge gamer too and now I think he is jealous that you got your an xbox cake. :rotfl:

On serious note, I do really love the vows, I want to try to incorporate little pieces of us into our ceremony and yours gives me some good ideas, so thanks!

I did some research and it appears they publish the dates on May 1st. So I'll be reserving a date in April, and then doing a mad search every day after until I can order the MVMCP tickets (20-25 tickets @ 60+ a pop :headache:)

I'm taking a ton of vitamins/biotin to hopefully start some massive hair growth...if not, I'm throwing it in a bun and calling it a day!

These boards are a great source of info. I spent hours and hours reading people's PJs for ideas and it really helps!

lol - glad you like the vows. We're slightly addicted to the xbox (we each have two). Everyone going knows how we met (over Gears of War) so we had to fit it in some how (and I'm having my Lancer flown from Philly to Orlando - there *will* be pictures of me in my dress holding my Lancer). We don't do dinner & a movie nights, we do co-op over a game nights.

I found two people in Orlando that can do an Xbox cake if you want a Groom's cake!

My wedding band just came in...yay

Okay it's a crappy picture but it's rows of diamonds and sapphires

I love your ring!:thumbsup2
Everything sounds wonderful and I can't wait to hear more.:woohoo:

Today was slow at work so I did some serious number crunching.

We found that it was $500 cheaper for us to stay the week of Dec 6th than the Week of Dec 13th (I guess 18th & 19th get into peek season) so we asked Bill to pencil us back in for Dec 7th at noon. I have a good feeling the MVMCP will be Tuesday and Thursday again and if that's the case, I think we're on...now just hoping David and Vicki Arndt are still available.

I also figured out if we had everything we wanted, just how much more would we need to come up up...and we're looking at 17,500 total. That is a VERY high estimate, not taking into consideration discounts for AAA, the TiW, the AP discounts. With $7,250 so far (thank you $500 worth of carwork and $2,500 in tuition)...we're still in the hole for 10,500. I still have my teachings, tax refunds, birthday money etc etc so it will slowly come together. If not, we will just drop some things like the MK/Epcot photo package to another time.

To explain a bit that makes up our budget:

Ceremony $6,000 (including the service charge/taxes)
Ohana $1,100
MVMCP $1,350
Characters $1,200 (will drop to one or none if needed)
Photo Package $1,500 (will postpone)
Photographers $850 (fingers crossed the FIL's will cover this
Day After Brunch $1,000 (on the cutting block!)
Floral $200
Invitations $100
Audio system $250
Favors $550
Hotel $2,495
Airlines $600

I made DF do a budget with me today, some times I feel like I need him to understand how much this is going to cost... It seems like you are doing well, just remember what my MoH told me, "Pick what is most important, and budget everything else around it!" For me it is the dessert party!! I am all about having a DP at EPCOT!! So if I don't get many flowers, then so be it!

Oh, and I am only $600 over in my very rough budget for Disney stuff!

Oh, I love your wedding band! I totally feel the stress of having to pay for tuition on top of the wedding! DF and I have been doing the same...and I'll be coming back from my wedding to unemployment (although that might be god for awhile) :rotfl:

Hi Kerry! I have been following your plans but I guess I've never actually posted before:confused3 We are having VERY similar weddings and it looks like we'll be just 1 day apart (I'm hoping for Dec 6)! You are right December 7 should be MVMCP- we were originally going to book the Grand 1 during Wishes so we picked a date when we didn't think there would be MVMCP:rotfl: (Now we have too many people but we'll have to see). It's hard to believe how things add up so quick even for an Escape wedding- try not to sweat it too much, you'll sort through what's most important and have an AMAZING wedding! Less than 1 month and we can book:banana:

The most important thing for me is the MVMCP, but of course that has to be between $55-$65 a person!

My DF won't be taking a course next semester due to us not having to save (but his new job has tuition reimbursement so hopefully that kicks in soon).

Now I'm wishing I had more time to save, especially since I just had to write 1k in checks to pay taxes, and that came right out of our savings/wedding account :headache:

Geez! You're still so much further ahead than I am. You're plans sound like it's going to be a wonderful time. I truly hope you get your date/MVMCP. I began to feel guilty when I realized that we were penciled in for the date/time/venue that you were originally thinking. I'm relieved that now I won't be standing in the way of your dream wedding. :yay:

This is where Disney Weddings confuses/annoys me because until I changed the date, I was told we were penciled in for the same date. I guess they don't tell people that multiple people can be penciled in at the same time and then it's a mad dash to make a deposit...that's not really fair to people planning :headache:

Some random updates:

~ Made my deposit for Vicki & David Arndt
~ Working with Mikkel for Esty's Xbox cake
~ Pandora's Box for the ceremony is in...see below!
~ Dropped my Great Aunt's engagement ring off to get fixed. She gave it to me and since she can't make the wedding, I'm wearing it as my "old"
~ Picked out a ring for Esty, he doesn't want to get it yet, since he's also trying to lose a couple of lbs

The DF spoke with his mom this weekend, and she wants to help pay. She said because their family is so big, it's only fair. It definitely helps when the charges increase and the savings decrease :scared1:

I full admit stealing this idea from Boardwalk_bride, her guestbook...the Vinylmation Mickey! So cute!

We're still going back and forth on the ceremony music. I'm not going to pay the 850 for an audio tech and I feel strange asking someone to play the music for us (and what if there is a slip up)....besides the funds, this is my biggest headache right now lol

That is so cute that your great aunt gave you her ring! Such a nice gesture!

That is awesome that your DF's family wants to help pay. It is always nice when there is less to save for!

And you are not "stealing" my idea at all! The point is to share ideas, and I'm glad I could inspire somebody else!

Not sure if you are interested, but we picked out sheet music and swapped the violinist for a guitarist. We both like acoustic music, so that worked well for us.

I didn't even think about swapping...was there a charge for the because I could definitely go for a guitarist (but if the charge is too much, I could just get the audio tech)
