Help! We haven't used the Kennels at WDW for YEARS! Can someone tell me how much it costs? Where else besides MK and Fort Wilderness can we kennel our dog?

I also remember that you have to go feed and walk your own dog. Is this still true?

Which kennel is closest to Old Key West?

Any and all of your help will be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!

GoofyDisney,

I checked out Kennels in my PassPorter

Resort guest can leave pets overrnight in a Disney kennel. Pets in kennels must be walked three times a day by their owners. The EPCOT kennel is currently offering a dog-walking service for $2.50 per walk. It didn't give a price for the Kennel.

While the kennels are very reasonable...they are still very small.

EPCOT didn't offer the dog walking service the last time we had the dogs there...in the past year. In fact..the people that run the kennels are parking lot attendants, not professional pet people.

If at all possible, I would try and find a pet sitter for your pet at home, or a local kennel. Your pet would be much happier.

We use the Epcot kennel!! And have been very happy!!
They do offer a walking sevice!! We have used it three times the last time being this past Sept!! We will be using it again on th 10th. We have found the same people there who walk the dogs so Im not sure where the PP got ther inof on them being parking attendents. I think Disney would be liable if they used just anyone to take care of the dogs what if a person got bit? not in the job discription of a parking attendent.
What we usually do is walk the dog ourselves in the morning then have them walk him two more times. (we have a 130 lb dog!!) sometimes we go and walk him again if we have time!! good luck to you!!

We use the kennels often. In addition to MK, Epcot, and FW, you can use the Studios kennels. We prefer the Epcot kennel and I don't think that parking lot attendants are used for the pets. At least we have found the same personnel at the same kennel various times. Our animals do well at the kennels, not as well as at home, but well.

Thanks for all the help.

Tnkrbell - Our dog is 90 lbs. So, your dog had no problems with the size of the kennels?

Do you remember how much it cost per day?

Thanks bunches!

Hi!
I dont remeber how much it was\is a night I will loook it up though for you!! :)
As far as the cages being samll I didnt think they were too bad.
I will come back with what I find as far as prices!! :)

since you are staying at OKW (this is a WDW resort)then it is $9 a night - $11 a night for non-WDW resorts - $6 for a day guest

I stay at OKW and I like FW and Epcot - I take my cat - he is very spoiled has to use his cat litter - his bed - his food - his toys - so I need to be able to park close - FW you can still park really close.

At Epcot you are parking in the AAA and handicapped area - it is not far - but if you have to carry as much stuff as I do - then it is a real problem. Once your pet is settled and everything Epcot is pretty good -

FW can have problems too - WDW expects these people to do alot - they also do the horseback riding and in the holiday - the carriage rides and the haunted rides - and also the kennels - if the kennels are full and people are waiting to ride the horses it can be a bad situation - but on the whole they do remarkable well....Considering that most of the time there is one person - and I mean one person.

Epcot generally has 3.

this personally is trained but they also are trained to do the tickets.

make sure your pet has all his shots - this is important!!!

I have had problems with a certain person at Epcot - my cat is afraid of dogs bigger than him - she kept implying that my problem was because my cat hate cages - not the fact that she kept bring in a giantic dog - I finally got her manager (who owned the dog) and she got the situation straighten out - finally - but this was a big problem for me and it went on for several days - Spicey was so scarey of that dog.

her comments on he won't hurt a flea - did not help either of us - I should have filed a complaint - but I didn't - so this person is still there - so most of the time I have my cat to FW.

both Epcot and FW had lots of room to walk your pet - Studios and the AK don't - I haven't tried AK but I was told that it had less than Studios.

the one at the T/T (MK) stills takes over nights too - it has very close parking - but the bus stop is beside it - my cat hates the noise that they make - it has enough room for most pets to walk - if the noise from the buses doesn't bother them.

oh the hours have changed - the ones at the theme park are still an hour after the park closes. - they generally open an hour before the park opens (however you can generally get in earlier)

FW has hours 7am to 8pm - they use to be open to 10pm - but that changed a while ago.

Tknrbell - Thanks soooo much! I could not find this section on the newly redesigned site.

Spicey - THanks for the tips on noise also.

Now, for the really stupid question...Is it $6 for the daytime PLUS $9 for the overnight stay, or is that $6 if you are going to have your pet stay during the day ONLY and the $9 if they stay a 24 hr period?

I couldn't tell from the info provided. And based on the website, I will be sure to call for a reservation.

no you will only pay $9 - for 24 hour fee. they take all the major credit cards - so cash is not necessary.

I have pictures if you want to see them - they are on my home computer - but I can send them to you if you want.

I would love to see the pictures. We are trying to decide if we want to do with our little baby on our next trip.
